I have the same error. It crashes on multiplayer start if my video options are on CUSTOM.
Usually can start MP race if I set them on DEFAULT, but sometimes happens during a race too.

I’ve been playing Gran Turismo Sport for over a week and haven’t had the game crash once. The last time I played Forza Motorsport 7 it crashed 5 times in one night, all from Multiplayer.
I don’t own GT sport, nor care to as a PC gamer. So that’s kinda of irrelevant. In any case, MS and Turn 10 knowingly shipping a product is such a hideous state is not something to take lightly or brush off with “relax dude”. Respectfully, its a major consumer issue that’s become far too commonplace. Only for the fact that EULA’s and software licencing is such a legal minefield and grey area allows these corporations to sell a product with such lax quality controls.
While you can “put up” with its issues at present; You should not have too in the first place.
R9 270x is above min specs, as listed on the games store page. Im playing at 720p medium dynamic 60 fps v-sync. Gameplay is almost always smooth as silk, with only minor fps drops once or twice (likely due to swap file usage). The game crashes the gpu driver, then has a memory crash as it cant recover the driver properly. V-ram usage is high, but as I said, it has no impact on performance as the core is only at 60% usage in races.
Also the new windows version added GPU monitoring to the task manager. You dont need Afterburner for that any more.
I bought this game, have had nothing but trouble from it. Crashes, stuttering (in races and menus, although the racing stutter for me is the one and only deep hate).
I am about to refund this trash as I have had enough. I held out for an update, and unfortunately this update has not helped. In many ways it has worsened the stutter.
I advise people to do the same. You will not see an update for a while.
Yay VIP credits is activated. And upgrades menu doesn’t crash for me anymore. Scrolled through many of the rim menus on 2 different cars and RAM usage stays the same. It’s quite laggy but at least it doesn’t crash.
I just plugged in my G920 to my dusty-old Xbone. Playing Forza 6… The only thing I miss is the M5 E60. Other than that, it is hard to justify playing FM7 over this. I am having so much fun!! With this little patch that did nothing to fix the enormous problems that riddle this game, I honestly give up. Enjoy my money, T10. Nevr again will I pre-order a Forza game, or even buy until I’m 100% sure it is a finished product and it’s also up to the standards of the old real Forza games.
