So today I got onto Forza Horizon 2 (digitally) on my Xbox One. About two minutes after I spawned into the world (actually, more like 60-40 seconds), my game crashed. So far my game has froze/crashed about 6-8 times in the past 45 minutes. I’ve tried looking this up onto the internet to see if there was anyone else with a similar issue, but there wasn’t really any. I’m not sure if it’s my xbox, or the game itself. I’m starting to feel like $50 was wasted though. Some feedback would be greatly appreciated.
I have the disk copy and mine does it all the time. I just spent nearly 20min doing the final race and just as i finish and it is saving the dam thing froze and lost everything. (very annoyed) i have never had this problem with any of my other games the xbox one is about a month old the game is about a month old and has never left the console so can’t get scratched and my internet is better than average and i don’t play online anyway. My mate has the same problem. I just think forza doesn’t care and is just focused on there new games.
I have digital. I’ve tried the following: hard restarting my Xbox many times, using different gamertags, deleting then re-adding my gamertag changing my alternative mac address, and reinstalling the game. None of these have worked. I’ve even contacted Xbox support TWICE about this, still nothing. By the way, I have another game digitally that is 1 GB larger than horizon 2, and it never crashes. It’s Unity.
1 – from the Dashboard, out of all games, hold the X button on the front of the console down until it shuts the system down.
2 – Disconnect the external power from the wall plug (or at least disconnect the wall-side connector on the power pack itself.
3 – WAIT until all power drains from the external power pack (no light, either white or dull orange showing on the pack).
4 – Reconnect the power supply to the electrical outlet.
5 – Restart the console in the usual manner, i.e., either with the controller or a short push on the X button on the front of the X1.
6 – WAIT until the console self-checks and fully boots to the Dashboard before attempting anything.
If you don’t disconnect the external power pack and let the power completely drain out, the system is still retaining “old” stuff and not resetting.
After the reset, if there are “updates” or re-downloading of items, DO NOT do anything else during those downloads. Let them completely finish before attempting to play, even if the information says, “Ready to play.”
That’s odd indeed. How much space do you have left on your hard drive after FH2 is installed? Try deleting some games not in use on your hard drive to free up space and see if that works.
I have over 100 GB’s left, but have found that my other games have acted normally(all but one are digital). I believe it’s specifically Forza Horizon 2. I also believe that XBOX just sold me a broken copy of the game.
