2020 BMW M8 Competition Coupe

The ultimate BMW car engineered for the driving enthusiast. Consider its 0-62mph acceleration speeds of just 3.2 seconds made possible by a high-revving 625 horsepower M TwinPower Turbo V8 engine. It’s monstrous in every conceivable way – an exceptional combination of dynamic flair, agility and precision. BMW achieved this by developing the car alongside its BMW M8 GTE endurance racer, fine tuning it at its Miramas and Arjeplog test centers while pushing its capabilities to the limit on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife and other racing circuits. Its top speed is 155mph, though this can be raised to 190mph thanks to BMW’s optional M Driver’s package adding tires rated for high speed to the car. With a peak torque of 553 lb-ft at 5,800 rpm, sophisticated cooling systems and innovative aerodynamics, the BMW M8 Competition Coupe is a car made for those who dare to go the extra mile.

2020 Audi RS 3 Sedan

Who knew incredible performance could be achieved in such a well refined package? With a 400-horsepower inline five-cylinder engine under the hood producing 368.8 lb-ft of torque, the latest Audi RS 3 Sedan is fast and sublime. Not only does it feature a distinctive iconic sound, but the car is capable of 0-62mph speeds in just 3.8 seconds with a top speed of 155mph. It is also the first ever Audi to include the RS torque splitter for greater dynamics and stability, variably distributing the car’s torque between the rear of the wheels. The German automaker has also given its RS 3 Sedan is a new sportier look with a widened body and a motorsport inspired exhaust system and cockpit display.

2021 Porsche 911 GT3

Built to bleed pure racing technology into a production car more consistently than ever before, the new 911 GT3 is the seventh edition of Porsche’s high-performance sports car, developed in close collaboration with the German automaker’s in-house Motorsport division. Porsche took the double wishbone front axle layout and innovative aerodynamics from its successful GT race car, the 911 RSR and applied to its 2021 911 GT3 with a 503hp four-liter six-cylinder boxer engine and a drivetrain tried and tested in endurance racing. Faster than the previous 911 GT3 RS, this model can achieve near 200mph top speed and reaches 0-62 in just 3.4 seconds. It also lapped the Nürburgring-Nordschleife, considered the most challenging racecourse in the world and the manufacturer home of driving performance tests, in just 6:59.927 minutes – more than 17 seconds quicker than its predecessor. The Swan neck design rear wing creates enough downforce to keep you on the edge of your seat in every curve.

2018 Audi RS 5 Coupé

If you’re looking for a smooth, enjoyable and refined driving experience then look no further. Audi strikes gold with its 2018 RS 5 Coupé. Featuring a twin-turbocharged V6 producing 450 horsepower, 442.5 lb-ft of torque and a top speed of 174mph, you’ll certainly be going places. With high-precision RS sport suspension, the overall support and stability of the car is reinforced to reduce pitch and roll, while improving the overall handling of the vehicle. What’s more, the quattro drivetrain provides additional traction, dynamism and stability, as well as sport differential at the rear axle to actively distribute toque between the wheels. With sharp, precise looks and 0-62mph acceleration speeds in just 3.9 seconds, there’s never a reason to show up late while behind the wheel of this RS 5 Coupé.

2015 Mercedes-AMG GT S

When you first think of Mercedes-Benz, you may be drawn to the lavish luxury the brand is renowned for. But with the company’s recent dominance in Formula One, it’s clear Mercedes can do performance too. But what about both? Mercedes’ AMG GT S balances the two disciplines, with equal doses of F1-like speed and luxury. Under the AMG GT S’s sleek hood sits a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 producing more than 500 horsepower. That’s enough boosted motor to pull competitive laps at any racetrack and hit 193mph flat out, complimented by a leather-lined interior befit for autobahn blasts. Bordering on supercar, but still competing with other top models from Germany, the AMG GT S is exactly what you’d expect from Mercedes: the pinnacle of performance and luxury. Be ready to get the most out of this sophisticated German engineered machine.

