I dunno what else to say other than no, it really doesn’t happen for me. If it did I would have noticed. I’m extremely sensitive to these types of things and always notice anything like this. The only time I ever get any sort of slight stutter is in Forzavista occasionally when closing a door. That’s it, period.
As for my power settings, I don’t have instant on turned on so yes, I always shut it down fully each time but I don’t turn the power brick off. I do however also unplug my external HDD from the USB slot because regardless of what settings you use the Xbox still gets power going into the USB slot so the external drive is always running when it’s plugged in. I don’t want that so I just whip the USB out from the side when I turn it off.
Nope, just have the standard dash/OS, last updated September 2015. Oct sys. update isn’t out yet, is it?
Aight, cool mayen!
You don’t even notice it pre-race on occasions when your car’s rolling towards the grid? Okay, enough about that already!
Appreciate the feedback.
Yeahhh! Brands Hatch, around the same place: end of final turn before the straight. And Forza 5’s were actually problematic as they would happen at least a few times in every race, specially Lemans on practically the same spot every time.
Your explanations so as to why this happens, even given how rare it does, makes complete sense. Do you honestly think DX12 will make a difference or utilizing ESRAM 100%?
None of this happened in previous Forzas… so took me a while to get used to it, and accept it. lol
It’s a small price to way, you’re right; I love how fluid the game is at 60 fps, no tearing, clean and sharp visuals. So I’ll cut T10 some slack for the infrequent hiccup. I don’t suppose a faster and/or bigger external HDD will eliminate this. I don’t even need an external, as I don’t play that many games at any given time. Got the X1 mostly for Forza.
Do you notice these occasional hiccups in other games? None at all on my end. Anyway, devs should be working on this I’m assuming, cos’ F7 is going to really test the X1’s mettle.
I have an external drive, ive seen it happen, but not many. The only time I can definitely say I saw this happen more than once was on brands hatch when your coming around the final turn before the finish line, Forza 5 had this occur on the bugatti track, same kind of situation last turn before the finish line.
It really can be a number of reasons why this would occur, it’s possible that before you start a new lap track animations such as crowds, ballons, confetti, the helicopters might have to reload themselves. Another thing it might be is loading up your next rival, who knows.
I think with turn 10 being a microsoft development studio they are pushing the game further than others could, and to achieve certain benchmarks they may have to use more drastic and less stable computational power. I think it’s a small price to pay in the long run considering how stable the game is for the most part, I’ll take a small hiccup here or there compared to screen tearing throughout the race any day.
lol, nope, not even during pre-race when the cars are rolling up. Admittedly I’m not as focused on that but I would have noticed it if it had happened. For the record, I did used to get a split second stutter during FM5 on Old Mulsanne straight about halfway down it when doing over about 220mph. I know a lot of people had that. That was a strange one as well though. I never had it at first but then I started getting it at some point for whatever reason. I’m sure it was after one of the many updates.
I don’t get that same stutter in FM6 though halfway down Old Mulsanne, even when hammering it at 250mph.
I have the console’s 220v chord going directly into one of the voltage stabilizer’s 220v slots (we have fluctuation issues here from time to time) which goes directly to a wall outlet, while the other 220V slot on the stabilizer is connected to a power strip which accommodates the other stuff - TV, audio system, PC etc.
How often did you used to notice these hiccups in F5? Apart from Lemans, would you say on practically every track, at least a few times per 3-4 lap race? Say, an average of 2, maybe 3 times on the first lap of almost every track? Almost.
Never got the hiccups at all in FM5 other than at Le Mans, always at the same spot every lap on old mulsanne straight. That was the only hiccup I ever noticed.
Wierd… it’s been like that for some folks: in F5, only experiencing hiccups on LeMans. Then there were others (a few threads created in the F5 section) who said they would get hiccups in every race, myself included. Do you think this has anything to do with using an external?
Well then… beats the heck outta me mate. Can’t understand why this happens to some and doesn’t to others. Does this have anything to do with how much power the console uses? I.e. 220v (PAL), 110v (NTSC).
The stutter is more noticeable if your xb1 is online compared to when it’s offline. When offline, I rarely caught the game stutter. If it does, it’s really a micro micro-stutter which is even less than 10th of a second that only super fast eyes can catch. So I suggest play offline to play smoother. But I’m hoping that future updates will erase these micro-stutter problems entirely.
