the only thing about this game that i think is farce is S2 racing online, its so un realistic, even with tuning you cannot control the car…S2 cars and races should be done on a circle or circuit track like forza 5
I have a 458 Speciale and a Nissan GT-R both set up for S2… They are both incredible performers, the GT-R is insanely quick with good grip, while the 458 corners like it’s on rail coated with super glue while still offering acceleration that just might warp the space-time continuum. A good build is important in S2 class, but so is the right starting point. For example, the '60s Stingray might be buildable to the class, but the C7 version is much better suited for it. The newer car has more downforce (or at least less lift) generated by the stock body. The race aero parts only go so far, so keep that in mind when building for the higher classes.
I am admittedly very very bad at S2 and have trouble handling them and all of their power. When S2 comes up in an online trip (almost always!) I just drop out because I don’t find it fun at all. So yesterday I did something different. I took a couple of very stable, good handling S1’s and pushed them up to 901 or 902 to be in the very bottom of S2 so they are effectively really S1’s. I actually put up a few decent rival times with them (better than I could with a 998!). Next road trip I will try these against the bumpers and crashers who can’t handle S2 either though they won’t admit it and I’ll see how I do. The good driver (or two) will beat me easy but the guys who suck at S2 I should beat easily.
Then you must not have a very good set up for the car. Also, is it an S1 or S2 car to begin with, or have you taken a low class car, thrown everything on to make it S2 and hope it still drives well?
If you want some good S2 cars, try my #34 Beetle GRC, Pagani Huayra, and I have a couple others. The link is in my signature but I’ve added a few more that may not be on that list.
The issue with S2 is that not every car needs to be, or can effectively be, S2 and people don’t understand that. They want to take every car in the game into that class and expect it to function and that’s not a feasible expectation. I love the wagons, they all suck in S2 for the most part.