1982 Volkswagen Pickup LX

Cast your mind back to the 1980s – an era of glitz and glamour and a staple for the automotive world. Cars from this timeline remain iconic to this day and there’s no greater throwback to a bygone decade than this Volkswagen Pickup LX, also named the Rabbit Pickup, the Caddy and the Golf Mk1 Caddy. That’s a lot of alternative titles, but it’s fitting for a vehicle with so many distinct options to choose from. While the “LX” variants sport unique trim levels, the VW Pickup offered a wide choice of various petrol and diesel engines depending on whether you were buying it in North America or Europe, and because the numbers naturally differ based on your spec, there are no consistent performance metrics. Luckily for you, Forza Horizon 5 has all the options you need to customize this compact pick-up truck to your liking, so you can make it as fast or economical as you please. The 1.7-liter engine was built for high fuel economy. It had a gear labeled E, for Economy.

2018 Audi RS 4 Avant

Did you know the RS initials stand for “racing sport?” It’s used here to acknowledge that this is Audi’s most premium outing based on their A4 platform. That means the highest trim level, the fastest speeds and the most-sports-focused car they offer. Unveiled at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show, the B9 RS 4 Avant is powered by a 2.9 TFSI V6 twin-turbo engine producing 450hp and 443 lb-ft of torque. While this is the same power output as the previous B8 model, the extra torque delivered from its smaller displacement engine results in better fuel efficiency and faster acceleration. So, while the previous model achieved 0-60mph in 4.7 seconds, this one does it in just 4.1 seconds. What’s more, the B9 replaces the 7-speed dual-clutch S-Tronic transmission with an 8-speed ‘Tiptronic’ automatic transmission. As always, you’ll find the quattro all-wheel-drive system, because after all, the RS 4 series is renowned for pioneering some of Audi’s most innovative technology. People say Audi took the decision to make the RS 4 a beast, coming from the Audi 90 quattro IMSA GTO. Are you ready to hear the symphony of that glorious atmospheric V6?

The 2021 Aston Martin DBX is a DLC addition for owners of the Car Pass, and the 2018 Hot Wheels 2JetZ is a reward for accumulating 20 points from the Summer Festival Playlist. The 2JetZ was first introduced to Forza in FH4, while the DBX is #NewToForza.

2021 Aston Martin DBX

Step inside and get behind the wheel of the fastest, most powerful, and best handling luxury SUV yet. The first car to be produced on Aston Martin’s new line in St Athan, Wales is arguably one of its most unique yet and worthy of being called a James Bond SUV. It features the design and materials expected of any car from the British manufacturer, while incorporating Mercedes-AMG’s M177 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine capable of 542 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque. That means it can achieve 0-62mph in 4.5 seconds with a top speed of 181mph. Impressive numbers for a luxury SUV. In 2021, the DBX also became an official Formula One Medical Car, joining the Aston Martin Vantage in F1’s fleet of safety cars. Overall, the DBX is a confident SUV that makes a bold statement thanks to its near supercar-like performance and the looks of a high-end, premium sedan with luxurious finishes.

2018 Hot Wheels 2JetZ

Handcrafted by Luis Rodriguez, the 2JetZ would go on to be the first-ever winner of the Hot WheelsLegends Tour. The futuristic, yet retro styling of the car is a shining example of the creativity, originality and automotive spirit that makes Hot Wheels such a household name. In building the 2JetZ, Rodriguez was inspired by the record-breaking automobiles that raced the Bonneville Salt Flats, jet-powered aircraft, and a sketch from Hot Wheels designer Dwayne Vance. It’s fitted with a fully race-built 2JZ-GTE – the same motor as found in the Toyota Supra, with a custom Subaru STI six-speed converted into a transaxle and F1-style twin radiator cooling. It outputs an incredible 627 horsepower and weights 1,600 lbs. With a custom chrome moly tubular frame chassis and a molded aluminum skin, as well as custom aero tubing front suspension angled at 30-degrees, the 2JetZ easily establishes itself as a work of art, but the best part of the story is this: to achieve the exhaust’s “afterburner” look, Rodriguez welded a vegetable steamer from his kitchen to the muffler. Sometimes one must make do with the tools at their disposal, and in this circumstance, the right decision was clearly made.

2020 Lexus RC F Track Edition

Imagine enhancing some of the world’s greatest sports cars with performance upgrades carefully chosen to match the desires of hardcore driving enthusiasts. That’s exactly what Lexus did with its limited run 2020 RC F Track Edition, fitting the kind of components that would typically be reserved for only the most exotic of automobiles while removing weight in the areas it counts most. The result is a car that’s further distinguished from its rivals, delivering fast, durable performance in a 472hp V8. Whoever sits behind the wheel gets to experience a series of upgrades that work together in harmony, with boosted acceleration speeds of 0-60mph in just 3.96 seconds and a top speed of 168mph. Lexus collaborated with its own race teams competing in the Super GT and IMSA series to create a car that could impress both on and off the track, and it’s fair to say the Japanese manufacturer delivered on its own promise.

