Anybody know why the outline and borders of cars’ cockpit parts/components have a glowy and shimmery outline? It looks like my car is in half ghost mode or something.
I can see this sometimes on the outside of cars too at the back - e.g. around bumpers, exhaust tips and other parts at the back of exposed race cars and track cars.
It’s been there since day one - I mostly play on Performance RT.
Please, please - just get rid of this already. Makes me not want to use cockpit view or chase close cam.
It’s the horrendous RTAO implementation.
The sample count is too low (probably only 1 sample per pixel) to be properly denoised by the temporal denoiser…
This is the best way I can describe it as per thread title. It looks like sections and compartments in the interior/dashboard are “sewn” or glued together. The top left of the roof even let’s you see through and onto the sky.
There’s simply no way to fix this unless they disable RTAO /RT reflections (in this case you might as well just play in Performance mode!) or significantly increase the sample count (impossible on Xbox given the GPU performance it would require)
For what it’s worth, they should definitely consider disabling RT for cockpit as I think it is doing more harm than good. Even great looking cockpits are being marred by this shimmering and glowing around the borders and cockpit parts.
