So I’ve driven my buggies off road across open countryside for literally miles and miles, and all that has registered is 0.36 miles. I’ve tried an Ariel Nomad, the Exocet, Baja Bug, Polaris, in fact pretty much all of the buggies in my garage, but nothing happens. I’ve tried it both on the mainland and on Fortune Island, but nothing works!!!
Where’s the best place to drive around? Is this challenge bugged? What am I not doing? If I can’t complete the weekly challenge I won’t get my bonus points for the weekly/daily completeion next week
I’m on PC. I’ve restarted both the game and PC but it doesn’t make much difference. I can say that after a solid 2 hours just driving around the wind farm, and an hour driving around Fortune Island (with short breaks for Forzathon Live every hour), I’m now up to 1.97 miles… I don’t know if I’ll have enough time to complete it before Thursday at that rate. I think the game must be measuring actual miles rather than the scaled down version ;0)
Had a similar issue and noticed it took way more time than I expected it to. Then I played the Offroad Buggy seasonal championship and finished the challenge during the 2nd race. Give it a try!
Thanks for the tip… Unfortunately I just tried a CC race in the exocet and it only went up by 0.12 miles, then I tried the first race of the seasonal with the alumicraft fe and it logged 0.00 miles. I don’t think it’s treating it like real miles instead of scale miles, it more seems to occasionally register that you’re off road for a bit and then just as quickly stops for some random reason. I’ve tried different field types in different areas of both maps and tried to re-hit the areas where it seemed to register a bit of mileage, but I cant get it to repeat on any spots yet, so no idea whats triggering it to start or why it then stops.
Also playing on PC.
Other things I’ve tried: Restart game, switch to solo mode, tried making sure I didn’t cross or even get near a road for a bit. Launched my buggy off a cliff and into the ocean a few times… ok this was more frustration than testing, but it did help :D. I guess I’ll go fire up the xbone and see if its also bugged there.
