Gameplay - FRR applies penalty to player for being hit by another player (1692509)

Case 3:

Missing penalties for blocking.

Multiple times drivers are blocking the faster driver 2 or more times on a straight.

When the faster car is within .75 seconds and about to pass and the leading car changes their
driving line on a straight greater than a car width more than once to block the faster car behind
them they should receive a 5 second penalty for illegal blocking.

Case 4:

Missing penalty when gaining an advantage.

Multiple times on a straight drivers take advantage of the lenient contact rules to make slight but
continuous contact to push the faster car off the track or against a wall to get a time advantage.

On a straight when a leading car has their wheels turned more than 5 degrees and in contact with
another car for more than 3 seconds and the other car is being pushed off the track or against a wall,
the leading car should get a large penalty of 10 sec or more.

Bug Info: please can you fix the penalty system, i just had a race where i was on Silverstone and a car spin in front of me and hit me (nothing i could do to avoid the touch i made) and im given a 4 second penalty but than a player ram me at the side and is given nothing.

How can the system not give penalty to ramming but a car spin into you is a pen?

The penalty system is beyond broken I’m afraid. At this point it would be better to entirely delete it.

Just some instances I came across:

  • I was on the racing line, guy bumps into me and pushes me wide off track - 1,5s penalty for me / nothing for the opponent

  • car in front of me is break testing me on a straight at full speed - 4s penalty for me / nothing for the opponent

  • first corner after start on Le Mans, car from behind just didn’t break at all and rams 5-6 other cars - everyone got penalized except the one who really shouldn’t be playing this game at all! Also why does the game not ghost players in such instances?!

  • in practice sometimes cars are ghosted when slow, sometimes not though. There seems to be no obvious rule for that - it rather looks bugged. But it’s really frustrating if someone’s driving with 30 km/h and you come down the straight with 220 and he’s not ghosted!

I’ve gotten penalties for the weirdest things where I 100% was not at fault and also did not get penalized when I 100% should’ve!

And this is just one broken part of this game…

Yes, In total agreement on the broken system.

Turn 10 talked a big game before release on how good their penalty system would be. The y boasted on how many incidents their system could recognize and give penalties for. But every race I get rammed off or turned and all the culprit gets is small penalty or none at all and I loose 10 seconds or so getting back on track and up to speed. A minimum of 5 seconds is needed and probably 10sec would be better. Maybe that would make wrecker think a bit.

I have only had a couple of penalties that I thought was unwarranted for me. 98% of races I don’t get a penalty. But also 98% of races I am crashed into or punted off track or spun around. If these are S and A ranked racers, yes I also would hate t see what the other tiers are like.

This system needs to be completely redone because what they have at the moment is a joke and isn’t a penalty system at all.

Unfortunately, this game is much more casual that I hoped it would be. It is for casual controller users.
And wheel users are just a after thought.

I’m at an A rating now because other players can’t use their brakes and because I can’t read minds.

Yeah same. My rating has dropped because I’m being shunted off the track regularly.

Think with your head before you speak. If they eliminate the sanctioning system it becomes a (wreckfest). the system just needs to be polished a bit

It is in fact the exact same Wreckfest as in previous installments of the series with the addition that I get punished now for other players mistakes. I’d rather have no system than an entirely broken one. This way I’m angry at other players AND the programming of this abomination instead of just other players. It’s not done with some small tweaks and I doubt it’ll get fixed to a state that is acceptable.

Concordo, as penalidade nĆ£o sĆ£o corretas…

Please fix the penalty system. I’m constantly being turned into than given a penalty for avoidable collision and then an off track violation. Or hit from behind and given a 2.25s penalty for avoidable collision.

I just got an avoidable collision. I didn’t hit anybody with any severity, nobody hit me with any severity but penalty I got anyway.

Did the Homestead oval and that’s a total rammathon.

I’m just going to hang back at the back for these races until I get back into the S category. Just for the single reason of trying to escape these rammers.

Bug Info: If player A is hit and spun by player B, and player B waits for player A, if any further contact is made afterwards, player A is given a penalty of multiple seconds.

Yeah I am pretty sure about that, if you wait for example to qualify to the very last end you see that nobody (only the ones actually in the lobby) sets a time and only after you set a time then the AI comes in while there are no actually no laps left to qualify and puts in a pole position time.
Just keep an eye out of how long about a qualify lap takes and multiply with 3 is how long it takes to finish 3 rounds. You see sometimes on the top right corner of your screen a lap from one person (te AI in this case) of I say 57,44 and after that there is only 60 sec left to qualify and you yourself have set a time of 55,06 sec. He than better his time with a 56,01 that’s the 60 sec. time left right…? But all of a sudden when the game begins he is on pole and that is impossible.

