Freeze lag / stutter

Rio is undriveable. Starts stuttering by turn 1. Coupled with the meh handling, driving is a challenge for the wrong reasons

This happens to me, In the menu’s and loading screens. I did something in Nvidia CP, then changed it back, still happens.

same here,
if dont want lag or stutter,
restart race again,

so may be not a hardware problem…
hope turn 10 fix it soon

Thank you for all your reports about this issue, we’ll pass this on for investigation.

As an aside, have those of you who are suffering from this problem tried turning down your graphics settings, or alternatively try running the game at a locked 30fps setting? If you have, does the issue still persist?

I am running an

I5 3350
GTX 970 STRIX
12 GB DD3 RAM
2 x 500 GB drives running Raid 0.
Playing via XBOX ONE wireless adapter.

I can put this game on LOW settings and it will still stutter. Also note I am not getting thermals over 60 on the GPU and CPU, so I don’t think it’s throttling (I always dust out my PC every month and like it cool)

Minus RIO, every other track I am running well over 60 FPS even if I go ULTRA at 1080P, but I get microstutters all the time.

Cultofmush’s video shows a minor version of the stuttering. It’s not much, but it’s super distracting.

Yes I know I’m a little under the ideal CPU, but when I am getting the stuttering in LOW settings, something isn’t right.

Sorry, we do not do 30fps. This is PC. Forza should always be 60fps and above anyway. Please have the team optimize further.

I try to download resolution, fps limit, settings on nvidia panel…and nothing happens, continues with problems.

I’m having the same issue, infinity stutters when I play more than 2 or 3 races in a row. I noticed on MSI Afterburner the use of RAM is only 8~9GB, but the use of page file is insane, something between 12~22GB. My GPU and CPU only uses 40~70% when I’m playing with all the graphics settings maxed out, but when I start the second or third race, the game start to stutter and don’t stop even if I change the graphics to the minimum possible.

I “solved” the problem making 1GB RAMDISK using DATARAM, but only to test, because I don’t like to let my Windows without page file.

Now I’ll test to play with keyboard, because I’m playing with XOne controller USB plugged.

My PC specs: i5 4670k @ 4,4GHz, 16GB DDR3 1866MHz, GTX 970 Windforce, SSD Samsung EVO 840 250GB.

I have the stuttering problem both in the cut scenes and in the races, right from the very beginning. It makes the game unplayable.

My PC is an overclocked i7-4770k and an overclocked 780ti with 8GB of system memory. I am using a wired Xbox 360 controller. I don’t have any problems with other games, iRacing, Project CARS, Assetto Corsa, rFactor 2 - both using a normal screen and using Rift VR.

I have tried turning the graphics right down to minimum and it seems to make the problem worse! Using Nvidia Inspector I’ve also tried various Vsync settings and frame capping but none of them help.

I’ve just updated my PC from 8GB to 16GB and all stuttering has gone for me now, even in Ultra it is perfectly smooth.

Controller was a good idea, but it doesn’t help here…
Stuttering with and without wireless xbone controller on 1080p,1440p and 2160p.
Min, Max, Ultra… nothing helped.
It’s annoying Q.Q
That’s the only game that lags so hard.

2500k 4,5GHZ 16GB 2133Mhz GTX970 1516Mhz GPU
60 Fps is no Problme but when you play longer it came to stutter.

Hi everyone

I and many others Inside testers know the problem with the gamepad Bug. For some it occurs strong and in others only slightly. There are also many reports of Windows Inside testers at Microsoft about this bug. Once the XBox360 Pad or XBox One pad Connected is traveling certain processes upwards (CPU load) or ensures FPS Drops.

The only known solution (but it works in very many testers and also friends of mine) is the following:
##########################################

  1. Ensure you’re using a 64-bit copy of Windows 10

  2. Install the Debugging Tools for Windows (standalone)

  3. Open the folder the tools were installed to in an elevated command prompt (as Admin) like this:

cd C:\program files (x86)\Windows Kits\10\Debuggers\x64\

  1. Carefully issue the following command: cdb -pn dwm.exe -c “.symfix;eb ism32k!DesktopInputDisplay::GetBounds+29 eb 04;.detach;”

  2. After the PC Restart - Gamepad plug and the system is much better (not at all but many)

Happy Gaming and let me know whats your Results of it

Care to explains what those lines do?

Did a search and this write up came up:

Hello guys, i got GTX 650 Ti and when i play first race after launching forza, everything is allright it runs 60fps with no drop, but when i than load second race, the game turns into UNPLAYABLE piece of (you know what). :frowning: Another specs: i3-3240 3.40 ghz, 8 GB RAM. Can i do something to fix it?

Hello. Yet another person with the same issue. The game is unplayable for me due to it and I haven’t figured out the cause or a fix. I did monitor the GPU performance during a few races to maybe give some idea of what is going on. I haven’t verified it but it seems like the game usually runs fine at the start but the stutter starts within minutes and/or instantly after an Alt+Tab to another application. Stutter doesn’t go away. Lowering graphical settings causes the average frame rate to rise but doesn’t help with the stutter. I noticed that for some reason on lowered graphical settings the GPU is running at roughly half its capacity even without a V-Sync or an FPS limiter in use.

Edit:

Specs:

i7 4770k @ 4.3 Ghz, HT on
16 GB RAM
GTX 780 with OC, driver version 365.19
Game and OS both installed on a Samsung EVO 840 256 GB SSD

Exactly this. My 970 will stop working at 99% after a while into the game, about the first race the game starts to be unplayably stuttering and the GPU usage drops. Some times it stutters the first race I am in.

i5-6600K
PNY GTX980
SSD
High settings, 60FPS lock 1080p
Stuttering showed up on the first Night Race, around the same turns each lap.

Game looks BEAUTIFUL especially in the rain. Wowzers

My first stutter started exactly there. at first i thought it was some background apps or something then second one in the exact same place in 2nd lap then everywhere now every few race.
