I have been a Forza fan for a long time, I have bought all the games to this point.
Not much of a Horizon fan but wanted to support Forza but I prefer motorsport.
Wasn’t going to buy horizon 3 but being set in australia as an aussie I bought it.
Forza 7 has dissapointed me greatly, as a ghost league racing fan I enjoyed the ability to
tune my cars to maximum handling and sacrifice speed and acceleration.Unfortunatly
not being able to do this with in the PI index under hamologation restrictions has meant
I no longer enjoy racing in the ghost leagues, so at this point in time I won’t be buying
Forza 8 Motorsport in the future if this hamoligation continues.Plus I have already
decided not to buy Horozin 4. So after ten yrs of Forza at this point this looks like my
last purchase of Forza Motorsport.I do feel sad it has come to this and I will miss the racing.
But I don’t see any point in buying a game I won’t enjoy.
Yes there are the old PI ( 500,600,700) and so on in the mullplayer hoppers but they are not ghost.
This is just my thought and not unlike COD sometimes games evolve and move past some of there players.
I love the game and will buy 8. Sorry you don’t like the game but honestly it’s your loss if you skip the next installment. Forza is still the best racing game available!
I can’t speak for GT Sport. It’s not worth it for me to buy a third gaming platform when I already have PC and Xbox One. I can vouch for Project Cars 2 in that what you can do in that game is also much more limited than Forza.
Edit. To be fair, ghost racing is not really racing. It’s just hot lapping with friends.
Forza Motorsport 7 truly is the last great SANDBOX racing car game. Well that and the Horizon series. Hopefully we get a Forza Motorsport 8 as well, but for the time being FM7 stands alone for a title that pretty much has everything that anyone could desire in a Sandbox type car game platform. A plethora of vehicles to choose from, and not a lot of duplicates. Ability to race in stock trim or upgrade and tune to your liking. It will always be my favorite series, and I am shocked at how far Gran Turismo strayed from what made it great in the first place, not to mention the ludicrous Gran Turismo Vision GT cars. Lets not forget how long GT Sport was in development either, and IMO the end result didn’t net anywhere close to 4 years worth of improvements.
I think those that stray from the FM series as a whole will regret it, and most likely return when they see the grass really isn’t all that green on the other side.
Polyphony Digital has made the deliberate choice of creating a game that looks and sounds great on YouTube videos played on smartphone screens. The engine sounds are definitely an improvement and in some cases will defeat Forza but they lack good effects around them, gear changes are too smooth, and some cars are still not very accurate. The graphics are heavily loaded with effects because they don’t have the luxury of native 4K resolution, resulting in a picture that’s closer to a photo than to reality. And a smartphone screen will hide the fact it runs at much lower resolution than competitor games. I can’t make an accurate assessment of the graphics in Gran Turismo Sport without playing it on my 4K screen and I don’t feel like spending cash on a PS4 Pro to try it out.
The fact Gran Turismo has moved into more simulation style has also bolstered the elitist attitude among the more fanatical fanboys of the franchise, which is the sort of environment I absolutely despise in gaming. There is much of this among Assetto Corsa players as well. I feel the assumed “class” of Gran Turismo is forced and, at times, ludicrous.
All I wish from Turn 10 and Playground Games right now is cars free of glitches, a better multiplayer environment and possibly better pitstops for the divisions that need them. The rest pleases me.
