Hey. I’ve been playing Horizon 4 for a couple of months now and it has been working pretty well despite some minor crashes and a few stutters here and there.
Today when I opened up my PC and opened start menu, I was greeted with Horizon 4 icon greyed out with a white exclamation mark in the corner. Trying to open the game gives a message saying “Forza Horizon 4 can’t be open because it is in offline mode. The storage device might be missing or disconnected.”
The message box has a little grey link saying “See in Store” which opens up microsoft store and Horizon 4 page on it, where it says “This app encountered a problem. Please reinstall to repair.”
I’ve never gotten a problem like this in Horizon 3 or Horizon 4. Saying “Please reinstall to repair” with such confidence should mean that this is an error that cannot be fixed in any other way, shouldn’t it? I think problems like this shouldn’t happen in the first place. For me reinstalling a 80GB game is a last resort.
My HDD is properly working and I can access it, as is my network. Trying to access the “WindowsApps” folder tells me that I don’t currently have access to it and trying to gain access tells me that I was denied access.
Has anybody else encountered this problem before and how can it be fixed? Googling this didn’t really help, only helpful link was a russian playgrounds site with a dead forum discussion about this same problem which nobody had answered.
