well i did in all the previous forzamotorsport, but without having a hotlap leaderboard it became useless trying to set up a car now … i had top 200 times in old forzas so " i think im in race and make car go fast " … but maybe you just started with forza7 and you dont know how it was before…
I find your post a bit contradictory. You complain about the game being too easy, and then proceed to say how an AI slaughtered you by 4k+ after half a lap. Those two points are polar opposites.
Not to come off as rude, but I believe it’s your skill. Even on unbeatable, an AI shouldn’t be that far ahead, and if they are, you just simply aren’t good enough to race unbeatable AI. I race on pro (one below unbeatable), and can win by as much as 5k+, passing them all on the first lap, (I use long races), or by as little as 50 feet and not passing 1st until lap 9/10. It depends on the track/car. I race on unbeatable sometimes, but on some tracks I just can’t beat them, so I don’t always do it.
I’m going to take a shot in the dark here, and assume you use the assists for the point of this, even though I’m sure you have some off. Take it from me, and every single hardcore driver in this game, take them all off.
You will shave off an insane amount of time without assists. Just with ABS off, I was shaving off over 2-3 seconds a lap.
When this game first came out, I only took off TCS&STM (and all the racing line stuff, and assisted steering, etc), and used regular manual. But left ABS on. About 2 weeks ago I finally took off ABS, and once you learn it, it will help you immensely. Then last week, I finally made the switch to manual w/ clutch, and again, it made me a lot faster.
Without manual w/ clutch, I wasn’t able to beat Dan’s time for the Bounty Hunter last week. But as soon as I took it off, I beat him, and now I have the Lykan Hypersport. It makes a HUGE difference.
Not only does taking these assists off make you a lot faster, but it makes the game a lot more fun, as you have to be much more thoughtful. Also it just makes the game more challenging. By having the assists, it’s just the game kinda holding your hand, which is fine for new people, but it will get boring after a long time of it.
Yeah the multiplayer is it’s own nightmare, so I’ll pass. I didn’t spend $100 to get a game that won’t let me add AIs to a private lobby so my 3 friends and I don’t have to race alone, and I also didn’t pay to have some jerk wreck everyone at the beginning of a race and then back out
i have to agree wiith a lot of comment here.
I play forza since the 1st one, and play gran turismo serie from the 3rd one.
I gave up GT series on the 5th iteration, forza became the reference, forza 4 was the best of the best, lots of cars, very cool cars, lots of interesting circuit (touge, infield, camino viejo…). The DLC had new cars that weren’t copies of cars already in the game.
And then…forza 5. IMO, you can’t do a perfect racing simultation, because it is still a video game, not real life. Since forza 5, the behavior of the car is too unrealistic if you play with a controller. We can’t all afford a good wheel with a chair and some tvs. I think they should stay as good as they were. At that time, they made improvement on the tires, add some cool stuff like new rims, some body kits part…Now, they just put out things. The newer the game, the less they do, that is my point of view.
I mean, all is relative, i don’t say they don’t work, but in our era everything need to be fast, cheap. The need to make money, so the franchise have one game a year out. I think i could be the best if a forza game could be out once every 3 or 4 year, like GTA.
Games are more and more sofisticated so it take time to have a 3d render of a car, so they put in the game cars that already exist in the previous one, but not in this one and go on and go on.
The carreer mode is everytime the same routine. Do 2 or 3 laps with a car, no challenge.
So i bought GT sport and have a lot more fun with some challenge, some gymkhana, 15mn endurance or more… Yes it is kinda empty, but so fresh.
Except for forza horizon that i reaaallly love, the motorsport series is always the same. It need to be a whole new game with new cars, new carreer, new event, with a garage you can walk around your car like in PGR 3 - 4, or an imaginary map with all the circuit connected by roads, some dirt track…
I don’t do a mean post, i am a grown up, and i know i can not play this game if i am not satisfied, but all those post are by fans, passionate fan.
I post this hoping Turn 10 could react and do something to avoid the fall of the serie. Because, as a fan, i want to give it up.
Forza never bores me.
I have always things to do, a litle bit painting tuning rivals, photomode or just racing of and online.
If unbeatable is to fast for you than you can turn it a litle down, but if you have enough laps than is unbeatable to beat.
I love forza for ever.
I also play gran turismo sport, also a good game, but forza is my favorite.
Lots of people in the same boat. I too have become bored with the game. I actually find the AI to slow and extremely stupid except for on tracks with long straights where they get the cheating HP boost. I’ve tried limit aggression on and off and they still suck either way.
Taking out class hoppers and leaderboards is what really put the nail in the coffin for me. I use to enjoy taking a non leaderboard car, tinkering and tuning it to make it competitive on the leaderboards and then take it online. Well, unfortunately that’s not possible anymore.
I always knew FM7 would be a grind, nevertheless I’ve had a lot of fun finishing the career mode. In fact, it’s not really finished as there’s loads more to do that didn’t need to be completed to get the Driver’s Cup.
Anyway, I’m a casual racer, so probably miss the best bits such as tuning etc and am quite happy to end up on the podium. We all want different things from racing games and once I’ve reached Tier 6 I’ll probably cool it for a bit, because it has been a real grind to get there.
But compared to many other racing sims, FM7 is really rather forgiving. Take GRID2 for example; the AI is totally psycho in that game and any shortcuts taken on circuits will result in a five second slow down of the car as a penalty.
Also, I play with a keyboard only and after an hour two I can feel the strain on my fingers, but I get as much fun out of the game as I expect, which is the main thing.
Well tbh multiplayer is a nightmare and even that gets boring after awhile. If you’re slow you get smashed by idiots. If you’re fast you either get smashed by idiots or your race is literally a hotlapping session.
While it doesn’t happen every race I’ve had some great battles against some clean racers in multiplayer. In my opinion when that happens it’s the best experience you can have in Forza. I usually message them after to compliment their racing because that’s something that needs to be encouraged
Hope you’re not referring to my glitched playercard, bud. That’d be pretty embarrassing.
The main replay value in Forza is in multiplayer, and it is also where you’ll find the most challenge. You’re ignoring the elephant in the room because you’re slow, so who’s the stupid one here?
Multiplayer is fundamentally flawed and an overall negative experience unless you’re one of the low percentage of players who can break free from the pack on Lap 1.
But I’ll indulge you, just a bit. First there’s the lack of variety. If they’re going to do this thing where they add and remove hoppers they need to do it more often than they are, because there are a massive number of divisions and but a tiny fraction available for multiplayer. They switched to homologation hoppers from class hoppers, and instead of committing to it they’re letting it rot.
Then there’s the complete and total lack of competitive controls. I can say that it does feel like they’re doing some kind of match making, as I’ve had pretty good luck finding races with people who don’t want to play bumper cars, but the ghosting code is awful and there are no penalties for cutting or crashing. Oh, and speaking of cutting, all those barriers they’ve added are choke points that have completely ruined tracks because when combined with the bad ghosting code a single tiny mistake is guaranteed to stop the race for most of the players on the first lap. I’ve had more races ruined because someone I was following made an innocent and understandable mistake that put them sideways across the three inch path between the barriers that made me a victim. But the alternative, applying a half a second slow down penalty to compensate for cutting the course… nah, the barriers are fine.
Multiplayer is rather lame. There’s several divisions I wouldn’t mind trying online but I can’t because the hopper choice is limited. In addition hardly any good players are using it. With exception to a handful of online races, single player unbeatable and pro are faster.
