Hi Guys,
I bought Forza 5 digital 2 weeks back, i m having major issues downloading this game as got some issues with my network & isp that is taking me too much time to fix,
i keep getting installation stopped message after every 5-10% & then just gets stuck on installation stopped & i have to uninstall & try again, i m fed up & wanted to know if i buy a physical disc version now which i can use to install on my hard drive, will i be able to then play the game without the disc as i own it digitally? help would be great.
The Xbox One does not allow you to play any game that isn’t a digital download without the disk inserted into the tray. So, no … you can’t just buy a physical copy of any Xbox One game to supplement the installation of a digital download. It is definitely advised to consider your internet quality before purchasing from the Xbox Marketplace.
Additionally, Forza Motorsport 5 will require you to download and install a day one title update (unless you get the “Game of the Year Edition”) to play the game and subsequent title updates in order to utilize the game’s online features. This too should be considered before you buy a physical copy; in today’s gaming age, a reliable internet connection is almost essential.
hi,
So basically even if i own a digital version of the same Xbox one game & if i try to install the same game from a psychical disc, it will install as a separate game?
have you tried this, this is super lame i feel. Why would M$ allow the same game installation files twice on the same hard drive? Hope you getting my point.
Correct. If you have a digital version, the verification of ownership comes when you logon with Xbox Live and it checks The Cloud information. With a disc version, starting the game looks to the console disc drive for verification.
If you have a gaming store locally, perhaps they have a solid Internet connection which you could use to complete your digital download properly at no charge. Otherwise, I would suggest you check this information about Networking from Xbox Support, and perhaps you can coax your connection into a better situation, depending on the modem/router/gateway device you’re using: Xbox Support (Dig into the information, you may be surprised what you can do to help.)
