Game demo seems to be more difficult than FH

So I downloaded the FH2 demo (bit excessive at 10 GB but maybe it’s the full game waiting to be unlocked?) and am playing it a bit. Right at the beginning when you drive the race through the fields I can hardly catch up with the other drivers on difficulty Medium. This continues throughout the game. The whole driving seems to be more difficult than FH (1) on the Xbox 360. Do other users think the same or is it just me? Also I think the steering is a bit unpleasantly indirect. There always seems to be a delay between moving the stick and the car following suit. But then again, I noticed this in Forza 5 as well, so maybe it’s an Xbox One thing I will need to get used to?

Last but not least the vibrating triggers are unpleasant in my opinion. Will I be able to switch them off? And can I select a different ingame language in the retail version? I can’t set my Xbox One to English as my region is Germany and this console locks language and region. :frowning:

Thanks!

I find the difficulty to be the same as in Horizon. Also the race to the Festival is rigged. The LaFerrari seems to be rubber banded to the player and no matter how many cars you pass there seems to always be more up ahead. I could be wrong though as I’m not the fastest racer, however I’ve gotten pretty good at the run to the festival and there is always just one more car up ahead.

It’s possible there is rubberbanding in FH2. In FH1, there was a lot of catch-up.

There is rubber banding in the showcase events, it’s to make it more close exciting racing. So it’s likely in normal races too. But I have no problem beating the Drivatars on higher difficulty levels.
As for the steering not responding as quickly, well you’re on dirt roads, dusty fields, wet tarmac etc, so it may feel slower to respond because it is.
Also, you can always turn the difficulty down if you’re struggling. The point of gaming is to enjoy yourself, not have an embolism! lol

Frankly I hope the difficulty moves at a more normal pace than 1. I thought The beginning and middle were pretty easy, then with flint it was like he gained a half a lap every time you crashed or if you didn’t jump him near the start he got faster and faster. With so many more races I really hope it increases normally

FH was too easy so its much better, nice to have a challenge for once, but im getting it for the 360 and hope the AI are better than robots, One version looks and sounds awesome!

I think with the race to the festival, you were never meant to get there first. If I remember correctly, I thought I heard the guy say “It’s not a race to get to the festival first, but you don’t want to be the last to arrive right?”.

I think the best way in to fit a difficulty where you have a good fight even if you don’t win first time. You could replay the races you didn’t win, using lower drivatar level later.
I think drivatars are tough AI
Did someone know if you also get gold medal if you finish 2nd or 3rd (like in FM5)? I have won maybe 60% of the races I made in FM5
I think I took medium difficulty and did not win 1st offroad race.

I could sure confirm rubberband in demo showcase event as I winning with small margin, having 3 times with times ranging from 2.19 to 2.2

It doesn’t work like that. You earn points towards a championship standing.

Yeah, I’m usually a pretty decent racer. Most of my times in FM are in the top 1%, but I was struggling in FH2. The first offroad race (I used the Bowler) I came 8th, tried it again and came 12th (I did have a bad crash though…), then the second race in the rain I came 4th. I’m sure once I get used to the controls (using a TX), it’ll get better.

I used to have a problem with rubberbanding in showcase events. However I did remember that those Top Gear challenge races are shot in a way to make them appear to have close finishes, and the actual footage of the car(s) driving are taken after the actual race. So I decided to accept the fact that they are rubberbanded. I like to think of it as we’re trying to provide a show for the spectators to watch, so the pilots of the planes slow down occasionally to match the car as it goes through checkpoints, then make a very close finish at the end. So I just enjoy the epic visual spectacle and drive as fast as I can to impress the crowd
