Forzathon LIVE (angry)

Hello there fellow racers,

since I didn´t have enouth points to get every car and clothing from this week´s Forzathon-Shop, I decided to participate in some Forzathon Live events.

To be honest: I never enjoied those events. Why? Because of the more or less minor issue that some players decide to relax and let the other participants do the work.

Anyway, I needed the points and I was also a bit curious about if there has been done something about the “black sheeps” who don´t participate in the event but get to enjoy the rewards anyway…

And what I had so witness angered me… really.

People don´t just decide to NOT participate in the event… They even give their best to show it to everyone who does!

To give an example: Third stage of a Forzathon live event; stunt challenge; multiple players parked their cars inside the two flags where the jump “begins”…

For a minute? No! For the whole time that we (the other players who gave their best to make progress) took to finish it.

And those players who parked in the zone were also the ones who didn´t participate in any other event prior…

In my opinion it is really sad to see these names over and over again, in every stage, without being kicked or even banned from Forzathon live events…

But that´s not all!

People who literally try their best every single time have to compensate for those lazy as****es…

And when I try to do (for example by using fast travel to the next stage of the event) I always (I really mean always!) get spawned with my back to the “mission”…

So I really don´t know why this is a thing…

I mean, if you exit from a team adventure, you´ll get banned from it for a certain amount of time.

Great! This is the only way to filter out the real players from the brainless humps of sh*t!

But why do the lazy people in Forzathon live events get rewards instead of bans?

Thank you for reading through my rage and thank you more for any constructive answer!

Greetings
Henrik

Apparently if they dont actually participate they don’t get the rewards

I feel an easy fix is you only get points for the events you participate in so if you only score in one event of three you’ll get 20 points instead of 60. Of course that won’t discourage everyone but I think it’ll help curb the problem.

It would be something, that´s for sure…

But there would still be the risk of trolls who get their 20 points and who will spend the rest of the event to ruin the whole 60 points for the others (for example by sitting in “the objective” doint nothing)…

Anyway, this would be a first step to counter this “problem”.
Thank you for your answer!

This is a combination of freeloading and extortion. The extortion angle is they’re basically sitting there saying “earn me 60 forzathon points, or you won’t get your own 60 forzathon points”. One thing that prevents this sort of attitude from being more successful in the real world is that some people are willing to become worse off to prevent an extortionist from winning. So the analogy in the game would be for everyone in the forzathon live to join them in remaining stationary, willing to sacrifice their own forzathon points to ensure the extortion strategy doesn’t work. If everyone always responded in this way, the strategy would never work, and attempting it would become rare.

They wouldn’t care. The solution is to have a points system, not only does it fix the problem, but it improves the Forzathon as well.

I participate often. Usually 10 times a week or more. More often than not we get done in about 5 -7 minutes. I am not bothered by the freeloaders. There have been a very, very times where we only got 40 points (and one of those times it was only me participating)

I do not like the suggestion of only getting points in the events in which you score and here is why. On occasion there are so many taking part that by the time I get to the event we already have enough points by the time I finish one attempt. Also, I have been in a situation where I get a failed drift or failed jump on my first attempt (not often) so again, we have enough points before I get in a good score. I don’t like the idea of my trying, but failing so I don’t get points just so that the freeloaders don’t get any points.

Just my thoughts

I respekt your opinion, but do you really don´t care to be the ONLY ONE who “works” for the points?

Please don´t get me wrong, this would really impress me, but on the other hand, this is what encourages other players (low and high level) to become a “freeloader”.

Nice word, by the way, I´ll try to use this now instead of “lazy people”

Greetings!

Thank you for your replies, I am happy to see that I am not the only one who would like to do something about this.

And while I agree to what you said, breeminator, there are three problems that come to my mind:

  1. Nobody gets the desired points
  2. There will be always someone who don´t want to do this/ who doesn´t unerstand WHY the lazy people just sit there/ who just wants some points
  3. We would give them what they want (and this is attention; Don´t feed the trolls!).

So to keep it short: In my opinion this is bugusing what the lazy people do. Just sit back for a couple of minutes and get a nice reward for it.

And therefore I don´t think I would be unfair to kick those players for a certain amount of time.
I am not even saying that is has to be a harsh punishment… everybody gets distracted from the game…

So if it happens… no problem.

If it happens twice: a ban for the next 5 Forzathon live events.

If it happens three times a week: a ban for Forzathon live events for the whole season.

If you are banned three times in a row for a whole season, you´ll get a permanent bann for Forzathon live events.

I mean, I´m not a game developer, but this sounds everything but unfair for me, what do you guys think?

Can´t be too hard to implement, either…

I am not sure how you would decide who gets kicked. As long as someone is at least driving around, it would be hard to tell who is trying and who isn’t, especially since it takes a bit to get from event to event in each Forzathon Live adventure.

You are right, even if there would be a system, it could be tricked…

It couldn’t be tricked because the game is already monitoring us to work out if we are going to pass the Forzathon. With that monitoring already in place it is easy to adapt it to specific cars passing the lines of speed zones, and jumps. How many times you succeed in any event will put you in a ranking system, and driving around doesn’t score any points. If you don’t participate you will end up at the bottom of the list… no points, no Credits. Last 5 places no credits.

If all of the points are scored before you get there… too bad.

such a catastrophically bad idea. And what happens when you get an event with less than 5 players? do they all just miss out by default? or if theres 6 players does only 1 person get paid even if all players were taking part? Also this again means if you dont play cookie cutter no brain mode you get nothing anyway. As a consequence, just delete every single car thats not the number 1 leaderboard car from the game because if you use a non leaderboard car you get nothing because “reasons”.

forza lives are not racing they shouldnt give bonus/competitive prizes especially if such bonus prizes are based on who can be the most boring and pick generic tuned hypercar #3205527. Maybe it should give bonus payouts to anyone who DOESNT pick a cookie cutter, ie something below S class. That would really throw a spanner in the works

Then you would get 1st 2nd 3rd prize which is more FP.

As I already said, I couldn’t support this at all. Last 5 places, really? Somtimes that is all that are participating. After a few times of people actually trying and not getting full points, I am sure they would not participate again and eventually there many not be enough players who do.

No, I find this to be a terrible idea. I think you are waaaay over thinking an issue that really isn’t an issue, when there are so many more things that need to be fixed in this game (ie Rammers)

First three get top tier points so it eliminates only five players in the event. The top credits will be higher than they are now, but the bottom credits will be removed.

A good strategy I used to use was to just fast travel to the next Forzathon Live event if I was too far away or falling behind. That way it isn’t over by the time I get there like you mentioned earlier. Your loading times might be different than mine depending on hardware but it might be worth a try.

WOW!!! That never occurred to me (duh!) I will give that a go next time. Thank you for this suggestion.

Best solution: ignore them and get on with life. Them being there doesn’t affect the difficulty of the tasks, nor does it diminish the reward. So they have no real impact on the event.

Fun fact:

I am currently trying to get a better driver in real life. I even have a book written in corporation with Walter Röhrl.

And one of the first things to learn from this book is to be calm, don´t get mad at other drivers, even if they drive like sh*t…

So I guess you are right. Really… The freeloaders do exist, they do what they do, but it is nothing that matters for me…

I can imagine that this is the easiest way to deal with them, but at lease for me this is not the most pleasant way, I am build to get mad about little things ^^

So thank you very much for your answer!

I mean that!
