FORZA HORIZON 2 DEMO EVO X PROBLEM!

The 2008 Mitsubishi Evolution X GSR is wrong! In real life, the GSR models do not have paddle shifts! This urked me very much. In real life the GSR has a 5 speed shifter. The one that has paddle shifts is the MR edition! Fix this playground. Or i could be wrong. Please dont be a douche when correcting me.

I just double checked to see if im wrong and i am not. Please fix this Playground/Turn 10. i am starting to worry about the other cars.

GSR = 5- speed manual
MR = 6-speed manual with automated paddle shifting and clutch

Or you guys can just rename it to the MR if your lazy. Whatever works lol

Does it really matter?

Some people like things to be exact, while not game breaking, still a pet peeve that gets to them.

It’s bloody difficult to get anything exactly. Cars come with so many different combinations of options depending on where they’re sold that it’s almost impossible to nail everyone’s ideal of the way a car should be.

GSRs were available with the paddle shift transmission, depending on the country. UK models for example could have GSR package with paddle shift.

Well thank you miss, that clears up a lot of things.

No problem  That’s not to say that every car is “right” in Forza. There are definitely inaccuracies here and there.

Whatever…

?

I own a GSR 5-speed manual and there is a major difference between the manual and automatic gearbox.

If a game-developer really wants to advertise a game properly and has all the licensees agreed on publishing their cars in the game, why not make it actually a correct car? Then again, the trend over several Forza-games is to not do it properly because:

  • the Evo X is portrayed with paddle-shifts (meaning it’s an automatic) still the controller allows for shifting manually with clutch operation
  • the SST-gearbox breaks easily when applying 400bhp/370lbft to it yet you can upgrade the whole engine-bay in game without paying attention to the gears

Then again, not all GSR’s were available with the “known” big rear wing from factory yet we all assume an Evo comes with the big wing as standard.

Aside from the nitpicking; the Evo X in the demo seems to handle exactly opposite from the car parked outside here. On water/rain the car has actually a tendency to understeer yet in game it oversteers badly. On gravel/tarmac/offroad, it tends to oversteer a bit more in real life although the game seems to make it understeer very badly missing checkpoints on the Rally-stage.

Bottom line: want to drive an accurate car? Buy one in real life and let games be games

Trust me, my next car will be an Evo but not the 10. Either the 8 or 9. But, the way my bank account is setup right now… that will have to wait. lol i currently drive a 5 speed maxima -_-

Had an 8, loved it to bits. Almost drove it to bits. Trader took it as partial payment on the X. Never looked back. The X is sooo much more comfy (noise and interior) as daily driver and takes 4 adults easily on holidays.

Thats cool man. I drove both also, liked the X but hated the body style. Drove a VIII and loved everything about it. I love the V all the way up to the IX body styles so thats why I would go for a 8 or a 9. But thats awesome man. Is that your X in the signature? If yes, then that looks sick. Props.

It’s hard to get some of the finer details correct for everyone since the cars are shipped to so many countries, each having their own options and build levels. Europe and Japan had three different build options on the EVO 9 while here in the U.S. we got two. Heck look at Ford most of their models are in Europe take two or three years before we get that body style in the states. They can only model what they are given so if that’s what the factory or private user has for them to scan then that’s what we get.

Turn 10 model the car they have been given to use. So if it has paddle shifters then in game it has paddle shifters. But as many cars come in many arrangements, then of course they will allow manual gears in an auto car or vice versa. At the end of the day it is still a GAME. They want people to have fun. Why else do you think the engine swaps which aren’t physically possible are included? Taking an old racecar and making it 4WD. Those things all speak of inaccuracy, but they also speak of freedom to experiment and have fun. It’s never going to be 100% exact without making it more sterile and less fun. You can’t actually drive a car using a controller with a TV for a windshield but you all do that without complaining. Yet you go off because a car has what you perceive to be the wrong shifters? lol

I dont know man. I always play forza games in the co*ckpit view ( they really censored that word? lol) when it was made available. I play forza with Manual and clutch in car view, so seeing your character not take his hand off the wheel to shift on one of my favorite cars, but least favorite Evo year, just takes the experience away. Its whatever I guess.

The biggest problem with the Lancer is that it isn’t the Audi instead.
