Hello everyone.
Only 1 month left!
Hi everyone!
Only 4 days left!
Forza Motorsport 23 started as a game I couldn’t run smoothly without setting it to low auto, to now running at a locked 60 on high render, high RT, ultra car, ultra livery, high track detail, high particles, high motion blur, Ultra windshield reflections, while being able to run it with TAA all at 5870x1080 (stretched across 3 screens). To me, Turn 10 did a trememdous job getting to this point.
I regularly come across times where Forza just looks incredible. The sunrise/sunset with lots of sun glare is uncanny valley stuff, especially while the cars still have their headlights and tail lights on.
Then there are the details like when the sun lights up the back side of a tarp on the fences at some of the tracks. Or seeing the light strike the top of leaves, while glowing on the other side of others. Its simple, but a nice touchches like that that draw me in.
Frow day one to today. FM23 is a much better looking and playing game. IMO. Now Turn 10 can finally put more effort into improving aspects like the career, FRR, audio and even tweaking the physics and control. I can’t wait for year 2.
A year to get a game to run & render somewhat smoothly for some (but still not as good as the pre-launch trailers) is a “tremendous job?”
Is this sarcasm?
No. The game was incredibly bad. Unplayable, unstable, and incredibly demanding to run with RT on. Seeing how some studios twisted themselves into knots to improve stability, I can imagine where Turn 10 brought this game from, wasn’t easy.
I get that it isn’t measuring up to what they show in press footage. But for them to take the game from XB1/PS4 CP2077 levels of bad to where it is now is appreciated. Especially when so many companies are quick to cut losses, close studios and kill franchises.
I agree T10 did a good job bringing the visuals around. I wouldn’t say it’s CP2077 level but it is a noticeable improvement. They do have a long ways to go for this game. Hopefully they make it happen. Assuming they are serious about this franchise. Time will tell.
To me Peninsula is one of the most boring tracks. Another half oval with some in-field track… Why not the Bernese Alps or Monza or Brazil… …?
New features don’t excite me anymore either because you can never be sure that you’ll get them on console.
See the rearview mirror, which I can only get on PC. They don’t seem to care about console players, even though they probably make up the majority of players. What about the tuning? How long is this ridiculous restriction going to exist? New cars? Ferrari Daytona, 12 Cilindri, Lambo Revoluto, Pagani Utopia?
Instead I start the game once a week to see that I alread have all the offered weekly cars. Oh I forgot: I can race 40 ones against the rumbling AI to get rewarded with McLaren number 30 - and can`t tune. Happy Birthday!
I think that`s exactly what happend here. Forza is dead after this one and it really bothers me.
Considering it takes up to a year from sourcing to being available in-game you have to be realistic. 12 Cilindri & Utopia are way too new.
Revuelto probably time exclusive for the Crew Motorfest given it’s the cover car.
T10 should be able to close the gap to Horizon though. Their car roster is more up to date.
We are still missing several tracks from FM7. And those that are included are still missing all the previously available layouts. Nor can we access every variation of that tracks we do have in private MP or Free Play.
A year after launch and it feels like they’ve barely done anything to the game.
There is still so much basic track racing game functionality missing.
Honestly I don’t understand why this game still gets content and updates.
Yesterday the peak numbers in Steam Charts were barely above 500 players.
How many years they will invest in further development, even if its only drip feeding repolished old assets, when there is no return of investment?
And at this drip feed speed it will take a few years to make a complete racing game out of FM.
With each update playernumbers gets a small raise, but only to fall to new record lows after two weeks or so. There is no light at the end of this tunnel.
Considering what happened to other game studios under the hood of microsoft its surprising T10 still didn’t announced end of development, because there is no way to make money with this game.
Any plans for a new FM on UnrealEngine? Like Halo - like the upcoming Assetto Corsa EVO…
Me have some hope in Assetto Corsa EVO, Im sure it will have all basic racing game functionality at release… and a Nordschleife without weird night lighting at release… but anyway…
AC EVO is not using Unreal Engine. They have developed a new in house engine for it.
Hello to all drivers. Today is the 1st year of forza motorsport!
Also, the next update is coming next week!
Let’s see how well Turn10 celebrates this milestone and rewards our dedication…
I expect nothing.
Looks like next week will start Mustang Month. But they are adding drift mode and giving out 3 drift Stangs for all players. Car Pass holders will also get the 24 Dark Horse. I’m sure many will not be pleased about the theme. I’m personally looking forward to it but that might be due to some bias.
Mustangs and drifting. That’s something
How many people are still coming back for these monthly updates? Hopefully drift mode is an online feature and not hidden behind private multiplayer.
