For anyone who uses a wheel on both games
Wich is better?
I want to get a DD wheel but fanatec for ps5 is so expensive in canada compared to fanatec xbox mclearn wheel.
Like how good is the driving experience?

If you take a DD for PS+ wheel and only a wheel for XBOX, you can use the DD for PS,XBOX,PC.
This ^
Would this work for like a Thrustmaster T300 RS GT Edition? You can swap wheels and I believe the T300 RS and the TX have the same quick release
I don’t think so, fanatec is the only one that I’ve ever heard of have this workaround. I use a drivehub to use my ts-xw on ps5 so this also works. If your going the dd route get a playstation base and then buy an xbox supported wheel.
I don’t see why it wouldn’t.
My understanding is the Playstation license is in the base of all Playstation wheels. The Xbox license is always in the wheel. The license is all that stops compatibility (which is what Drive Hub negates by taking the licence from a controller)
It depends on how the periphreal manufacturer built the products. For Fanatec, Xbox compatibility can be found in the steering wheel. For Logitech, Thrustmaster and Moza (with the R3) compatibility is in the wheelbase. Not saying others cant do this arrangement, but its kind of unique to Fanatec.
There are drawbacks to having compatibility in steering wheels. No matter what wheelbase you use, you’ll always have a limited selection of steering wheels to choose from. Where as having compatibility in a wheelbase allows for the user to use any steering wheel, but they are limited to specific bases.
In Fanatec’s case, they have PS compatibility in all (2) levels of their current product ranges, so the PS player doesn’t miss out on much of anything. It does come at a cost though.
Xbox players are stuck with the same 4 steering wheel options. Granted one of those is very versatile, but yup… Only 4 options. No BMW M4 GT3 for you!
You can try ive just never heard of it working. I dont know if thrustmaster does things the same way as their rims are compatible with any console where fanatec has specific rims per console. Its likely thrustmaster rims dont have a security chip in them.
I just commented basically the same thing before reading your comment, your answer is better.
Too expensive to just try.
Surely one of these youtubers has a T300RS and a TX. Might message a few and see if they would try if they have them.
I just checked Moza and the Xbox R3 bundle still isn’t out yet.
I would tend to think that it’s not possible. I feel like if it were possible, it would be more of a well-known thing at this point. I could be wrong, of course, but I wouldn’t get my hopes up.
I have no hopes for it.
