During the latest series of the monthly Forzathon, I noticed that the French translations are poor or incomplete. This can be confusing, as the directions are wrong.
This has happened in the past, but this season there are many instances.
from 02/05 to 09/05 a daily mission was entitled “Réalisez une prouesse Donnez la charge au volant de l’Ariel Atom 500 V8 de 2013.” imported from English, only in French the feat is listed in the game as “Coup de soleil”: and that has nothing to do with it.
From 09/05 to 16/05 another daily mission entitled “Vol de Transit : Obtenez 3 étoiles au panneau danger Piste au volant de n’importe quelle Ford Transit.”. In French, this one’s full name is “Piste d’aéroport”.
Incidentally, in this challenge, both the electric Supervan and the DonutMedia Edition didn’t work… even though they are indeed Transits.
I’ve noticed others, but I haven’t recorded them, so I’ll add them as I go along if I find any glaring translation errors that compromise players’ understanding and identification of the tasks.
Google Translate definitely needs to improve!
Same thing with the Swedish translations since i started playing the game about a year ago, often the info is wrong or very vague, so you get stuck doing the wrong things, if you don`t look up the challenge on youtube or here at the forum.
In FH4 the game set to English by default for me, wish FH5 was that so, would make it so much easier and more correct.
I don’t understand why there isn’t at least 1 contact person for each nation in charge of checking if the translations are correct before launching the update.
It might be tedious, but a very simple task for someone whose native language is who is also passionate about Forza. This doesn’t even need any specific remuneration.

But yes, expressions sometimes have nothing to do from one language to another, this can generate a lot of confusion in understanding tasks.

It obviously does not work out how they are doing it now. They need to change something because now we are at a point were it is outright ridiculous.
I assume that they had professional translations for all foreign languages texts existing at game launch and also some time afterwards - depending on contracts.
But latest after a year into the game that ended and since then the translations severely degraded.
This is one reason I play Forza Horizon games not in my mother language but in English. I remember in FH4 on some occasions where the non-English texts in the Festival Playlist were just plain wrong - like listing a wrong car for the given task. The language quality of the translation was no better.
