So I bought Forza Motorsport 7 just over a week ago now and I find myself wishing I hadnt.
Anyways ive tried numerous “fixes” and suggestions and still the same issues i go from 120+ frames to somewhere in the 20fps range then back to 120+ in less than a second and its making the game unplayable. I checked my cpu im task manager because someone said the game dislikes monitoring software anyways my cpu is maxing out the cores that i have to set as an affinity 0,2,4,6 they are pegged at 100% whenever i go into a race but my gpu drops from 60% in a menu to 10%-15% … Now i could be wrong but shouldnt it be the other way around? Cpu intensive in menus and gpu intensive in gameplay?
Any help would be great seeing as Microsoft refuse to issue a refund for a product they know to be defective and has been for 2 years gong by other people having the same/similar issues
I did try that and it actually got worse. I have managed to mitigate a lot of the stuttering or just got used to it by running everything on low and getting 180-200+ frames and it only stutters and drops into the 40s which is less invasive but in doing that its started to lock the game up fully lasting upto 8-10 seconds and sometimes multiple times per lap.
Under the Advanced area for the Video settings there is a field called Resolution Scale – i’ve found setting that to 100% and explicitly matching the game resolution to the monitor resolution seems to stabilise things.
I did try that lowered it and raised it with no luck… The best experience ive had so far was having that set to 120% with everything on medium and Atistropic Filtering and MSAA set to off.
Try the V-sync and take it off unlimited when it comes to frames. Should stabilize it as it will match your monitors frames. Worst comes to worst just set it to 60 V-sync, the game still plays well. I get drops every now and then even at 60. Just terrible optimization for pc on turn 10’s part. Will be in the vid options on forza.
Yea I did try that and it gets worse… I have vsync enabled now but that doesnt make any difference as I have a 144hz monitor. I did try 60fps locked but was getting drops down in the 10-20fps range every 2-3 seconds.
