Hello! I recently bought the Forza 7 Ultimate Edition on my PC but I noticed that the colors look gray and washed out compared to other racing games and Forza 6.
I heard that this can be because of HDR but my monitor doesn’t have HDR. Is there any way to get more vivid colors?
Currently the Skies are gray instead of blue and the car colors look very bad.
Here is a comparison:
Forza 6 Apex Edition:
Forza 7:
I really hope that you can help me to fix the colors!

Does anybody know how to solve this?
Once you’ve launched Forza, from main screen go to options then Video. There you should find the options with instructions to adjust the brightness and gamma settings.
Did you even check before posting this answer?
THERE ARE NO Gamma or Brightness adjust options in this game on PC.
I suspect it is becasue they want to make the HDR look better, by giving us non HDR users no options to change the really bland and dark display.
This game is utterly ruined for my becasue its just too dark - especially in the cockpit view, the dashboard is almost black unless its in direct sunlight.
People playing on a laptop have no way to change this.
Just play around with the actual screen settings? I play on an ASUS vg248qe monitor (old monitor). My game looks crisp and vibrant like any other.
Never really touched the in-game settings. There’s not even that annoying brightness fluctuation when going from light to dark like in other games.
i think op refers to something that you can not fix.
i find that forza 7 is in general too dim. the lighting just does not pop, be that mid day or the sun straight in your face at dusk or dawn (plus often dusk or dawn the sun is hidden behind clouds).
it’s how the lighting designers wanted the game to look. plain and simple as that.
when i race GT Sport during dusk or dawn times of day the whole image is more ‘alive’ lightingwise.
wish forza 7 had this sort of light.
I have to agree that it is too dark on PC. I have turned the Brightness up on my monitor to 100%, from 90%, and there are quite a few tracks that at certain times of the day I cannont see where I am going. The top of the hill at Bathurst is one of the worst but there are a lot more. I do “wish” there was a fix.
Hello guys, so my father owns an Xbox one and Forza 7 even looks dark on Xbox too! He uses a normal 1080p TV without HDR. Maybe this game is only optimized for HDR.
However, I found a good workaround.
Every time I start Forza 7 on my PC I switch my Nvidia color settings to this (I have translated some stuff from german to english):
I think the image looks much better than before! Please try it out and let me know if it worked for you!