1968 Plymouth Barracuda Formula-S

Mustang fans might not like to hear it, but the fastback with the name of a predatory fish was actually the first pony car to hit the market. While Ford had the last laugh, selling Mustangs as fast as they could make them, the Barracuda was unfairly overshadowed. But the second-generation Barracuda was a better pony car; its sleeker sheetmetal didn’t share any panels with lesser Valiants, and there were even more go-fast choices to be had in the enlarged engine compartment. In Formula S trim, the Barracuda barely swallowed a 383 Super Commando V8, one of Chrysler’s legendary “B” big-block motors, good for 338 tire-melting horsepower (although with enough credits the ‘Cuda will accept a 426 Hemi in the Upgrade Shop, so you can emulate the Super Stock 426 Barracuda drag racers). While details such as the menacing barracuda emblem on the rear panel and a characteristic split front grille make it one of the more interesting-looking pony cars ever made, it’s the fastback profile and Mopar muscle that distinguishes the Barracuda from the competition.

Series 9 | Week 3 - July 7th, 2022

Here are the newly available cars this week.

The 2019 Nissan 370Z NISMO is a DLC addition for owners of the Car Pass - the final Car Pass weekly release - and the 1970 Dodge Coronet Super Bee is a seasonal exclusive reward for accumulating 20 points from the Winter Festival Playlist. The Coronet was first introduced to Forza in Forza Motorsport 4 and FH5 is its first Horizon appearance. The 370Z NISMO is #NewToForza, joining FH5’s 2010 370Z and modified 370Zs from Forsberg and Formula Drift.

The Coronet has six engine swap options with maximum power coming from the Funco’s 1750hp 7.4L V8TT. The Coronet also offers hood options in Aero upgrades as seen on other muscle cars.

2019 Nissan 370Z NISMO

Beneath the signature-red engine cover of this 370z beats a specially tuned Nismo 3.7-liter V6 engine, capable of 350 horsepower at 7,400 rpm and a seriously impressive 276 lb-ft of torque. It also sounds great too, thanks to its free-flow dual exhaust combined with a H-pipe configuration to reduce back pressure and create responsive upper-end power for a truly unmatched redline rush. With the largest brakes ever seen in a 370Z – 14-inch four-piston front brakes and 13.8-inch two-piston rear brakes, as well as stiff, fine-tuned competition springs and special body dampers that provide reinforcement to the chassis, the 370z is race-ready. Whether you’re bringing it to the track or cruising along some of the world’s greatest driving roads, the Nismo-tuned 370z ensures you’re in for a good time. All within the bodywork of a truly iconic design, now infused with a racetrack born heritage that proves itself further than ever before.

1970 Dodge Coronet Super Bee

With the Plymouth Road Runner selling well, Dodge requested the creation of a competitor from the Dodge styling office. One of the challenges was to create a separate identity for the car. At the time both Dodge and Plymouth were competing to become the Chrysler performance division, later to become SRT. Designers were tasked with defining the new low-priced muscle car. They held a contest and Harvey J. Winn was deemed the winner for his play on the “B” body designation and accompanying artwork. The Super Bee was born. Upon production, the Super Bee had its own nuanced appearance with larger rear wheel openings, a more dressed-up grill, and unique tail light configuration. Of course, it could be ordered with a Hemi, and of course it built a legendary history for every person that owned one. You see, the Super Bee belonged to the Scat Pack Group, a moniker that signified the best of Dodge’s power and performance. Owners could sign up to join this community at any Dodge dealership, but their car had to be capable of completing a standing-start quarter mile drag run in 14 seconds! If this challenge sounds like a breeze to you, then the Scat Pack Club would’ve been your ideal home.

