So I decided to play hookie from work today and play Forza all day instead. I’m an addict, what can I say?
I built me a new Mini for D class and kept pushing it and pushing it. I ended up with a #93 on Road America Full, #89 on Spa, #69 on Yas Marina Full, #60 on one of the short Top Gear tracks, and a #59 on another one of the short Top Gear tracks. Its been a really fun day, wish I could get paid for doing this
sounds like you have learned to relax and breath while racing. no more broken controllers and it’s actually easier then you “1st top 500”. and it all started with blowing a 1st turn in the alps…relaxing and getting very plesantly suprised. dont be afraid to make mistakes, it really can help you learn. without that alps mistake you probably wouldn’t be as good as you are now. i am suprised you got a good time with the same tune on ra and topgear. try it on prague. for some reason top gear and prague seem to be opposites for my tuneing, a 1st place car on one is a last place car on the other.
if you get good enough at videogames that are fun to watch you can get paid on twitch. forza dosn’t seem to be that popular tho.
Ironically, it was all the trouble I had on Alps that ultimately led to me getting better. I posted about that stuff and what Don did by running against my ghost taught me a lot. I really have tried to listen to everything that everyone has told me and its starting to come together nicely. I’ve found lots of people here to be incredibly helpful. Even Worm
I struggle with Prague in D class no matter what the car is. I think I’m somewhere around #300 on the LB, but I never feel like I do well with it. Its like I’m still unsure how to run the course. Prague Short is, by far and away, my worst track. In C and B class I use a Mugen on Prague and I’m a lot more comfortable on that track even if my times don’t reflect it.
I was kidding about getting paid for playing games. After 30 years of doing what I do for a living, I don’t have nearly as much fun with it as I currently do playing Forza, but its still what I enjoy most in life. Forza is just a much needed escape from the real world at times.
Way to go, Lou. I was working Yas in my Mini a couple of days ago trying to score my first top 1000 and just missed it, so far. Sounds like you have a heck of a build/tune there.
Yas used to be that one track that gave me fits. I just made up my mind that I was going to force myself to learn it and I’m getting there. As to the tune, its shared in the game, take it for a spin.
It was never a favorite of mine. If you had told me my 2nd top 1% would be at Yas I would have told you to take a flying leap. But, I did that and thought “I think I can go top 1000, here.” About .8 seconds from that. Know I can get it, but decided to take a break from Yas/Mini and work Indy for a bit.
I look forward to trying your tune when I decide to give it another go.
