I saw no obvious indications that what I was buying also required a certain level of play in the main game before I could use it.
I am not aware (there may be others but I’ve never seen it) of any game expansion that costs money and then doesn’t allow you to play it if you haven’t completed some level of the main game. In game add-ons to things like Far Cry, GTA, etc. I can literally have never played the main game and play the expansion if I pay for it.
Bottom line is I find it bizarre that I paid money for something that I can’t play at all. Sure I will be able to soon, but its just wrong.
The weird thing I saw was my son’s avatar beat me at Blizzard Mountain but he doesn’t have access (only 2 festivals so far). He saw it and asked me why he is racing there but not allowed to go there… I can’t answer the question and explaining any big concept to a 5 year old doesn’t stick that well. I can tear through his account and level him up, but It’s a bit confusing that they allow someone who does not have access to Blizzard Mountain to appear in it.
Nope and there should be some sort of easy accessible progression list too for the whole game
It was stated in the original blizzard mountain thread by a turn 10 staff that you required to have opened the minimum 3 sites…guess its the same time that the car meet at the airport is opened up as well
But most things are in those stickied threads at the top of the forum..but it’s easier for people to create new threads than to read them
the vast majority of buyers of forza never read a single forum thread or turn 10 tweet… they just play the game. requiring someone to review an online FAQ or thread to understand that paying money for an expansion doesn’t guarantee you can even play it shouldn’t be necessary.
If it’s any consolation Blizzard Mountain is quite a lot harder than the base game. Coming second or third in every race won’t be enough - you have to win each event to progress. You’ll need to play the base game to get good at the FH3 physics too, and that Thrustmaster is going to take some practice - at least it did for me with my G920.
I wouldn’t worry about having to play the base game, it’s just as much fun. I expect it’s just the wintry Christmas theme you’ve been deprived of which you and your son will get over - eventually.
I purchased only the Blizzard Mountain DLC, not a pass.
I am not an XBox Live or XBox Gold member.
When I go to “Manage Game” from the XBox home screen it says Blizzard Mountain is installed.
I have read on the web that you access Blizzard Mountain from the airport near the Outback festival site. There is nothing on the map showing anything about Blizzard Mountain. When I go to the airport I don’t see anything.
In the game, when I click the menu button, Blizzard Mountain shows up on the bar along the top. I can LB over to it. When I click on “Bucket List”, a message pops up saying “Feature Locked: This feature is currently locked. Go to Blizzard Mountain to unlock it.” When I click on “Blizzard Rivals” a message says “Feature Locked: This feature is currently locked. Keep playing to unlock it.” Other boxes in this screen are grayed out with lock icons on them, but they appear to be features I would need an XBox Gold membership for.
I’ve just reached level 20 in the game. I have two festival sites established: Byron Bay is level 2 and the Outback site is level 3.
I don’t buy that you have to have three festival sites open in order to access Blizzard Mountain. In one of my profiles I only have two festival sites opened and I was able to go to Blizzard Mountain as soon as I opened the game. The other profile on my xbox is what I use when playing with my nephew. My nephew has progressed further than I have (still just two festival sites but at higher levels) and Blizzard Mountain is not available. So annoying!
That is the official word from T10 and was confirmed here on the forums by T10 staff, whether you buy it or not, that’s the truth. You may have three festival sites open and not realize it.
i buyed the blizzard mountain addon at 31.12.2016, in this addon 8 cars, i have nothing, microsoft support say me, here find help for my problem. i have all tipps from ms used, all settings, settings account, remove, reboot, logged in, settings blue ray ram clear, nothing, no cars.
I bought it today. At the airport it always gets me to the shopping option where i can select to buy the dlc-pack with 8 cars or only blizzard mountain. But i already bought it. Still it only gets me in a endless loop of that selection where it says i already bought it but nothing else.
Ever so slightly miffed, well very really, that having laid out my money albeit only £16 I can find NOTHING that says/states prior to purchase that to action or access this add on/upgrade you need to complete umpteen levels and tasks and have 3 festival sites open etc. I am an old school dude, you buy something you get to use it. (maybe i am too old for Forza?? at my incompetence and time on the Box the day I finally unlock it (BM) the snow will have melted and global warming will have turned it into “Flood Plain.” I get it now, I understand the philosophy of completing…BUT if I had known this before I would be £16 in pocket and still trying to stay on the road and beat all theses 9 year olds hurtling around in fantasy metal… Is there an easy hack that a man of my incompetence can use to just go and play???
