FH3 FAQ: Photos and Screenshots
How do I use the Photo Mode settings for better photos?
See the Forzatography forum for tips from other community members and be sure to keep an eye on the official contest winners in the Gallery (website and Forza Hub) and Week in Review to see examples of good composition and effects.
Can I position the car or delete the driver in Photo Mode?
These aren’t options in Photo Mode - time and car position is frozen. You may be able to capture a screenshot in Drone Mode, which allows time, weather, and traffic to continue.
Storefront
“Storefront is the place where players can show off their latest creations – including liveries, tuning setups, photos, and custom vinyl creations. You can easily follow someone whose Storefront creations you like, and you’ll be informed each time they create something new. Best of all, Auction House and Storefront features will work seamlessly across both Xbox One and Windows 10.”^
Is there a limit to the number of photos I can save and share?
How can I download my in-game photos?
- Method 1: Using a computer browser, find your saved photos in the GALLERY dropdown under the COMMUNITY menu on the website and save them to your computer; this is also available in the Forza Hub app on PC.
- Method 2: Take an Xbox One Screenshot (below) while in Photo Mode with UI hidden or while viewing a photo in the in-game Forza Gallery menu (not available while streaming).
- Method 3: Stream your game to Windows 10 using the Xbox app and take a screenshot from your device.
Xbox One Screenshot
See the Xbox Support topic on capturing and sharing screenshots. Double-tap the Xbox One controller power button and press Y to save the image or say “Xbox, take a screenshot.” Use the Upload app to manage saved screenshots from My Captures, where you can set the image as your console background or share it to your activity feed, in a message, to Twitter, or to your OneDrive. See the March 2015 announcement for a quick video tutorial. Screenshot is not available while streaming.
Xbox App streaming video screenshot
When streaming to your Windows 10 Xbox App you can use the keyboard combination CTRL + Print Screen to capture the current display from your monitor and then use an image editor to paste and trim the capture.
How do I post photos in the forums?
Start by saving your photo to a hosting site such as Flickr or Imgur. Click the Post Reply button in a forum thread and use the Insert Image icon
or use bracketed url= and /url coding and enter the url for the image itself (.jpg or .png, not a webpage). The site will automatically resize large pictures to 800px wide. See the How to upload a photo thread for detailed instructions.
Official photos and wallpapers
You can find official wallpapers at Xbox.com and the images that accompany official Forza articles can be found at http://news.xbox.com/media. See discussion thread.
FH3 FAQ: Replays and Video Clips
Replays
How many camera angles are there? See discussion thread.

Drone Mode
In this E3 video interview Ralph Fulton describes the new Drone Mode: In Solo and Multiplayer you can control a drone that flies around and films at real speed for both photos and videos. Demo gameplay from gamescom shows how the drone works.^ “There is no distance limit on drone cam.”^ See discussion thread.

Xbox recorded clips
To save game clips to be uploaded to the internet, say “Xbox, Record That” (or double-tap the Xbox button on your controller and press X) to capture the past 30 seconds of gameplay, or snap the Game DVR app to record up to 5 minute segments. Use the Upload Studio app to edit and share videos up to 30 minutes long. Saved clips can be found on the dashboard in your Profile and in the Upload app, where you can choose to save them to OneDrive (and ultimately other hosting services such as YouTube). These recordings are 720p, 30fps. See the Xbox Support page on sharing clips. You can also find your clips at xboxclips.com and xboxdvr.com (both unaffiliated with Microsoft).
FH3 FAQ: Streaming your gameplay
Forums: The Content Creator’s Area forum allows users to find uploaded videos and streams, and to let others know when you’ll be streaming.
Twitch Streaming and Saved Videos
The Xbox One Twitch app can be used to stream your live gameplay. You can set your channel settings at www.twitch.tv to save streamed sessions for later viewing. Use Nightbot to set commands for your channel chat.
Forzamotorsport official Twitch stream
The Turn 10 Community Team streams weekly two hour sessions on Tuesdays (1pm Pacific time) and Fridays (3pm Pacific time) at Twitch Click the Follow button on that page to be notified when they go live; upcoming streams are also announced via www.twitter.com/Forzamotorsport . The streams show off new DLC, events, gift cars, and announcements, and often allow players to join in multiplayer sessions. Viewers have also been able to redeem DLC code giveaways or win branded merchandise from participating in the chat.
Beam
Microsoft recently acquired the streaming service https://beam.pro. At this time there is no console app for Beam so users will need to stream with PC software. See the Beam Forums and this step-by-step guide for tutorials on streaming with Beam.
Restream
https://restream.io allows users to simultaneously stream to Twitch and Beam and other platforms.
Hardware
See the Hardware & Peripheral forums for discussion about hardware used to capture and stream console and PC gameplay.
Elgato sells external and internal PC devices to capture HD streaming.

"Volkswagen
With our Forza Garage series wrapping up, I know that a lot of folks in the community have been wondering about a conspicuous manufacturer absence from the game: Volkswagen. With Forza Horizon 3, we’re bringing fans more than 350 cars to the game at launch, including manufacturers who have never appeared in a Forza game before. Our team works hard to license hundreds of brands for every Forza game; from small independent brands to major international automotive companies. Unfortunately, we can’t always align our fans’ desires with the interests of every licensor, as is the case with Volkswagen in Forza Horizon 3. As a result, we’re unable to include VW in the game.
Naturally, there are tons of VW fans here at Turn 10 and Playground Games and we’re as disappointed to share this update as our fans are to hear it. We hope to be able to restore VW to Forza games in the future.
