Game crashes, bugs and other issues

Game keeps crashing at different scenarios.

info:
Windows 10
GTX 970, overclocked to 1485mhz core / 3903mhz memory, running driver 376.09 (i have been testing drivers from the newest to one of the oldest i could find and this performs best, -for maxwell, with less crashes and more solid fps in both game and menus, even though menu tends to stutter sometimes)
i7-3820 overclocked to 4.3ghz
16GB ram 1600mhz
SSD
500w psu
Internet connection: Ethernet cable, 25/25

I am running the game on ultra settings at 1080p with v-sync, 115% rendering at solid 60fps.
Game tend to crash:
*At start screen IF msi afterburner is enabled, disabled it starts most of the time.
*After finnishing race, in the transition menu to load next map/race.
*Multiplayer, loading map/race
*Browsing through cars
*Browsing through different colors
*Browsing through rims

I have tried running the game with less and normal clock speeds on the gpu but it still crashes at random times.
lowering graphics,
and as mentioned above, tried different drivers.

There is also many glitches and bugs inside the game, which is everything from gliching shadows from cars in night races, to textures sometimes disappearing and reappearing, multiplayer fps drops, some car lacks windshield wipers and the rain does not hit the windshield. Avatar not always shifting gear(visually) and random audio freezes… this is just some of them, there is probably many more which is yet to discover.
Sometimes i get random frame rate spikes, almost looks like prosessor is having a hard time but it really is not. The cpu usually is in a place of 25-50% usage and never goes above 65C.
Apart from this, the game runs ok, it never crashes in race, but the weakspot is in the menus and loading.

Also i would like to say that,
I find it very disturbing that the game is what it is, the skies and weather seems good. But come on… the 2D trees, and perhaps a sliiight improvement on track and rain graphics but tbh it looks similar to forza 6… and on top of the cake the game is not fully optimized?.. its just a big shame.
And for the record, where is multiplayer drift, and where is the rewarding lucky wheel spins ??

This is the final time i pre purchase anything that looks promising. The only good i see in this, is that it is playable on a computer instead of a limited graphics console. And also that the Honnicorn mustang was a beast!

I am also having the same problems.

1060 6gig
i7 4790
8 gig DDR3
running 1080p/60fps/High

Haven’t been able to play any MP since it CTD’s every time I join a lobby. We need a patch or some answers.

run the game on render medium settings it works btw i have 2 gtx980s

Yes it is more stable when you render it down, but crashes eventually at one point…
And still, this mess should have been cleaned out a long time before the game released.

Can you please try disabling Game Mode, Game DVR and Game Bar in the Windows Game settings. Also in the Windows Control Panel, change your power options to high performance plan if not already set to that. Lastly, change your power management mode in the Nvidia control panel to prefer maximum performance.

If you are still experiencing this after doing the above suggestions, please email forzafb@microsoft.com with details regarding your experience and the following files.

Dxdiag file
• Press the Windows key and type “dxdiag”
• Click the Save All Information… button and save the text document to your desktop

THP Files
• You can find these files by going to
C:\Users[username]\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.ApolloBaseGame_8wekyb3d8bbwe\AC\Temp\Turn10Temp.scratch
• The AppData file maybe hidden so in file explorer, you will need to enable hidden files by going to View, Options, View tab and clicking the radio button for Show hidden files, folders and drives.

Task List
• Launch the game
• Open a cmd prompt
• Type ‘tasklist > “path to .txt file”
• i.e: tasklist > C: asklist.txt

you’s guys want a short term fix run the game at render medium settings i went for high to medium on the render setting because my game would crash every 5 minutes so far its working heaps better i played for 6 hours without a crash

Hello Soy

I have already
Disabled Game mode, Game DVR and Game Bar. Running high performance power plan and changed power management in nvidia 3D settings…

Regarding those information files, do i have to play the game until it crashes and then save a copy of them or can i just send them now right away?

Come to think of, I turned on Game DVR yesterday to stream, no issues… how come it can inflict issuies now? And always got MSI AfterBurner on…

My game keeps on freezing mostly during cutscenes, audio like the speech keeps on going but the picture freezes and I can’t proceed from there so I have to close the game through Windows where it actually shuts down immediately leading me to think there wasn’t lots of brain activity going on anymore. Funnily I haven’t had any computer related crashes while driving, you would think that the actual racing would be much more demanding on the system than the cutscenes and the menus. But yeah, been checking out if a patch has come out a few times a day, that for some reason hasn’t happened even though it seems I’m not really the only one who has these problems.

Don’t really feel like playing when it’s like one out of three times I can get through the menus and narrative without the game freezing at some point before the FIRST race, I haven’t yet done two cup races in a row without the game not crashing when getting rewards etc. because the game freezes at some point before the second race, luckily I bought the deluxe version so I could play a bit earlier! My setup is similar to the ones mentioned above, i7 at 3.6 GHz, 12 GBs of RAM and a 980 Ti, the benchmark gives an average FPS of 50-60 with almost everything on full at 2560x1440 though the game stutters so the minimum fps is usually only under 20.

I run the game on medium since launch (even though I could easily run it at high and maybe above) just to make sure the game have breathing room and it keeps crashing anyway…:frowning: it seems to be crashing a lot when its loading between races especially if the next race is loading and you try to load car in the select car. Its very annoying because this can happen 5 times a day if you play a lot.

EDIT : It seems my vc redist was out of date since I updated to the 2017 latest version the game looks more stable hasnt crash yet will update if it does

Thank you for pointing that out, it appears i too lack that update and will try it out and see how the game runs.

Edit: The game crashed after the corvette showcase, which is 23 laps and i made it in 57minutes. Later in the reward menu screen, the milestone points counter went crazy and it crashed the game.
Next it crashed when i was loading the map in the next series i picked. And later on i just went to my garage and scrolled through the cars and it crashed after some time.

Round 2 of the unplayable forza games on PC and no patches or repairs that actually work (FH3 all over again). Xbox blames Turn10,
Turn10 too busy counting our money and boohoo to us for trusting them. Worst customer service of ANY company i’ve
ever dealt with. The automated email you get back pretty much stating if they feel like it, they’ll reply. nice one guys!

Also getting crashes in the out of race stuff (changing wheels, paint, etc.). Sometimes the game crashes and I have to restart Windows just to get the game to load again. All this hitching and stuttering both in the races and in the menus and then crashes to boot.

FM6:Apex, FH3, and now FM7. Same problems. This is unacceptable. Get your act together T10.

The reason that the game crashes as we go through cars, paints and rims etc is because of memory leak.
The game usually use between 7000-10000mb ram,
and when you are browsing through -cars,paint,rims,etc you will see it just rises and rises.
It does not normalize it self for a time, or until a race or two is passed by…
So if you browse around long enough, your memory rises all the way up to your cap (16000mb/32000mb) which results that the game crashes.

The stuttering appears to be because of that the game only utilize 1 cpu core most of the time, instead of spreading its information out evenly to the other cores.

They made a minor update yesterday, but they did not fix the memory leak nor the cpu allocation.
