does anyone know the maximum number of cars someone can have in there garage?? i have forza 4 limited edition collector series. i heard rumor depending on game version affects garage capacity://
I believe its 550 regardless of the version you have. Although you can use a USB stick for another save to double it.
Will this not get you banned?
Some months back I asked the question about a USB backup and I think it was Snowowl that gave me some guidelines on that. If my memory serves me right, he advised against that because used incorrectly per se might lead to a ban indeed. So I guess it’s a matter of what you do with the backup and not like in the old days using the backup and auction house together to make money.
thank you pocket poncho:))
no its just another save file. You just load it up and you have another 550 cars and if you want you can replay the career.
Im gonna need some clarification on that man. What do you mean by using the AH and USB together? Most have been going on during my long hiatus.
Below is the answer I received from Snowowl back in September 2014 on the question of backup.
Back-up or duplicate game saves are NOT allowed. If you do that, you’ll get a “tampered profile” warning, and the only way to play the game after the servers sense you’re messing with the saved game files is to delete them and start from scratch. It is that way because back in the original Forza Motorsport, people would duplicate their saves, sell all their cars off, and then bring back the duplicate with all the original cars and sell again.
You CAN, however, have separate saved games going on with two different devices (hard drives, for instance) under the same gamertag. Perfectly legal, since you can only play one at a time. You must recover your gamertag from Xbox LIVE each time you switch. However, it is not a means to save portions of the game (such as Designs or Vinyls) because you cannot Gift to your own tag.
You can, though, move cars from one save to another via the Auction House by placing a car up for sale (“Save A”) then immediately cancel that sale but not resolve it. Then later when you’re in the other save on the second device (“Save B”) you resolve the auction(s). Those Tunes or liveries on the resolved auctions will be locked, even to you. DLC is accessible in both saves.
Think it pretty much speaks for itself.
Hope it helps.

Guys, it’s real easy to have multiple game saves. I actually have 10, counting the hard drive, the cloud save and 8 USB devices. You can also COPY your entire design file or your entire tune file to any of the USB devices. I believe the only thing you CANNOT do is COPY your saved game file to another device - that is where you run into the Tampered Profile problems.

I also have 3 Game saves. Just like Nacho said, as long as you don’t “Copy” your game saves you should be fine. Also when you start a new Game save that one will be a new career and start you out at level 0 on that game save. I’m a different level with each of my saves but at least I can have a total of 1,650 cars between the 3 of them. Anyways there isn’t anything complicated with it and I have moved some of my Designs and Tunes from one save to another by installing it on one car, Auctioning it, Canceling the Auction and then going into the game save to be used and resolving the car and then saving the Tune and Design.
Anyway, hope this helps those who wish to expand their collections or Back-up their Designs and Tunes.

Seems like a major hassle…

Yes and no. I created all of mine back when I was trying to juggle billions of credits for my Poker Run comps. Now that unresolved auctions never expire, I probably would not have needed so many game saves…

Ok sorry I would not have thought of copying and reselling car for cash sooooooooo yeah I was tired aswell;) Thanks for the info.
Would it also be possible to use the car club share/unshare function instead of the auction house auction/remove/resolve function, to move things from one console to another?

No, the car doesn’t move from your garage. It just sets a copy of whatever tune and paint were on it when you shared/synced it. Once it’s out, it won’t go back to your garage on a new save since that would basically be cloning cars.
Ah. Yeah, I was afraid that might be the case…