1957 Hot Wheels Nash Metropolitan Custom

The classic American automobile. Sold from 1953 to 1961, the Austin-manufactured Nash Metropolitan was considered the everyday car of choice for so many, yet more recently it’s become a staple of the Hot Wheels world. Created by Greg Salzillo and Dave Ford, the Nash Metropolitan Custom rose above thousands of competitors and won the 2019 Hot Wheels Legend Tour. With an adorable two-tone paint and a chopped roof that matches its cutesy looks, this rat rod is capable of 350 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque delivered to the rear wheels thanks to a 5-liter naturally-aspirated V8 engine swap and a 3-speed transmission. Salzillo and Ford built the Nash Metropolitan Custom using a unique chassis that is fitted on a coil-over suspension while the wheel fitment gives the illusion of camber angle. The overall result is a car that looks innocent on the outside but can be a handful to control once behind-the-wheel, the ideal recipe for thrill seekers and the perfect candidate for a Hot Wheels badge of honor.

1949 Hot Wheels Ford F-5 Dually Custom Hot Rod

Entered as a finalist in the 2018 Hot Wheels Legends Tour, the F-5 Dually Custom built by Mitch Allread transforms a commercial-grade, everyday truck into a truly unique rat rod! After five years of extensive work, which included pulling a chip-tuned 7.3-liter “Power Stroke” diesel engine from a 1999 Ford F-350 Super Duty and pairing it with the body of a 1949 Ford F-5, a truly one-of-a-kind custom monster was born. Weighing 4660 lbs., this is one of the coolest and fastest rat rods in the world! Capable of 450 horsepower, the turbocharged V8 and its five-speed transmission combine to produce a sheer 800 ft-lb of torque. On the outside, this rat rod retains the F-5’s dual-rear-wheel configuration but removes the fenders to lower the truck’s stance, all while the cabin has been reduced to only the essentials with tube-and-leather seats, the dashboard basics and a large steering wheel – a constant reminder to the driver that there’s nothing else quite like this F-5 Dually Custom.

2012 Hot Wheels Rip Rod

Is it a buggy? It is a hot rod? It doesn’t matter what you call the Rip Rod because this diminutive Hot Wheels ride is ready to shake things up on any surface. This beast is equipped with a souped-up two-cylinder motor that makes better than 100 hp. While that might not seem like much, in this rod, it is more than enough to thrill (or spill depending on your skills behind the wheel). One look at the suspension tells you this tricked out custom is ready for any terrain. This is a super lightweight tube chassis pro-built machine and it’s all Hot Wheels. In short, the Rip Rod really rips.

|2005 Hot Wheels Ford Mustang

To celebrate 50 years of the iconic Ford pony car, Hot Wheels and specialty-builder Action Vehicle Engineering started with a 2005 Mustang and created this beautiful custom model. Featuring huge fender flares, the car’s oil-cooler lines are routed through the empty grill, and its dramatic (and adjustable) spoiler and rear diffuser all contribute to the look. The wheels are one-of-a-kind, built specially for this car. The purple and orange paint colors and carbon-fiber accents make this Mustang pop that much more. Ready for drifting duty or fit for tracking, this one-off build is as collectible as the 1:64 version it inspired.

EXTREME E

The ODYSSEY 21 e-SUV is a bespoke, purpose-built vehicle for Extreme E that’s used by all the participating teams. Each vehicle, which weights 1,780 kilograms, contains a common package of standardized parts manufactured by Spark Racing Technology, a battery produced by Williams Advanced Engineering, a set of ultra-high-performance Continental CrossContact tires, and a niobium chassis by CBMM.

The powertrain of this 2.3-metre-wide e-SUV is designed for sprint races and the 470kW maximum power output of the battery – which equates to around 550bhp – is built to withstand the extreme temperatures, conditions and terrains of Extreme E. For each X Prix race on the calendar, the cars are transported across the world on the St. Helena vessel, which is Extreme E’s floating base of operations that reduces the environmental impact of this global race series.

In 1968, the first ever Hot Wheels debuted in the form of a Custom Camaro die-cast and in 2018, those muscle fumes were reignited to celebrate Hot Wheels’ 50th anniversary. This limited-edition Camaro pairs the iconic Hot Wheels lineage with the precision and power of the sixth-generation Camaro to create a full-scale, factory-built drag racer that can speed past anything on its path. It uses an LSX-based, fire-breathing Chevrolet V8 engine producing 580 horsepower at 8000 rpm and a Whipple Industries 109-mm supercharger. It also looks the part too, with a sizzling “Orange Crush” exterior paint to match the iconic glow of Hot Wheels tracks paired with a two-color stripe package and one-of-a-kind vinyl chromatic Hot Wheels logos. Those tires are also incredibly special too, as the COPO Camaro rocks Weld racing wheels and Hoosier drag slicks to deliver the perfect take-off. With twin wheelie bars and a rear drag chute, this is a muscle car that rockets through Speed Traps while retaining full stability! Only 69 of these Hot Wheels COPOs were ever produced so if you wanted to buy one, you had to register your interest. In Forza Horizon 5: Hot Wheels, there’s no need to concern yourself with production numbers as the COPO Camaro is yours to drive on a nexus of glowing distinctive tracks like no other.

