Anybody have advice for the first finale? I tried with an older car first (Buick Regal) and it was really hard cos the max speed was only ~110mph. I lost literally on the last straight because some other car had a higher top speed. The second time I tried, I used the McLaren P1, but it was close to impossible to control in the rain. I lost again on the last straight and then I rage quit! Any car suggestions or advice to finish this race?
Hey mate,
The worst one can do is try to do the finale in a very slow or a very fast car.
Slow car - You’re gonna spend 13 hours doing the race, to just lose it in straight lines
Fast car - The first obstacle you’re gonna hit (and its gonna be at the start of the race since the cars are too fast to handle properly) is gonna damage your car and ruin your race.
Personally I’ve used the Ruf Rt 12 as imho, its fast, handles great, and breaks like a charm all at around 750 S1 class.
Guide to get the best out of it: Buy the car, change the engine to the worser 4.6L, buy the best tires, breaks, suspension and rollbars.
With that combo, i’ve won the race without any kind of problems with Avatar difficulty set to “Professional”, Break assistance: ABS Only , TC On and Manual Gear change. The rest off.
Goodluck with it.
Respect!
Just to finer sharpen the above post…
The finale is designed to nullify two specific types of cars.
- Those that rely purely on handling.
- Those that rely purely on speed.
There’s cars in every class that match the above criteria and it’s those cars that will struggle. It’s not impossible to win in them but using a car which is so heavily specialised requires really making the most of your advantage in order to overcome your disadvantage. If your car is fast in corners you need to be so fast that nothing is going to catch you up on the straights. If your fast in a straight then you need to keep an eye on the cars that will slip away from you in the twisties.
On the whole though the above advice is good in terms of picking a balanced car. I personally ran the finale in my MINI John Cooper Works GP which in stock form prioritises handling over outright speed. As I ran the car completely stock there were much quicker cars than me in my race, and it was a battle to stay far enough ahead in the corners to neutralise my opponents’ straight line advantage.
Thanks guys… I will try something in the middle!
A racing gearbox could solve your problem with the topspeed , make the gear ratio longer , and it will work . Use a good fast car that you like , and modify it to suit your needs .
I found the first finale easy but the second one was hard, I used the Ferrari 360 ? , the one you get at the start of the game, nice race love to do it again
