Forza 7 Stutter issues from PC to 4k TV need setup advice

Hello,

As the title says, Im getting massive stutter issues in game. It’s unplayable.

CPU: ryzen 5 2600
GPU: 1660ti
RAM: 16gb 3000mhz
TV: Samsung mu6290 (connected via HDMI)
I feel like the culprit is likely the resolution as the 1660ti is not a 4k capable card.

My question is, whats the best config of resolution options to get buttery gameplay? This is the only game Ill be sending to the tv as I have a driving simulator setup.

-Nvidia control panel is sending a 4k signal(60hz) to the tv as it’s the native resolution, this can be changed but Im worried sending the 4k tv a different resolution other than its’ native will create errors.
-The game is set to play in 4k resolution, this can also be changed, I assume itll be best to match this setting to whatever the tv is receiving.

Even when frame rates are well over 100, I get massive stuttering so Im really not sure. Not my area of expertise here. Figured some wizards out there might be able to spot the issue right away.

It’s most likely a software issue (so either the game or drivers), that hardware has enough power to play the game in 4K. If you do want to try a different resolution just change it through the game’s menu.

When changing it in game, you figure it’d be best to send the same signal from the Nvidia control panel as well?

Say I wanna step it all down to 1440, in my head it’d make sense to send 1440 to the tv(Nvidia control panel) and change the game resolution to 1440. My curiosity then would be is that going to trip up the tv because its working to figure out 1440 vs its’ native 4k.