2012 Hot Wheels Bad to the Blade

Hot Wheels Bad to the Blade car zipping down a Hot Wheels track.

Extreme is likely the first word that comes to mind. After all, the Bad to the Blade – a car that looks like it was created in the future – serves up blistering speed and is inspired by a fighter jet and dragon combo. Designed by Hot Wheels’ Fraser Campbell, this Indy car concept was showcased in the Hot Wheels “Fearless at the 500” event to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Indy 500. It’s since been rewrapped in new graphics to honor the Hot Wheels 50th anniversary while Firestone tires and Hot Wheels rims complete the look. It features a 1000-cc four-cylinder turbocharged motorcycle engine while the wing and ground effect aerodynamics create 2646 lbs. of downforce – all to deliver a top speed of over 230mph on an inverted track. If you watched the Hot Wheels for Real online series, then you’ll recall how the Bad to the Blade defied gravity by driving upside down! Sounds like the perfect contender for Forza Horizon 5: Hot Wheels.

2013 Hot Wheels Baja Bone Shaker

Hot Wheels Baja Bone Shaker posed in the sunlight.

This is the Bone Shaker reimagined to drive off the beaten path! Inspired by early 1970s trophy trucks, this highly modified off-roader is given a rugged look, bigger wheels and the perfect amount of suspension to leave behind every challenger in the dust and do so with a smile on its skull. Creator Abe Lugo fitted it with modern 4x4 overlander bull bars as well as tube bumpers with fog lights and designed the roof to operate as a spoiler – a throwback to the Big Oly Bronco. The chrome rear fenders assist with the dirt, gravel and mud that the Baja Bone Shaker is certain to scoop up, while the headlight claws found on the classic Bone Shaker have been adapted into front fender chrome fists and function as headlight stands. Lastly, there’s the unmissable skeleton-head headlight casings, which are certain to cause a fright or two, especially as Baja Bone Shaker emerges from the depths of an unsuspecting cloud of dust! Now it’s found a new home in the warm biomes and Baja tracks of Forza Horizon 5: Hot Wheels with its natural habitat being the Giant’s Canyon!

2000 Hot Wheels Deora II

Hot Wheels Deora II speeding around a Hot Wheels track.

With its slinky curves, an integrated spoiler and unique oval windows, the unconventional Deora II makes for a stylish and sleek upgrade over its original 1960s counterpart, which was based on a 1960s Ford station wagon. As one of the original sixteen Hot Wheels cars that debuted in 1968, the Deora remains a favorite of Hot Wheels enthusiasts across the world and in honor of Hot Wheels’ 35th anniversary in 2003, a full-scale concept car was created in homage to the groundbreaking spirit of bold originality embodied in the Deora. Hot Wheels teamed up with automotive designer Chip Foose and Five Axis to bring the car to life, which is when it was also inducted into the Hot Wheels Hall of Fame at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles, CA. With over 400 horsepower and a top speed of 150mph, the Deora II features a custom hand-built cab forward body designed by its creator Nathan Proch, and takes cues from the 1996 Ford Taurus station wagon. Its electric linear actuator opens the front door for access in or out of its futuristic interior, while the two surfboards harken back to the original car, which for a 2021 retooling were molded into the bodywork. It also has custom 24-inch wheels with Firestone tires, and you see that tonneau cover? It lifts to reveal a supercharged Cadillac Northstar engine, the savvy innerworkings that keep this Deora II rolling along without interruption.

