Forza 5 - Legit Competitive Future?

xNitrii, Speaking from tournament experience with the 2008 Championship Gaming Series (CGS), all racing games are hindered by one huge crutch… Dirty racing.

Whenever there is a prize or money on the line in a racing game there will be dirty racing. You may think this would be easy to solve, but think about the last lap of a race, last turn, when someone dives in just a little too deep under you and causes an “accident” and goes on to win the race. You cannot simply start the whole race over due to this one incident, but it is also not fair to the driver that got dived in on after a hail marry attempt by another driver to win the race. There are a lot of grey areas as far as “clean racing” goes now days, especially online, where lag and connections may also affect game play.

I personally would love to see Forza make a comeback into at least the online scene for competition, but until that happens your best luck is to get into the Racers Lounge competitions held by people for fun/bragging rights.

They could always run it with no-contact like the hopper, but that really dilutes the appeal to me, so mostly I just agree with you instead.

Look at XPLR, TORA, and virtual motorsports. they have tournaments, and some of the the tournaments have sponsorship prizes.

ahh and to think FM2 had this.

Forza TV, Forza Tournaments… SUCH. A. SHAME.

Aww.

Hard for a game like this to get attention when it allows so many wreckers in online racing. If Turn 10 would start really dropping permanent bans to all the wreckers more people would play and enjoy this game immensely.

That and they need to have built in leagues. No excuse why Forza 5 does not have this. Every other respectable and relevant sports game on Xbox has leagues with friends that keeps track of games, points, etc.
