Just a TEST for people that are a bit savvy: if you have more 12GB of RAM in your PC, can you try running the game WITHOUT a pagefile present in your Windows and without an active virusscanner?

It might sound obvious to some but pagefiles always get used for the wrong reasons and since even NVME PCIe SSD’s are slower in random read/write than RAM, it could cause stuttering in almost every application (including games).

Looking forward to your results; my PC is a bit more underpowered than most machines mentioned in this thread but running 1080p on a GTX960 and I have experienced 0 stutters. Then again, I never used pagefiles and rely heavily on RAM (I always but my PC’s with double the RAM needed for the current games at purchase) meaning I have 16GB but should be upgrading to 32GB soon.

Same ugly stuttering here:

CPU: AMD FX-8350@4.4GHz
RAM: 16GB DDR3 1866MHz
GPU: AMD Fury-X (Crimson 16.5.1)
SSD: Samsung 850 Pro
Monitor: LG 27MU67-B (Freesync On & Off)

It has memory leak, so as soon as it eats all the RAM it starts to stutter.

I hope that they will fix it soon, I really like it but cant enjoy it since i have to quit game after every race.

Well, here it is 8 months later and the memory leak still plagues this game. After I’ve run one race, where frame rates stay around 60 FPS, I quit the game and restart it before trying to advance to the next race in career mode. If I try to run two different races back to back, Forza Apex becomes a stammering slide show.

Well Forza is still in Beta, so it’s probably not 100% stable yet. i’ve read other posts and it might be related to multiple monitors (dual screen setups) and extreme high refresh rates and such.

With all these stuttering problems, I’m getting kind of worried now if i’ll run into the same issue for when my gtx 980 ti arrives. currently knock on wood I don’t have any stuttering issues with my gtx 680.

I’ll keep this thread in mind for when I upgrade my GPU.

I’m having stutter issue too. On the first lap of any race, it stutters a bit, then they disappera. But when I load the next track, the stutters come back, and are much heavier.

I play the game on the minimum settings, and when it doesn’t stutter, is very playable, above 30/40 fps.
Could be a BUG with RAM or VRAM usage?

I Have the same Problem! PLEASE FIX THAT!!
I have the last drivers on all devices in my computer!
This event is so random!, Memory leek or something and a problem with the V-sync images, I do not understand what it is!

I’m stuttering a lot with a new gtx 970 about lap two of any race. I have seen video of others running the gtx 970 on ultra with no problems. I did some poking, I cannot find the client location to add it manually to the nvidia control pannel, however I did notice something. When I play I’m playing with an xbox one gamepad wired in with the usb cable. I switch (didn’t unplug) to the keyboard and the stutter dis appeared. All of us that have stutter are we all using the gamepad??

btw, do you have 8GB of RAM (i guess you do), it really runs great, they only need to fix this memory leak, because it eats RAM quickly and then it caches it to HDD that is when stuttering start,
also for any of you that use nVidia GPUs, go to your Nvidia Control Panel and under 3D settings disable Shader Cache (it wont stop stuttering but it will help a bit)

Hi!!! Thanks, Fix my game, disable shader cache on Nvidea fix my game, and fix the game on my friends that has nvidia
Thanks a lot! The game became a little more playable!

np, i am glad that i could help, btw dont forget after every new driver you install you will need to disable it again

I’m not sure why you quoted me, and then didn’t respond to my point? However to answer do I have the 8 gigs of required ram, as in did I check the min requirements once I had an issue >> Yes, I have 32 gigs of ram on this pc.

The stuttering is from the high resolution textures. turn track textures to low and vehicle textures to med. Remember that you only have 2GB of vram! my 680 struggles with the textures as well!

So I played around some more with the game pads. With the Xbox one pad plugged in, about lap two the stuttering starts. Pause the game. Click the keyboard a few times until it switches from gamepad to keyboard, then un-pause. Bam no more stuttering. So since we all downloaded the same game, and there are videos on you tube of peeps playing this with my card and spec or lower and not having the issue. I wonder if it is something to do with peripherals. I plugged in an old 360 wired (yes I know its old) game pad and it gave me stutter instantly from lap one. I’m curious if the guys and gals who are not experiencing the stutter (assuming they have the same drivers and client as the rest of us) are just playing with keyboards?

Somebody with stutter switch to keyboard and let me know if it effects your game at all as well >>

You’ve hit the nail on the head!!! I’ve had nasty stutter, especially on Rio & Yas Marine, turned settings down way past where I should’ve had to, and still had unplayable frame rates/stuttering. Was about to uninstall & just wait for wheel support & fixes, then came across your post. Unplugged my xBox 360 wireless controller, switched over to keyboard only, and BOOM, smooth as butter. Now running at 2560x1600, everything on ultra & its VERY playable, just, you know. . . I’m trying to control a car with a keyboard. facepalm

Yep. Worked for me too. Unplugging my wired Xbox 360 controller and switching to the keyboard eliminated all stuttering.

Changing graphics settings did nothing for me.

I am also experiencing stuttering and freezes. I have tried running at medium and low but the results are the same. My specs are as follows:

Intel i5 3570k @ 4.0 Ghz
Nvidia GTX 770 2 GB with 365.10 driver
8 GB RAM