2021 Hennessey Venom F5

FH5-HotWheels_Expansion-Hennessey_Venom_F5-16x9_WM

With its goal of being the absolute fastest road car on earth, the Hennessey Venom F5 immediately sets the highest of expectations. As a tribute to 30 years of Hennessey, it’s only fair that it combines the best of speed and power in the ultimate driving package. Capable of 1,817 horsepower – and yes, you’ve read that correctly – at 8,000 rpm and 1,193 lb-ft of torque, the F5 is a monster. With predicted acceleration speeds of 0-168mph in under 10 seconds and 0-249mph in around 20 seconds with a top speed goal beyond 311mph, the F5, if it can reach those speeds, will in fact be the world’s fastest production car—an extraordinary feat, especially as it weighs 2,998 lbs. The F5 uses a Hennessey V8 twin-turbo engine, which it’s calling ‘Fury’ to push these unprecedented speeds. Aerodynamics, which as a first for Hennessey are paired with the car’s body, are being developed by expert racing driver John ‘Heinrocket’ Heinricy to ensure a world-class, revolutionary driving experience both on the road and track. Production is limited to 24 units and by August 2021, they were all sold out, so your best opportunity to get behind the wheel of the world’s fastest production car ever will be in Forza Horizon 5: Hot Wheels.

2019 Brabham BT62

Brabham BT62 zooming down a Hot Wheels track.

To honor Brabham’s 70-year heritage in racing, the BT62 has been carefully designed for the driver who strives to challenge themselves as company founder Sir Jack Brabham did when he began his racing career in Australia in 1948. If you’re looking for a car that boosts your driving experience to the next level, then look no further and act fast, because only 70 of these BT62s will be produced with the first 35 adorned in liveries celebrating Brabham’s 35 Grand Prix winning cars. This mid-engine track car is powered by a Brabham 5.4-liter V8 engine capable of 700bhp and 492 ft-lb of torque. It’s perfectly optimized for performance, with aggressive aerodynamics delivering 2,645 lbs. of downforce. With the BT62, Brabham strived to enhance the behind the wheel experience, not control it. Therefore, it all comes down to the driver instead of the electronics. Its speed and power are maintained by you without any interference from the car’s software. If you’re confident, you can push it to its true limits – just as Australian Supercars race driver Luke Youlden did when he broke the closed-wheel lap record at Mount Panorama Circuit with a time of 1:58.68, eclipsing the fastest GT car by 0.621 seconds. After all, it’s dubbed “the world’s most track focused hypercar” and with the unprecedented speeds that are now possible in Forza Horizon 5 thanks to the new accelerative Speed Boosts found across Hot Wheels Park, there’s no greater home to unleash the driving potential of Brabham’s BT62.

2006 Mosler MT900 GT3

Mossler MT900 GT3 speeding around a Hot Wheels track.

If the Mosler MT900S is a Forza Horizon PR Stunt master, then you can only imagine the capabilities of the MT900 GT3 – especially once it touches the high-speed, interconnected tracks of Hot Wheels Park. This model takes everything that made the MT900 so great – a supercar that could compete against its top tier siblings and emerge on top – and adapt it for the track. In fact, this specific variant builds upon the race-ready MT900R to adhere to FIA GT3 regulations. Under the hood, it uses an LS7 V8 engine to output 520 horsepower at 5,900 rpm and can even produce 505 lb-ft of torque! So, the only question that remains is whether the MT900 will live up to the Mosler precedent by being the best of the best for Forza Horizon 5: Hot Wheels’ PR Stunts once it undergoes some lavish tuning and upgrades.

2020 SIERRA Cars #23 Yokohama ALPHA

Pikes Peak is considered one of the most challenging and dangerous rally courses in the world, yet it doesn’t compare to Mount Washington – the peak of demanding driving. For any driver, it’s a daunting hillclimb, but when Sierra Cars undertook the 2021 Climb to the Clouds, it did so with the goal of its new powerful, precision-focused and lightweight Alpha being the fastest two-wheel-drive car ever. Thanks to Sierra’s engineering expertise and the passion, skill and determination of their crew—O.P. Andersen, Cole Powelson and Mark Hermansen—the record was reset, and the Alpha brought home the title entering the sub-ten-minute club with 9:37.449. Being the most powerful Sierra vehicle ever, the Alpha features a turbocharged Suzuki Hayabusa boasting 450 horsepower with a top speed of 140mph. The Alpha produces a single ton of downforce – twice its own weight – using big carbon fiber wings and weighs just 1,100lbs. It achieves 0-60mph in 2.2 seconds and is geared for asphalt driving, capable of extreme levels of grip, power and speed to take on the toughest race in the world.

