Forza 7 on PC has never run correctly - after some Windows updates, I need to fully reinstall

I have a gaming laptop (ASUS ROG G750JZ, 32 GB RAM, i7, nVidia GTX880M), and while FM7 used to run properly, I have had to reinstall it 3 times.

Every single time, the problem starts the same:

  1. FM7 is working correctly.
  2. Windows 10 updates properly, and every single app works fine.
  3. FM7’s textures start tearing up. Then I get pauses during the game (not inconsistent frame rates, but pauses)
  4. When I enable the FPS counter, it’s up to 50-60fps, even with the hitches and pauses. Apparently, even the game “thinks” it’s running at a proper speed.
  5. Delete, reinstall, and everything works fine.

This time, though, things were a bit different. Besides what I’m talking about, now performance dropped to 15-19fps minimum. I don’t know if this round of updates really hit my laptop hard, but the game is now unplayable. I have deleted the game (again), and I’m waiting for it to install.

I’m wondering if anyone else has the same issues.
