Graphics - environment texture quality is dreadful On Xbox Series X

On Series X, every track I go on has really low res road textures. I have the high resolution texture pack installed.

Using Performance Ray tracing mode

I think the game is very blurry with no sharpness and little color saturation, it looks like there’s a fog in the game.
I also noticed that it has a lot of depth of field, they could add a setting in the video to turn off effects like depth of field, motion blur maybe TAA effect and etc.

Same here. Thanks for adressing it!

Really expected more from the graphics (Xbox series X, 4K tv) the cars look okay when stationary in the menus, but then as soon as you start driving, genuinely the reflections and gradual dirtiness on the cars look like I’m playing a 10 year old project Gotham game. And the tarmac/grass/gravel runoffs have no texture at all. Pretty disappointed that FM 7 looked better than this. And 6 to be honest.

It’s unfortunately no different on the PC. The quality on the track or the environment is not at all like both Xbox Showcase was shown. The graphics are unfortunately downgraded. Even with GPU 4090 I am totally disappointed graphically.
I expect that the developers will offer better graphics at least on the PC with upcoming updates.

There are basically no road textures on any of the tracks. I reinstalled Motorsport 7 just to compare and track looks so much better. I hope this is a bug because that’s ridiculous if it’s not. I also installed this game in a PC that isn’t as powerful as the series x and the textures on there are better as well.

EDIT: I have now tried it on all three visual settings and it doesn’t help. I feel as if the texture pack doesn’t load or something. The icon is still grey which I’ve never seen in any other game with a texture pack and the game icon still says coming soon like it can’t be accessed. I haven’t had that with an early access title before either.

In both Performance RT and Performance 4k/60, I’m seeing pretty noticeable LOD effects on the track surface in front of my car.

Indianapolis for example… I can see the blurry shadows and track surface coming into view and becoming sharp. This is not track specific . Just to give you an idea though.

The shadows and track texture should not be appearing blurry only a few metres in front of the car. LOD needs to be adjusted.

Series X.

Indeed, it’s the same on Series X. High texture pack installed. Some tracks have high resolution surfaces with LoD on grass being low, some tracks vice-versa. I am unsure what’s going on, but this game lacks polish quite a bit for it being in development for 6 years.

Confirm. The textures are of terribly poor quality both on the tracks and in general in the game itself. At the same time, the game weighs a lot, it seems to me that high-res textures just don’t work, well, they can’t look like that, what kind of high-res is it?

The fact that Series X only has 2x anisotropic filtering does not help, but the quality on PC there doesnt seem to differ between medium and high res textures at all!

Also anyone on PC have you noticed when you’re in a race in career mode or multiplayer the track disappears and you’re unable to know when a turn is coming up etc it’s happened to me a lot on PC also when people join in the multiplayer while you’re practicing the game has a major lag spike.

Same here, Xbox series X, i have tried everything and nothing helps.

The game looks pretty blurry on Xbox Series X, be it on the Performance mode or Performance RT mode (which i thought was causing the blurry visuals). The only crisp looking part is the cockpit. It’s almost like your driver is short-sighted. I’m sure this has to do with the Temporal Anti-Aliasing, as it is already known for being blurry, and games with it that I have played have similar problems of looking blurry.
As seen in the images below, the difference in image crispness is noticeable, mostly by looking at the car’s outlines, as well as in the metal grid fences, which disappear at a much closer distance in Motorsport 2023 (top picture):

It is also possible to observe that the motion blur in Motorsport 2023 is very noisy, another possible consequence of TAA:

This “blurriness” is also intensified by the proximity blur, with the outlines of the car bleeding into the background:

And in the specific case of Performance RT mode, the blurry reflections can also be another main magnifying factor for the issue:

Some instances of ghosting can also be observed, when background objects like flags or spectators move for example, as they aren’t affected by motion blur, so it can’t be masked, which is yet another issue caused by TAA, besides the dithering, already brought up on the pictures of the cars in motion.

I just wish the game looked at least as crisp as both Horizon 5 and it’s Motorsport series predecessor do.
For context: I play on a 4k TV (Samsung 43AU7700)

Excuse me. It’s a Samsung 43AU7700. But I’m pretty sure it has to do with the game. Everything else looks fine in every device connected to my TV.

Sure man, but there is a reason I came to the Forza forum to post about it. Forza is not the first game I play on the Series X, nor the TV. I have posted in this forum because I noticed the game looked significantly blurrier than other games I’ve played, and as many problems as my TV may have, what I’m reporting here isn’t one of them.

I have all motion and image noise filtering options turned off since I first turned the TV on. I am telling you I’ve had 2 different graphical experiences in the same Xbox and TV. Now, I found a post reporting pretty much the same thing. Tell me you see nothing wrong here: https://forums.forza.net/t/cars-having-jagged-lines-when-stationary/645931?

Confirm. The game on series ĐĄ looks very blurry, the same forza 7 looks an order of magnitude clearer, the TV model has nothing to do with it.

I have a 4K LG smart TV that’s 7 or 8 years old now. Game looks fine with the series X. Not sure why you guys have blurry graphics but doesn’t seem like it’s the game since others have no issues.