2018 SUBARU WRX STI ARX Supercar

Blue Subaru WRX STI ARX Supercar drifting on a snowy Hot Wheels track.

Imagine 0-60mph in only two seconds. It sounds like a dream, but for this Subaru supercar, it’s a reality. Rallycross is a sport of gravel, jumps and sometimes bumper cars; it’s never going to be a smooth ride, and a car catering to competition must be built with these caveats in mind. With 600bhp and 680 lb-ft of torque, this Subaru WRX STI ARX Supercar is built with the underpinnings of rallycross across its entire design philosophy. Its four-cylinder, 2-liter Boxer engine is fitted with an ARX mandated 45mm Restrictor Garrett Motorsport Turbocharger managed by a Cosworth Pectel ECU, while the Reiger competition suspension and custom hydraulics ensure it can maintain peak performance through the gravel, high jumps and even the pavement. The masterclass of rallycross? You best believe it.

1971 Porsche #23 917/20

The coming of the Porsche 917 was driven by rules modifications to slow speeds of the Group 6 Prototypes. The result was a car that still holds the fastest lap at the Circuit de Sarthe in the configuration they ran in 1971. The lessons that influenced the 917 were multifold, including weight savings, aerodynamics, downforce, and one of the only true Boxer 12s in existence. What you see here is the unglamorously named “Pink Pig” which was a test bed for low-drag and aerodynamic concepts. It qualified seventh for its only race at Le Mans in 1971 but crashed during the race when its brakes failed. It currently lives in its butcher’s cut livery at Porsche’s Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen Museum, but you can experience its power and glory today in Forza.

1995 Porsche 911 Carrera 2 by Gunther Werks

Before building this custom car, Guntherwerks was known primarily as a manufacturer of after-market wheels and other parts for luxury vehicles. This rebuilt Porsche 911 Carerra 2, also known as the 400R, represents their first custom car build. 25 of these performance vehicles were built, making them incredibly rare. Guntherwerks imagined what a GT3 RS version of the 993 could look like when they designed the 400R. The goal in the Rothsport-built engine and lightweight body were performance above all, which is unusual in the world of custom luxury cars, which normally emphasize comfort over speed.

1990 Porsche 911 Reimagined by Singer - DLS

What does it look like to take a vintage design 911 and reimagine it as the ultimate air-cooled Porsche? It looks like the DLS from Singer – the Dynamics and Lightweighting Study – one of the most sought-after 911s in existence. Singer, the automotive restoration group headed up by Rob Dickinson and based in Los Angeles, has developed a signature style that’s all about the smallest of details, as summed up by their slogan “Everything is important.” Those details make all the difference – a carbon fiber body, plus advanced 4-liter air-cooled engine that spins past 9000 rpm, codeveloped with Formula 1 tech courtesy of Williams Engineering. Williams is also responsible for developing the suspension and the reworked aerodynamics. The whole thing also received technical input from the mind behind the GT3 engine, Hans Mezger. The result of all the resources and detail work that went into creating the DLS is a production run of 75 cars, worth 1.8 million dollars each.

Rami’s Racing History (Series 11) | Week 1 - August 18th, 2022

Here are the newly available cars this week.

The 1955 Porsche 550A Spyder is a seasonal exclusive car available as a reward for 20 points from the Summer Festival Playlist. The 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR is available immediately from the Autoshow for 143 million credits, but for those who don’t want to spend, it can be collected as a free reward with 160 points from the Series Festival Playlist (mathematically available starting with Autumn season).

The Porsche 550A has three engine swap options, with maximum power from the 330hp 2.0L F4 - TURBO RALLY engine.

1955 Porsche 550 Spyder

FH5-Porsche_550A_Spyder-01-16x9_WM

Known as the “Giant Killer,” the 550 was Porsche’s first foray into building cars specifically designed for racing. Actor James Dean bought and intended to race his 550 at Salinas in the fall of 1955 but died in a car accident shortly after completing filming of the movie “Giant”. The 550 with a Type 547 1.5-liter, flat-four, air-cooled engine produced a little more than 100 horsepower. One of the biggest steps forward was the space-frame tubular chassis which made it immensely lighter than its racing competition, as well as rigid and stable. This car set in motion Porsche’s racing prominence and helped build a reputation that sparked global sales. The 550 is nimble, agile, well-balanced, and quick, even bone stock. It generates a feeling of confidence and glory when being pushed through corners. Even when pitted against heavier, larger displacement cars, you will find that bigger is not always better.

