The 2003 Focus RS model is based on the USDM Focus SVT from Motorsport 1, they even share bonnets and spoilers.
Have you ever noticed how some aftermarket wheels look strange or ugly? Well, it’s also for the same reason as in cars…
And among other things, this same 3d model is also in FM8.
Oh, so this wheel is NOT supposed to look like that and it was fairly accurate on the X360
I think the game model is based on a bigger diameter version. Like the TE37 model that is in the game is based on a higher offset model (spokes not as concave as the 18x10.5 et22 size for example). While yes the two wheels are technically the same, I am assuming they originally modeled the one for the first Forza in a different size and offset than the picture you shown. That said, perfect example of updating older models of cars and wheels than just upscaling them for 4k.
So, is this a screenshot of a 2023 flagship game with a 6 year development time… ? Yikes.
Just been going through the cars of FM and all I can say is we have no chance of getting badly modelled car’s rescanned. All the ones we complain about in this game are in FM (same model barely even upscaled let alone new) considering it built from the ground up it really isn’t r32 and S15 looks the same as horizon which is a bit more than disappointing it’s disgusting and the FTO is Xbox 360 upscaled so the future of horizon seems just as bleak especially this gen so all who hope this game would get certain cars that need a refresh, don’t waste anymore time bothering, they won’t do it
I’ve been wasting my time the entire time I’ve been in the Forums. Except for contributing to adding new Fikse wheels, but that’s about it. I’m not stopping.
It’s just flagrant false advertising at this point. All t10 is capable of doing is repolishing the same piece of dung over and over again while calling it nEw.

Yeah, but FH1 got it all correct.
yeah, YYYEEEEAAAAHHHH!!! i see this is car in 4K 1920 FPS now)
This is by far the worse offender, some of the car models are horrible and not accurate, gt7 is miles ahead in terms of car models and while i do appreciate the track details the cars should be the star of the show and most of them are really horrible. Some are even mobile game level.
Small example and Celica is not even the worse:
ITS. Not It’s. “Under ITS belt”. “ITS style”. “ITS sharp edges contrast with ITS curved ones”.
How do people in 2023 still don’t know how to properly use “its” and “it’s”? Sorry, but that was painful to read.
Let me tell you one thing, im sure you may be surprised by it but… not everyone is an english native speaker you know…
I’m not a native English speaker either…
Dang I can’t believe how much better GT looks! It’s practically photorealistic!
My two cents on the modeling fidelity of these two games:
- GT7 contains details of lightbulbs behind the glass.
- Grille looks more bland in Forza
- Edge design on the side lights/grille looks boxier/sharper (negatively) in Forza.
- Some engine internals were modeled in behind the grille in GT7.
And in terms of lighting, materials in GT7 look a LOT more believable and there’s a shading artifact nearby the side light in Forza.
I know I’ve said this here before, but I’ll say it again. I have seen both the GT7 models and Forza (FM7) models outside of the games (3D modeling software) and there is absolutely no comparison. The amount of work Sony has put into their models are lightyears ahead of anything Forza has put out there. Almost every part has been modeled separately (granted, this is for photo mode and menu situations). Even the models you would see while racing are way better.
My only gripe with GT7 in this instance is their LOD distances are a bit short, and you can see some pop in with the wheels and mirrors in replays.
