Game is empty or my connection is the issuse?

So I just got FH5 Premium on my Series X and game feels empty. I see maybe 3-4 players and after a while they disappear. After a while 1-2 players pop out and so on. Also sometimes it disconnects me from Forza Live. My question is if it’s in-game problem or maybe my connection issues? I checked network settings on my Series X and it says that i have open NAT. I don’t know what to think about it o.O

Yup, its how it is. You only see players who are close to you, its the same on PC too. Unlike FH4 this world feels like a joke.

There’s other players when you play online???

Yes there are !!!
But they all run away and hide when you get close.
No Idea what they’re scared of.

Maybe my avatars face? :frowning:

Well… too bad. It’s at least partially next-gen so I was hoping for even something bigger than FH4… Suppose I need to get use to it.

I feel like there were connection issues today. I got booted once, players jumping around, and me and another player went through 3 rounds of playground games just the 2 of us.

They thought showing 4-5 players around you all the times would give a feeling of immersion. But we fast travel so rapidly within a short span of time and servers have real difficulty to spawn nearby players all the time. In short servers take a serious hit everytime one fast travels. So they take some time to show players around you and hence you feel the world is empty. In short, they made things worse with FH5.

That’s why I asked if it’s my internet connection or game’s fault. It happens especially while i’m fast traveling, I feel like I’m playing Horizon Solo o.O But as far as I remember in FH4, FH2 it was different. Fast travel and boom other players appeared instantly. I could see from long distance if players at Horizon Events are there or not, but here I can’t see them even on the map. Few of them starting to appear after some time  I know game is not fully next-gen because of Xbox One, but it is at least partially next-gen so things like this should work even better than in previous games. Next-gen is not only about graphics, it’s everything - graphics, sound, AI, physics, even multiplayer. I hope they will do something about other players visibility in Horizon Life because it looks kinda… I dont’t know… weird

In FH4, you have sessions that allowed up to 70-80 people. So you could see many people on the map, thats one of the reasons. FH5 apparently can only “afford” sessions of 10-15 people at a time…
The other problem is, of course, the connectivity. It was not perfect in FH4, but in FH5 things got way worst. You could think it should be the other way around… but apparently in this franchise, things can only get worst…

It’s a big shame this doesn’t work like it should. One of my best experiences in FH4 was when I was fairly new to the game. I went to the highway where random people meet and races. One day I turned up and there was Jay Leno! Whether it was really him or not is not relevant but I pretend it was him. Anyway we race a few times and although I race perfectly he would always win. Well actually he would destroy me. We start chatting and that’s when he tells me about the fastest car in the game, the Ferrari FXX and although it costed 20 mill at the time he offered to give me one. The point being this encounter with another random player was great, and many more encounters like this followed. However in FH5 I haven’t had any because as you all say they teleport to another dimension.

That’s another reason to ditch quick chat and Forza Link and get back to proper online mic to mic meetings.
Like I say - I refuse to use quick chat or Link, so sorry to anybody who’s said Hi in the past and I ignored it. Just don’t think it’s a proper way to get Interactive with other players.
and yes - anybody you get close to just runs and hides - where’s the interaction in that ?
