There is a screenshot I have seen that has the Brabham and Lotus and I was trying to work out the track. This may explain it. I am now trying to find the screenshot.
Goodwood is in Gran Turismo 6 and is integrated in a number of ways:
The Hill Climb circuit is available to use in Single Player time trials and free runs.
There is a Goodwood game mode where you are invited by Lord March to drive various special cars on the Hill Climb course (with further invitations unlocked as you progress in Career Mode)
The central element (a large artwork dedicated to a different manufacturer every year) is updated each year to coincide with that year’s version.
Before we lead ourselves down the garden path, it’s just as likely, in fact more likely, that it’s just a play on the fact that the photo was taken at the Ford display at Goodwood and does not in any way confirm the hill climb as coming to Forza.
I don’t expect any type of point-to-point racing in Forza any more. I chalk it up to being just another feature that was in previous games that devs have nixed due to what ever b.s. reason that fans keep begging for yet never get included in the newest version.
Please prove me wrong T10, but, fans shouldn’t get their hopes up either.
Hm, maybe they will prove me wrong, I really hope so. They could, however, just be giving fans the same demo that Forza tours the rest of the country / world with…
EDIT: After re-reading the tweet, it looks promising. I hope they’re not that misleading.
Could be fantastic as an online league event. One shot deal, no restarts. It’s like drag racing, but of a more technical nature. I’m kind of hoping for it.
I can see why some people would enjoy it in that context but personally I’d find it boring, fast. If the track was long I’d be excited but I’m not particularly interested in a 1 mile run myself.
I’m not too familiar with the Goodwood facility, but I do believe it has a racing circuit. If the hill climb segment happens to make it into the game, maybe the other bit would be included?
It looks like they still host an annual event there, Goodwood Revival. Granted, it doesn’t appear to be a big-time show, but the racing circuit definitely appears functional.
