Ford Falcon: Never sold, never available in the USA

I can’t use Ford Falcon GT F351 and FPV Limited Edition Pursuit Ute in “Aussie Rules” events because they are mis-classified as United States. How has this not been fixed in all this time (since launch)?

It’s just another car in the list of misclassified cars in the past 3-4 games. Car’s that should be in Super Saloons end up in modern muscle, etc.

It’s the same with some other Fords that are either of British or German origin. PGG simply doesn’t seems to care or even know about such things.

Brabham Automotive are listed as British, despite Sir Jack Brabham and his family being Australian and the BT62 being built in Adelaide.

Also, aren’t Acura classified as USA, or is it Lexus? Another oddity.

Opel are German in game despite being owned by GM for nearly a century. Perhaps in FM8 they will become French, along with Vauxhall, Dodge, Jeep et al?

Fingers crossed for the Italian parts of Stellantis to make a return, and retain their nationality.

Wow, okay… On checking the spelling of ‘Stellantis’ I discovered it is registered in Netherlands! So all those brands beloved around the world are now Dutch. Wij houden van Oranje!

They could/should/can afford to divide things into Ford USA/Ford Europe/Ford Australia given the number of Fords that are present overall in this game.

That’s tax havens for you

Opel was and still is a German company. It was owned by GM and now belongs to PSA. That neither makes them US or French. If we’d go by such rules Jaguar Land Rover would be Indian as they’re owned by Tata and Mini would be German as they’re owned by BMW.

You’ve raised an interesting issue…

Some time ago I’ve opened a suggestion topic to change way Forza works and assign nationality to individual cars instead of entire brands. You can upvote it here if you like

They aren’t British anymore, and nor are Rolls-Royce or Bentley.

They are in the game. :man_facepalming:

I wish, but unfortunately, licensing dictates how they are represented; PJTierney said so. Don’t believe me? Read his post history.

While it’s not fair the game just clumps different models under the same general manufacturer (Ford being the biggest offender here), it doesn’t seem plausible to simply add separate flags just to signify that they’re from a different country.

Sadly that goes back to the same tired word: Licensing. It wouldn’t change no matter how often it’s discussed.

I know his post history (and industry), I believe you

Anyway, one can still wish and ask for something to change in that matter (as well as other matters that suffer due to licensing, like car damage)

And visual mods affected by licensing (I’m looking at you Italian prancing pony company)

I know, but you were talking about Opel in the real world so I assumed you were meaning that about JLR et al.

No need for the facepalm, I haven’t tried to make fun of you, so please be respectful.
