Game is now unplayable due to sync issues. Can we please have some acknowledgement!

Pretty simple, can anyone at turn10 acknowledge if this is Xbox live or what? Can’t even play now, cars don’t even show up.

The track fiasco in FM5 is bad enough that they won’t acknowledge that or fix it. But now over $80 worth of unplayable Forza H2? This is theft!

Old Xbox has a local save that was working, but not anymore.

Let’s see

60 for For a H2
25 For the car pack
20 for the VIP pack

$105 down the you know what.
The Forza a franchise is THE reason I purchased an Xbox one last year to begin with.

All I wanted to do was upgrade to the COD console.

I friend and I have been playing public online sessions for the last 4 hours no issues on the One

And there is a local save as well - had to use it a few times given my ISP can be seriously flakey of late (rapid expansion and the infrastructure they have is struggling ona frequent basis).

How do you use / choose to use from your local save?
I have never seen an option for this.

From what I can see as soon as your cloud save goes west your furbared.

Unplag/disconnect your console from the internet before starting the game? Will use local save game and supposed to sync back to the cloud once you enable internet again.

That said, other people have complained in the past that progress doesn’t always update or that sync takes a very long time to complete.

For the Xbox one, you can “go offline” in your network settings, forcing the use of the local save. Problem now is the local save seems to be corrupt as well from the major cloud issues going on. Starting a new game is one thing, but if the cloud cannot sync these large saves, what’s the point in starting over again. When you have all the perks unlocked, 10 million credits, and all the one time only stuff from the VIP membership and rewards, starting over is NOT an option.

I think the biggest question is, XBox Live problem, or Forza problem? The xbox one was designed around using the cloud only for syncing user accounts to other consoles. Good and bad, I’d rather have my profile on a USB disc personally like the old 360.

So word of warning - If you like Forza, DON’T UPGRADE YOUR CONSOLE!

The problem here lies in the fact that most game saves tend to be between 8 and 16 MB while the one for Forza Horizon can be as large as 50.

Sometimes the console or game may freeze on the sync because it’s attempting to sync such a massive save. I had a syncing issue earlier and it was resolved. Once you let the game start syncing, just wait. You may have to dashboard and quit the game while the syncing in progress banner is frozen on the screen. That is fine, I did that two or three times and kept checking the my apps and games section. Each time I did that I noticed that my gamesave grew in size.

Thi shows that even though it’s frozen it is attempting to sync your data. Eventually, it did not freeze and let me into the game and sure enough everything was there.

I don’t think that the console and cloud were originally going to be expected to sync such large game saves and so it wasn’t given as much thought and attention as may have been necessary. On the Xbox 360, Forza Motorsport 3 had multiple game saves or your actual progress and gift cars, for layer groups, for full car designs, and for tuning; but, in the Xbox One versions all of these saves have been combined into one larger file. The more cars you collect, the more paints you create or download, and the more tunes you save or download, the larger your file size will get, and the longer it will take to go through the syncing process if you switch consoles. Once both consoles have most of the data the syncing time will be much shorter.

Yes it would be nice to have the save on a USB and carry it around like we used to. I don’t know if a USB will still work on the Xbox One with all the new updates, but I do know you can install the game to an external HDD and play it from there if it’s connected to the console with a USB. Perhaps this would also work for the game save?

Seems like there is some kind of problem with X box live every other day, smh.
