Gear slip? + a few questions :)

Hi all I haven’t played Forza 7 for a long time so I thought I’d give it a go again and I must say that I’m quite enjoying the racing although I’m a little slow lol but I’m finding that my gear seems to slip,
e.g. I’ll be racing along in fourth or fifth gear when suddenly the car jumps out of gear back to neutral, this usually causes me to either crash out completely or at least lose a few places.
I’m using a Fanatec cls elite steering and csl elite pedals plus the clubsport shifter, (I have these setup via the input options) I have the wheel and pedals plugged into my PC separately so I’ll maybe change this and plug the pedals back into the the wheel base and see if this helps.

One other thing when I’m looking up the scoreboard after the race I notice the there are semi circles at the assists can some one please explain what these represent i.e. is it the different assists that I’m using as I notice that most of the people higher up in the ranking seem to use very little and I seem to use quite a lot lol
also I use headphones when racing but I’ve noticed when racing online that I can hear the other drivers talking but there voices are coming out of my speakers that are attached to my PC and not my headset, is there any way to stop this or at least have the voices coming through my headset?

Thanks in advance

Sounds like your shifter needs recalibration to avoid false neutrals or are you accidentally bumping one of the paddle shifters while driving.

The semi-circles reflect the assists that were enabled during that recorded run - ABS On/Off, Traction Control On/Off, Stability Management On/Off, Transmission Auto, Manual, Manual with Clutch

Thanks @SkiwiNV I must keep a close eye on my paddle shifters I could be hitting them by accident.
The guys at the top of the leader boards are using practically no aids then, I suppose that’s why they are where they are

Yes - turn the aids off; you’ll likely be slower initially but your driving skills will improve over time as you will be more aware of whats happening to the car and can make small adjustments to get best performance.
