Forza 7 Impressions(and other stuff)

So far, as usual, Turn 10 never fails to deliver a solid game. However there are a few things that I do take issue with that I think could be improved or added(or return thing’s that were missing from Forza 6). I want to give feedback to help improve the game, so here’s the few issues that I have so far that I would like to see addressed(sooner rather than later, if possible).

(1) Return Forza Vista: Unless I missed something or a mention/explanation in a WIR(let me know please if so), I would like to know what happened to Forza Vista. It seems to be… Missing. It was a neat feature from the prior entries and I kinda miss it in Forza 7.

(2) Track selection in Free play: I find the current track selection to be a bit clunky compared to Forza 6’s Track menu. If possible, I would like the menu here to be returned or at the very least reworked.

(3) Forza edition wide body/body request: I notice that several of the Forza edition car’s have a wide body kit that is unique only to them. Personally, I find this annoying that cosmetic content is simply locked away, when some of the kits are really good(Maserati GT for example). Why not have it instead be available on all car’s of that type if you own the Forza edition, maybe keep the Forza tires for the forza edition instead. On a side note, why can’t we(or why haven’t we) get(got) a facia, wing, and bumper to turn the Maserati GT into a Stradale(Or why not just replace it with the Stradale model)?

(4) Critism of the Singleplayer mode(Forza Cup championship): While it is better than previous Singleplayer modes in other FM games, I feel there’s still some issues that are kind of annoying. One thing that I find quite annoying is that almost every race is 24 car’s(like Forza 6), Why is this? More often than not, I find that when playing a track of 24 car’s, that I’m always put either in the middle or near the back, almost never near the front. As a result of this position, It can make it difficult in the early part of the race, which is almost always 20 car pile up at the first corner. It also leads the player to have to “bully” their way to the front early on or risk being left behind(especially with the 2 lap races) and forced to reset. I don’t like playing that aggressively and forcing my way to the front to get the win. So far, I’ve only come across one event where it was less than 24 car’s, I don’t understand why every race has to be 24 car’s. This could be fixed with some patching.

(4.5) Locked Car’s: While I don’t mind the idea of the unicorn rares that people want to return, I feel that the locked car’s in Forza 7 were really badly implemented. It practically forces you to have to play all the way through the single player to win the Forza Cup in order to get those car’s that you really want(911 GT3’s, Zonda Cinque, Murcielago LP670-4 Super Veloce and the Legacy B4 for me for example). I think a better way would’ve been to have a few car’s be unlocked for completing each stage of the Single player or unlocked by advancing your Car collection(or both) than the current system. Maybe this can be patched down the road, I don’t mind playing the Single player but the way the locked car’s were given to players was clearly not thought through.

(5) Test Drive: Not sure why its gone like Forza vista. Just seem’s like it was taken out for no reason(again, if I missed it from a WIR or something, please let me know).

(6) Restart race Option: Something I would like to see added.

Again, not too many things, but I think the stuff above should be addressed. Overall I still think its a good game overall, the Music is good and the car’s sound amazing as always(Wish the E46 had the option to swap in the P60 V8 to make a GTR). Look forward to the car packs and improvements to come(Wish Mount Fuji had made a comeback for rally car’s).

Far as number 4 goes I’ve never had a problem myself with it being a crash fest in single player campaign and I even have the drivatars set to aggressive. Also with the drivatar skill level bumped up I have no trouble getting passed them all from mid pack by two laps by out cornering. All I can think of that you might be doing wrong is not driving as smoothly as you think you are and actually being a little to aggressive and you don’t realize it.

It’s inconsistent at times. Sometimes it happen’s every time(Like the GP circuit at the nurburgring that first Hair pin), it generally depends on the track(since the AI don’t drive particularly well). I also have aggression reduced. Generally I try to avoid crashing if at all possible.

I run all single player races on Long and Pro… with Aggression off. I find the AI in most cases pretty darn good in the first lap… first turn at must tracks. Now in then I have to restart (yes why is restart not an option) in a single player race? Anyway… I was shocked my first race at SPA… the first lap was awesome… GT Cars.

Test drive is now under Free Play which is totally confusing and out of order.

The fact you have to exit a free play race to make any tune changes then start the countdown 3,2,1 crap all over again is annoying as hell, why cant we be able to just press esc/start tune the car from the menu there. Also the old MP lobbies need to be brought back or Turn10 will be saying goodbye to alot of its loyal fanbase. Lastly they need top bring in more body modifications like FM2 had and not have them as stupid DLC.
I bought this game to bring back the nostalgia i had of FM2 and the years i played it for only to be greeted with a half finished game.