1955 Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR

A treasured masterpiece, the original Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR is housed in a glass case at Mercedes’ Stuttgart Museum. Never again will it see the pavement or the risks of racing. In fact, with only two prototypes ever built, it is currently considered the most valuable car in the world as just earlier this year, the 300 SLR was sold at auction to a private car collector for $143 million. Driven by a young Stirling Moss and co-driven by journalist Denis Jenkinson, it won the 1955 Mile Miglia rally in record-breaking time and achieved incredible speed – a full 32 minutes faster than Juan Manual Fangio, who placed second in the other 300 SLR. Moss’s record time to finish the famed Mille Miglia in the 300 SLR has, to this day, not been beaten. The 300 SLR’s straight 8-cylinder engine, with state-of-the-art fuel injection and desmodromic valve actuation, gave high-revving reliable power. Depending on the tune applied and fuel type used, the car produced between 276 and 310 hp. Sadly 1955 also saw the end of Mercedes’ works-supported racing after the tragic accident at Le Mans. Mercedes did win the 1955 sports car championship, despite retiring at Le Mans out of respect for those who died. Later Sir Stirling Moss was invited on several occasions to relive the 300 SLR’s glory in vintage races before it was permanently retired.

1985 HDT VK Commodore Group A

In Australia, the name Peter Geoffrey Brock evokes Australian Touring Car Championships, national pride, and the twisting, undulating roads of Bathurst. The Commodore Group A is a distinctive car in Brock’s racing career, built during the period when he was running his own company building race-bred road cars. In the mid-1980s, home grown rules evolved to a European formula that included homologation. We have these rules to thank for the 502 models of the VK Commodore Group A that were built. Dubbed “Bluey” or the “Blue Meanie” for the Formula Blue color painted on the models: in sight, sound, and speed, the Group A holds a special place in the heart of Holden fans.

1990 Subaru Legacy RS

Subaru brought new game to 1990 dealer showrooms, putting aside its smaller, quirkier wagons and sedans for the new Legacy line. These cars were much more substantial in size, quality, and amenities. The Legacy RS Turbo was the most powerful model and still has a strong following among Subie enthusiasts. Its rally racing record is considerable and proved its endurance and ability to perform, and this was prior to Subaru’s dominance of the WRC. The highly desirable EJ20G engine later used in the WRX made more than 200 horsepower and provided a new level of performance. Subaru all-wheel drive keeps the Legacy RS steady and capable under any conditions on any surface.

The BMW has five engine swap options, with maximum power from the 850hp RACING 7.2L V8 engine. The BMW also has adjustable front and rear aero without needing any upgraded parts. As an electric vehicle, the Xpeng doesn’t have any swap options but can upgrade to a maximum output of 636hp and 724 ft-lb of torque.

2010 BMW M3 GTS

The ultimate factory M3 comes with more in all the right departments and less wherever it made sense for a street-legal track car. Instead of the standard M3 4.0-liter V8, the E92 M3 GTS has “more” in the form of its high-revving 4.4-liter V8, which gives it 40 more horsepower. There are also more gears in the seven-speed, dual-clutch M DCT transmission. To accommodate the significant weight of the high-tech automated-manual, weight was shaved by removing air-conditioning and the back seat, while lightening everything from the rear windows to the sound insulation. Designed for the track, the M3 GTS comes with adjustable suspension, a roll bar, a front splitter and adjustable rear wing. Since the audio system was also removed, appreciating the screaming V8 is now all the easier.

2020 Xpeng P7

The future of the sedan is here. The 2020 Xpeng P7 is a pure electric car capable of 0-60 speeds in just 4.5 seconds. With incredible gulf-style wing doors and a profile of a classic coupe, this is a car stylized for every journey ahead with smooth, refined performance. It also integrates many unique technologies to make the car more intelligent and handle complex calculations in real time. Its built-in 110mm thin battery offers long range driving and charges fast. It’s so quick and optimized that after 10 minutes of being plugged in, you’ll get almost 75 miles of driving it out on the open road; all while the car’s aerodynamic performance ensures you can reach the highest speeds thanks to an ultra-low drag coefficient. Where will the Xpeng P7 take you in Mexico? The ultimate electric off-roading adventure awaits in Forza Horizon 5.
