Interesting story, I’m glad you are okay, you are right it could have been worse without Forza fast reflex. And the real driving lessons we learn from the game.
I have to thank Forza also. Been 4 years ago when I avoided a fetal crash in a Jeep Grand Cherokee Loredo. I was on my way to the mall down Freeway 15 south. Not much traffic on site during the last Christmas shopping. I stare at the mall on the left showing my passenger where it is at unknowing that all of the cars in front of me are also merging to the exit. With a quarter mile on the exit, traffic stalls from all the cars lined up. As I turn to make my exit I see my the long line of car and my speed at 70mph. Ohsh, instinctively I slam on the brakes hard enough to not set the ABS for maximum stopage. As the cars in front of me getting closer fast there was no way i was going to stop in time for at least 3 more car lengths. Then immediately decide there is no other choice but to swerve this SVU. Knowing that brakes+turning=understeer I let go of the brakes then turn left with cat like reflexes just as the taillight of the car in front of me disappeared on the hood of my car, missing the crash by millimeter accuracy. I don’t know how my Jeep got so much agility during than situation, but I think it was because the tires warmed up during braking helped. Then on my relieve a random truck on the other lane honks its horn like I purposely cut him off. All I could think was I JUST AVOIDED AN ACCIDENT!
1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee - Stock brakes, should of gone with the racing ceramic upgrade.
Good reactions…I did that before in my truck (long before Forza, though). You may want to check your tires for wear and proper inflation. If you weren’t hard on the gas, you probably shouldn’t have spun like that…
