The center, the very core of a racing game is the cars. When will the sub-woofer be utilized for the cars!!! I can go to single player page (boom), click a free race (boom), select a track (boom), load the race (feels slow on the 1X too), click on test drive (boom) and with no cars on the track but mine… the sub-woofer goes silent… ZERO MOVEMENT no matter the car, engine, cylinder count, division, class… no sub-woofer use for the car I’m driving. Cars still lack soul.
Various customers from another thread have tried HDMI, Fiber, DTS, Dolby, and stereo. Everything uses the sub channel accept for the cars. Without the full, rich and dynamic range of sound, Forza7 now sounds like all the GT games of old. A V8 should rumble a V10 should vibrate, V12’s… should howl and scream.
I was hoping to find a thread labeled ‘bug report’. I could only find this section for Tech Support and help. Tech Support, please report this issue as a bug. #enable sub-woofer for engine/exhaust notes
They have previously moved this very issue into a thread in General discussion that is 26 pages long and includes sound inaccuracies as well. Turn 10 doesn’t see a problem, they haven’t acknowledged the issue in any way.
I’m in 100% agreement, it is a bug, just not one they care about. The game is in shambles in so many ways it’s probably hard to pick which one to focus on. I’m enjoying other games and maybe can try FM8 next time.
Hi there, I just came directly from a thread called Car Sound/turbo spool to this one. It sounds to me like the issue you guys have is weak and tiny sounding cars. I have seen only a small handful of gameplay videos so far, and I feel that there is something lacking, because gameplay videos of other games I saw right after, including racing games, had pretty loud and “bass happy” sound.
I guess I’ll have to find other racing games to showcase my sound system (GF is returning from vacation, planning to blow her skirt off hehehe). Forza probably not the best example, even though I have heard some good things about sound in previous games from my PC gaming circle.
They have since removed audio settings that pertained to this. The LFE channel is now gone from the options. I use Butt Kicker and the Booms from the menus, HELICOPTERS and race finish are absolutely insane! I’m worried i’m going to blow my transducer and/or subs from the clipping.
I don’t remember an LFE adjustment in any Forza. However this is a issue new to FM7, all other FM and Horizon games had LFE for the cars as well as the rest of the game. It’s just simply missing from the cars in FM7. They have had some quality updates but still haven’t even acknowledged this bug, so it’s not looking good…
It doesn’t help that they looked at another thread on this and decided it wasn’t a problem. Either it’s by design, or they’re just not paying attention.
it appears to be an audio design choice from what i can understand and not a very good one apparently. i’ve heard some great bass coming out of cars while watching high-quality “best supercar sounds” videos on youtube.
Yup, still a problem. I keep checking back with dreams of T10 bringing back features that made sense. I’ll accept that we did get the 7.1 (native) audio option. However, car sounds still do not utilize the subwoofer. Every other racing game including their own previous titles got this right. I’ll keep resurrecting this dead thread occasionally in hopes that someone, anyone at T10 realizes this is a real issue.