I also know that there are AI in multiplayer because those are the ones that sits literally on your bump the whole time and you literally hear the engine and turbo the whole time whistle and also these are the ones that take you out, for example when you late brake in the corner they brake even later nearly impossible but hey they are the AI and can do everything. They spin you out and if you try that back to them you notice that there car is glued to the road and nearly impossible to spin out.

Most of the time you can tell that AI is in the lobby is when you see up top of your screen when you all are ready to race (looking for drivers shows up) and it takes about 4 to 6 min. to start the race because there are not so many real players who still play this game.

My rating went down from S 4942 to C sub zero because a AI took me out in the 3 practice race (the one with the Honda civics on Laguna seca and two other circuits) and I got a 4 sec. penalty because he spins me out. I went after his ars and chased after him to take him out but there was no way to slide him because he was glued to the road. I finally rammed him so hard in the corner that he was spinning out and all of a sudden the game when on tilt and every car was literally boosting in speed also the car I spinned out and there was no way to keep up with them!! We are talking about stock/spec cars here not tuned parts cars. I was disqualified after hitting a few other cars and end up with a 12,5 sec penalty.

I climbed up in safety rank after doing about 15 more (clean) races from C rating to S 4992 where I am at now.
You can really not hit anyone or anything in these races to climb back up and not going off track only then you climb up again.

So I guess turn 10 is lying again to us about NO AI in multiplayer race in case of the safety rank system!?
Lobby is filled with AI player if there are not enough real players participating the race, go try it out and you will find out yourself. You know hopefully when you are playing with real players or when you are playing with the AI after so many years of gaming… if you are new to gaming then maybe you can not notice in first but soon it will all be clear if you study what’s all happening in the game and know how it all works.

Interesting, i will not argue about that. I also saw that when qualifing session ends, in table shows you are in that place, but when intermission starts you are placed lower. But for me there was one situation when i was trying to join in one lobby in last minutes, i was kicked out first, the lobby was full it said. And when i tried second time to join, i was in lobby with only 1 person or AI or whatever… and we were racing all race only two of us…:man_facepalming:t2:

Saftey Rating is just full of flaws. I did two MP races and dropped from S to A. First off all, I did not have any penalties at all. I did not cause any havoc on track, but I got crashed into and so on. Why punish the clean racers. Turn10, you guys need to take a look at this, beacuse this issue will eventaully hurt FM long term. Start punishing those causing havoc on track, becuase this is not cool at all. Or fix it so that we can see peoples SR in lobbies. Better idea, turn on damage. That will teach those rammers that driving like idiot don’t pay off long term.

I agree. I’m at the point of giving up on online multiplayer. I’m S safety rating and todays race I did was farcical. I was pushed off the track multiple times. It’s just not fun. Horizon 5 multiplayer is cleaner than this nonsense.

The idea of the punishment system is good, but poorly executed.

I started sixth place at Le Mans. After I fell back to 22nd place in the first corner because my opponents braked too late, the opponent rammed me on the straight near Lausanne, even though I was traveling at more top speed at around two hundred and seventy kilometers per hour, right after me was already right next to him. I got a four second penalty. Please correct the system and give more penalties for braking too late in the curve. And also significantly more penalties for intentional ramming when it is clear that the opponent just wants to ram you. .
Although you can see that the person behind is moving much faster. Even in the last laps when you’re on new tires and your opponent isn’t

Yes that happened with me many times. It’s not all the time that you race against AI in multiplayer but most of the time there are not enough real players and AI replaces them because many players don’t or can’t play the game anymore because of the ridiculous flaws in this game. And that’s pretty pitty because Motorsport has great potential for a good racing game.

You buy a tripple A Microsoft game on day one these days and are hyped to play but you can’t enjoy the game because it’s broken and have to wait for a update or patch that will better the game… that’s ridiculous and people are not buying that crap anymore and stops playing. Majority plays on Gamepass and have not payed full price for the game thankfully  let’s pray Motorsport is getting fixed soon before it’s really too late and losing to many players, because when the game works it’s a good game specially online. I don’t think they can fix Motorsport anymore to be enjoyable for many players because it’s really broken in so many ways…

I agree. But people should learn to drive first and should learn race rules it’s not that hard, then all of this is not necessary. Most kiddos driving with no clue at all and thinking that every race game is a wreckfest ruin the game for many clean players.

One time when i entered sweats lobby (gt races), one of players was impatient and pushed me into wall, i bounced off, did 360 spin lost 10 positions and got 1.5s penalty even tho no one hit me when i was spinning, guy that pushed me got no penalty.

Looks like the only way to have good race in this game, is to be faster than anyone else :sunglasses:
