Like others I am also having the same problem. My syncing though is actually moving up slowly every 5 minutes in percentage but the problem is it freezes on a certain percentage. Should I just wait a long amount of time and maybe the percentage will unfreeze or is there another solution I could try without putting my game save in jeopardy of being lost forever.
First thing i did was delete the game and re download it if you don’t do that first there isn’t much chance anything will get the sync working. Yes I also missed a day or 2 of playing but what does it matter if you can’t play at all?Next thing i did was I deleted my Microsoft account i don’t know what led me to do this but i did not see any one else had tried this. So then I kept it up on my dashboard and when it froze on the main screen i kept clicking cancel sync and then continuing the sync over and over. I just had the game sitting there loading with no sync screen popped up also i do not know why it did this if yours dose not i am sorry… Most likely it will tho. PS it will freeze and stop the sync at random times but this is ok do not panic guys just hit the home button quit the game and start the sync over again if the sync download percentage screen don’t pop up then cancel sync and continue sync and repeat that step over and over a few times. MAKE SURE YOU SYNC TO CLOUD because if not you’ll waste your time syncing absolutely nothing if any questions ask i can be more specific with you guys telling me what is happening your your system
Well that’s good to know. At least people can leave it to sit and hopefully it will eventually sync.
I have the same problem but when the syncing finished it didn’t load my old account I now have to start again I nearly reached level 100, idk if I even want to play this game anymore unless this is fixed!
How do you choose to sync it to cloud because the option only popped up once for me then I picked the wrong one haha
The game is actually syncing, it simply freezes. Does your entire console freeze, or can you still dashboard? The game should have NO reason to sync unless you are away from your primary Xbox and have made progress elsewhere. If you only play on your console, the game never syncs back to your console. It stores everything locally and keeps a back up in the cloud.
Two, I might start by trying to clear your console cache and do a full power cycle. Turn off like clearing cache, unplug power cable from back, hold power button for ten seconds, wait about a minute. Plug the power back in and boot up. If you have been away from your console and are getting a sync issue, you could try deleting your CONSOLE save data ONLY! I didn’t have to do this, but other’s have and Xbox Support will tell you to. You may also try removing your gamertag from the console and adding it again. Again, Xbox Support will tell you to, even though it’s probably unnecessary.
If you can dashboard, do so and the syncing banner should disappear. If it does not, hit menu scroll until you see your cursor on the first visible green option, then go up one and hit A. Now wait until the banner disappears and the game quits. Go to FH2 and Manage games. Check to see if there is any save data for your game and how large the file is. My save data is close to 35 - 40 MB.
Now, start the game up again. While you still have control there are a couple options you can try.
A) Hit A to cancel sync, and when the confirm message appears, hit “Keep syncing”
B) Let the syncing banner appear and the white line to travel three or four times across. [I’ve found mine froze on the fifth time almost every time.] Before it freezes dashboard, then re-enter the game. This will make the banner reappear and appear to start over. That’s not the case, your data is still syncing, we have simply prevented the process from freezing the game.
I found, after sitting on Xbox Support chat for around an hour and a half that eventually, the game loaded just fine without the sync and everything was there. The second time, returning to my primary console, it froze on me so I waited a couple minutes. Then I dashboarded, quit the game using step B, and started it up again. Guess what, no sync menu, went right in and everything was there.
FH2 has a massive file size compared to other games which may be part of the issue. Most [cloud] save files are 6 to 8 MB, and FH2 is easily five times the size. Unlike previous titles were you would see a separate file for your save, layers, paints, and tunes in FM5 and FH2 everything is lumped into one massive file. The Xbox One is supposed to seamlessly sync your data and complete gameplay experience with the cloud so it’s strange that it struggles with these large files. Unfortunately, with the way it’s set up I don’t think the developers can or want to make the save into 5 smaller pieces again. The issue seems to be a console infrastructure problem. I’ve written both Turn10 and Microsoft about it. I know I won’t get a response, but hopefully this helps you all out.
I have had this issue for months in Forza 5, and since launch with Horizon 2. I run two boxes, and often need to move between them at short notice. I understand that Forza save files are BIG, but it shouldn’t take over an hour to sync!
During my troubleshooting, I tried wired, wireless, and even my mobile hotspot. Every game except F5 and H2 synced quickly and without any issues. When a factory reset and full reinstall failed to fix the issue, I eventually replaced the entire console under warranty.
I got a bit excited when the new console successfully synced my H2 save in ~10 minutes on the first try, and figured it must have been the console. Nope! Now I have the same issue on my primary console.
I reckon you’re spot on with your theory about file size, but what are T10/PG/MS going to do about it?
I didn’t even contact xbox support there wasn’t anything that they can really do i have not even heard about any updates on the problem either but im happy with mine i dont have nay paint or liveries on my vehicles and i can not see any of my cars when i join an online road trip to choose a car i have to repaint them and resave them to actually view the vehicle. Which is a pain in the but especially when im level 265 and have a 165 vehicles it is one of the most annoying things and also the game seems very glitchy i mean it did before but now it just got worse and almost everytime i am in a roadtrip and we all go to vote on the next class of car and maps i get booted for online i can not stand this but i’m still playing so i’m dealing with it for now.
Go read the post on my profile guys i will post it here i found out how to play i still have no paints, liveries on most of my s1 s2 and X class vehicles and also can not see my cars when picking for online races. Which if your level 250 like me it’s one of the worst things that could happen not worst but annoying cause i love having all my vehicles organized and would rather see pictures of the cars then have to read through 165 names.
Here I am wanting to play a game when it started Syncing Data, excuse me… I mean it was starting to sync data without actually syncing data for a whole damn hour, then the percentage complete showed, took further 15 minutes for it to reach 100% and it’s been on 100% for half an hour…
It took ten minutes to sync for me. The progress bar wasnt moving, I thought my console had locked up, but when I pressed the Home button, the progress bar didnt go away and I could kinda see my Home screen through the grey sync bar. So i searched for help, found this thread, started reading and it synced while I was looking for help.
Now I am at the start screen waiting to load.
If your game is doing a full resync it can take a while. If that happens leave it on that screen. Do not do anything else on the console. Be patient. Go and grab some sun. Get a few hours sleep.
Full resyncs are very slow.
Do not jump to the conclusion that they have frozen and cancel them, let them finish and yes it may take hours.
I had to do this on a replacement console and it literally took hours but did complete and all was well.
It may also happen if you play at a friends place or for some other reason your local save is deleted.
If none of these situations apply but it is still saying it is syncing I would still suggest let it finish. do not cancel it.
So, I have never had mine come up with the “Syncing Data” thing before today, but tonight it came up, I left it for 5 minutes nothing happened. I restarted the console, ejected the game and put it back in and nothing. Then decided i’d just leave it and see what happens, started looking through here and the Syncing screen went away. Now it has been loading for 5 minutes or so, so i’m most likely just going to leave it on to finish this whilst I go to sleep, hopefully will work then. If not i’m going to be REALLY annoyed if this game stops working and I have to restart my save…
I have had this problem, because of having 2 faulty Xboxes, on my third now.
Anyway, found that if you persist with trying (and you will sometimes have to hard reset your xbox), when eventually you get the green bar to start showing that its loading, stick with it.
Yes it will probably freeze and yes it will take a long time, and mine both times on both xboxs froze at 100% for over an hour, but both times it did eventually sync.
I think if you can get it to show the green bar, you will eventually get your data back.
But honestly this is not user friendly is it ?
Pretty poor show for the xbox, Microsoft and turn 10.
It is usually not frozen. Leave it unless it comes up with an error message. I know it looks like its frozen but if you leave it it will work. It just takes a loooooong time.
I got a brand new console with my advanced warfare bundle and ran into the syncing data freeze with FH2. After trying everything I could this is how I finally fixed it. I deleted the FH2 and all dlc packs then reinstalled all. Now here was the trick. I went to my notifications and launched the game from there on the notification that FH2 had been installed…hit launch and it immediately began syncing. Hope it works for you guys.
I got past this somehow but now I’ve started all over again in in a huge rage right now and unless this is fixed in going to do anything I can untill I get a reply from developers
I figured out how to fix it finally. If your issue is that it takes a million years to sync at the loading screen then when it first starts to sync hit the eject button on the front of the xbox and DONT TOUCH ANYTHING!!! If you let it go it will sync very fast. I have terrible wifi and it took me like 5 minutes
This is annoying as hell.
Been happening to me past week
Factory reset xbox
Redownloaded game twice
Redownloaded profile
Hard resets
Everything
Still wont even give me 0%
I never use my console or profile anywhere else
I cant play my favourite game.
I figured it out, you dont need to not touch anything. I looked up solution in google, you have to turn off machine and unplug the power.
IT IS THE ONLY WAY TO RESET THE SYSTEM, I READ THAT IT READS OFF CLOUD AND THE X1 HAS TO RESET ITSELF. YUP TURN OFF SYSTEM (EITHER SHUTDOWN OR PRESS POWER), THEN UNPLUG SYSTEM.
Turn system back on and you’re good to go.
