Well the game has a memory leak big time, so maybe that causes the Access Violation’s all the time.

This occurs when picking cars as-well, thought it only occurs in MP but it happens in SP all the time, regardless of filter. If for example you scroll for ferraris it will crash, or in campaign if you scroll to the GT series it will happen every time regardless of system. It is 100% a memory leak i have 32 gb or ram and i cannot scroll thru the cars. It was not like this before the last patch that repaired the rewind and texture flickering…

This is so frustrating…

same problem (especially in multiplayer during loading screen :frowning: )
Crash to desktop without any message , I suspect memory leak too

But I ve no crash during race ! only at loading screen in multiplayer race , definetely we really need a fix soon…

I’m in the same boat as Bawdy, game rarely crashes during racing, I think it crashed once during a race. But I can crash it on queue in menus. All I gotta do is try to select a wheel. My favorite wheel is the Speedline down near the end of the row. 3 out of 4 times trying to get that far over will crash the game. Happens not just there but in car selections and upgrade and tuning screens. Frequently attempting to save a tune.

Oddly, Forza Horizon 3 was EXACTLY the same and likely still is. They never fixed it while I was playing that game so likely they won’t fix it in this one. I’m just thankful it doesn’t crap out during racing for me.

I started crashing after I updated the game and my Nvidia drivers. Once I reverted back to the 385.41 drivers, I stopped crashing. Worth a try for any Nvidia users.

Same for me, game got worst in terms of crashing and frame drops after last update and last nvidia drivers.

I am getting more or less the exact issue, both in single and multiplayer but I think it’s worst when trying to race online. This was not the case prior to the last patch.

Glad I found these forums because I thought it was memory problems on my pc. I mostly crash to desktop when normally scrolling menus . Now Im seeing this game has the memory loss.

Another user had suggested using a program called ‘Wise memory optimizer’ and running a windowed game, and when the monitoring program showed that the ram usage was getting too high, you would manually click ‘optimize’ and it would sort things out. This wasn’t very practical. Instead I tried setting the automatic optimizer to engage when there was only about 950mb available (I have 8 gb total). This has honestly seemed to help, though it didn’t eliminate the problem totally. I’ve crashed once in the last two hours, and I was doing a lot of tuning and upgrading. It’s at least playable and hasn’t crashed mid race, which was happening constantly before. Check this out and see if it at least helps you out a bit as a temporary fix.

Ok, I know most of you are saying that the game is crashing DURING gameplay or at least while in the menus… Here’s my new dilemma, as of about 20 min ago, for me it’s now crashing immediately. I click on the Icon, Logo pops up for a couple seconds, and boom… Desktop. [Mod Edit - Abbreviated profanity, profanity and profanity that is disguised but still alludes to the words are not permitted - D] ppl. Seriously. $100 later, and somewhere around 200 wasted GB of data (due to the fact that i originally couldn’t get past 20GB of the game downloading before the download would restart back to 0%. had to sign up for win insider to get pre-release updates to fix that). 30 min ago, i was playing and it was working fine… here’s ALL i did before it started crashing instantly, I went into gfx settings and increased msaa from 4x to 6x. or maybe it was 6 - 8… either way, this is absolutely uncalled for. I miss the days when developers would finish a game completely and test everything before just throwing it out there with absolutely no [Mod Edit - Abbreviated profanity, profanity and profanity that is disguised but still alludes to the words are not permitted - D] given. as long as they make that fast cash right?

idc what it takes. FIX IT. I work my ass off all week long, take care of my infant, and take crap left and right every day from every angle… and when I HAPPEN to have a moment of peace and i sit down to play this game… it gives me the finger over and over. I’m just about done.

UPDATE*

DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK. Obviously. didn’t work for someone else that tried.

So someone started another thread with same issue, I posted there too, but just in case this helps anyone who may look:

WHAT FIXED IT FOR ME: Signed up for windows insider from control panel and agreed to download pre release updates and Windows builds, just like I stated there^ This morning when I booted up, I figured ehh screw it I’ll give it a shot, maybe the update made it work somehow… It did. go figure.

So Far so good. I’ll update if it [Mod Edit - Abbreviated profanity, profanity and profanity that is disguised but still alludes to the words are not permitted - D] up again. dunno if this will work for anyone else but it worked for me

Tired of this game crashing turn 10 you should be ashamed of the pc version i have played early access games that are more stable you would thing this game was made by a dodgy studio

I have this problem in the multiplayer Xbox One Fat, the sound stops and the screen is black, then the game is closed. Multiplayer animations do not move smoothly (as if it were a problem in the speed of access to the hard disk or the processor).

I’m also getting this. Game randomly crashes before or after a multiplayer race, it crashes browsing through upgrade options too quickly. It occasionally freezes mid race with a momentary black screen.

I’m running an i5 6400, 16gb ddr4 mem, gtx 1070 8gb, windows 10 home 64bit. Nvidia driver 387.92.

Same here, game crashin the menus o forza driver’s cup and starting a multiplayer race… how can i fix it?

Constant crashing every time I change livery or get awarded new car. 2 hours endure racing and get nothing. i7 4790K, 32Gb Memory, GTX980.

Having the same issue, it gets even worse if I try multiplayer and I’ve already lost hundreds of thousands of credits from these crashes

didn’t play for more than a week, just gave it another shot, guess what?

CTD, always after 30 min of playing, while racing or in after-race menu
