Ford, stop lying to us!

I am tired that Ford is lying about the millage of there cars per gallon.
(Someone needs to help me put kilometres into miles; or litres of gas on miles per gallon).

[Mod Edit - Abbreviated profanity, profanity and profanity that is disguised but still alludes to the words are not permitted - D]

The situations of Hyundai and Kia are not as worst, they made an error of 0.3 litre of gas. Honda made an error and a lady got mad about her Civic Hybride and created a Website about that! I think it’s called <<don’t mess with Honda>>. (Sorry JDM!).

The worst is the C-Max: 4.4 litres of gas. Really? You do 75% more… Ouch!

I would just like to say to Ford that they should stop doing lies about that. You will have to pay a lot in the future. And change your motors! They are not fuel efficiency! Hyundai payed a lot for there slight error. You will be very screwed by the government if you don’t change NOW. And, even if I hate you because of your lies, I am trying to help your situation. Do you agree? Ford? What do you think guys? Anyone agrees with me?

When was the birthday of the Mustang? April 14 or 17?

Can I just point out something…
The MPG tests will likely be with just the car and one occupant. No additional weight. They will also do the tests is perfect conditions (new tyres, again no additional weight, partially full tank if it’s being tested on the road and tested on a rolling road (if they can do that.))
All companies are guilty of doing this, they test their cars in perfect conditions.

The first “Ford” Mustang was revealed on the 17th. The birthday of the Mustang is actually hard to find from my experience but the “birth” of the Mustang was in 1951 which I believe started with the Krupp SW 060 Mustang… which was a bus … brings a whole new meaning to the “original Mustang”.
Anyway, the first Ford Mustang was manufactured on August 17, 1964.

Chevy lies, too.

Case in point:

That commercial doesn’t technically lie, in that no single statement was in itself untrue. What it does, however, is arrange a collection of true statements in a dishonest manner so that it suggests something untrue. It clearly suggests that the ZR1 was way too powerful to race against the wimpy likes of Ferrari, Porsche, or BMW and Chevy way told to reduce power to be fair to the folks who can’t do 600+ horsepower. The truth is that it’s simply a restriction set for the series, just as all series have limits, and that the other guys can and have made more powerful motors, not just in race cars but even in their road cars, so it tells Ferrari “hey, no 1,000 horsepower engines” just the same as it tells Chevy 638 is too much. This truth didn’t stop Chevy from producing a dishonest ad, though.

In the US, vehicles are tested by the manufacturer with about 10% randomly verified by the EPA. Testing is done on a dynomometer to specified test schedules whose criteria include room temperature, maximum rate of acceleration, speed and time at speed among other things. The idea behind the testing is to provide a common value for the purpose of comparison between various models under standardized conditions. What it is not intended for is an absolute measure of fuel consumption because everyone drives differently and they are certainly not promises in any way, shape or from. The manufacturer has no control over how you drive and is only responsible for providing the values of the test results and proof of compliance with the test standards.

@Oitzubob

I was talking about Canada. Remember in introduction, I asked for help to put litres per 100 km into miles per gallon. That is a proof that they test differently in Canada (well, not that much), but look at what happened to Hyundai and Kia.

And yes, some people drive differently, some are more aggressive, some are very nice. Although, with the journalists doing their best they can do, driving like a pope, they have never been able to do a decent fuel consumption or even get close to what Ford says.

The tests in laboratories are not necessarely the bests, but the manufacturers are taking the best results they did. And that is what is happening with Ford. I am actually quite surprised that nothing happened yet, especially that the 1.6 used in the Fusion, the Escape and I’m probably forgetting some might take fire sometimes! Reliability is not something, from what I now, that can stop production (what I mean is forced stopping by the government). But, after all, I am not a professional and don’t know much about this… The only point of this thread is to say what I thought about the lies of Ford. That is why Ford and Lincoln are the manufacturers I hate the most in Canada.

I also know a story from one of my car shows (from whom I trust the most) that tested the Ford Escape, and, when they were answering questions from the public, they said that Ford called them and said to stop the car, and leave it in front of there house. Of course, they had to fight for that, and finally, they showed the test. The reason? A recall of the engine taking fire…

I must say that the engine is pretty old… so I’m not surprised. But Ford, please stop doing EcoBoost and do a REAL thing that lowers the consumption of the car. Examples? SKYACTIV, Diesel, Hybrid, Integrated Motor Assist, Earth Dreams…

the Cmax situation is rather old now, and Ford has rectified that a few months ago.

Didn’t know that though.

1 miles = 1.6 kilometers.
