For the past few weeks, the top leaderboard drivers have been using some sort of game cheat where they don’t race and crash into the first turn and don’t move but by the end of the race the end up in various top podium positions. I have various videos of these drivers not racing and multiple laps down then end up in 1st place when race is completed. When the end of race timer starts, then these cars come to life and start racing.
We have about four to five drivers per race doing this glitch/cheat and the integrity of this game is now long gone.
Sounds like the “invisibilty” bug, where on your screen some cars don’t move off the grid but in reality those people are actually racing you just don’t see their cars move (hence to you they are invisible).
On some peoples screens they will be racing as per normal and if you bring up the pause menu mid-race after a lap or two you should find that many of these cars stuck on the grid have set laptimes.
Seems to be related to connectivity issues between some players and/or loading/lag issues.
This also happens in non-ghost leagues where it creates additional problems because in a situation where someone is “invisible” to you, they will still have your car racing around them and you are actually able to hit them without even knowing it - to them your car is an unmovable and all-powerful smashing machine racing around the track they can do nothing about.
Occassionally it will fix itself on the next race but if you’re consistently getting the same cars stuck on the grid race after race and there not timing out, restarting the game seems to be the only sure fire way of getting things back to normal.
It’s just one of a long list of bugs that seasoned players know all too well and t10 don’t seem interested in spending any effort to rectify or improve
I see it to be more related to a lot of peoples internet connection. had a buddy that was on a 3mb down and 1-.5mb up and it happened to him every night(invisible cars) including him not being able to see others that were in our party. Once he upgraded to a better ISP his problem was solved. And every time I’ve had it happen to me I’ll go check my connection and every time I’m testing at 5% of what I should be, so I just reset my router/modem and everything is solved again.
There’s so many terrible connections out there and some large gaps between servers and I really don’t think Turn 10 can do to much to “fix” it.
