Force Feedback for Steering wheels

Given how decent Horizon 3 felt on a mid-range wheel, what can we expect for Horizon 4? Surely updates have been made to FFB and I’m sure hardware support will have grown indirectly due to feedback from other titles.

  1. What improvements to FFB?
  2. Thrustmaster TSSH or Fanatec handbrake on console?
  3. Soft locking?

It’s Forza. I’ve been constantly disappointed with the disgusting FFB since FM5. I’m not expecting much and I suggest you wouldn’t too.

If you own forza motorsports 7 you will be pleasantly surprised that there is a new and updated Ffb profile. It is absolute perfection. It really changed the entire feel of the game and leaves me no reason to even own project cars 2 anymore honestly. You can program even my Logitech g920 to feel every bump in the road probably better than any SIM I have ever played. Its incredible. The Ffb is so perfect. Words cannot even describe. To each there own though I suppose. Thank you turn 10!

Oh this again OK Dusty and Blue HELP :dizzy_face:

Please tell me you guys are updating the FFB system considering we have games like Assetto Corsa and Project Cars that get it so right. I will still play this game because I love Horizon but I’d like to use my Steering wheel and I just can’t stand to in Horizon 3.

Was waiting for this thread to start.

At E3 there was a setup with a Fanatec Clubsport V2.5

Really keen to hear on this and disappointed that no one has talked about it in the videos so far.

I’ve seen the view from FM7 without the steering wheel, so that’s an improvement.

I hope that at the very least we get the FM7 improvements so mechanical and pneumatic trail are in FH4.

If FH4 is more like FH3 for FFB, I’ll skip it.

I’d just expect a transfer of FFB from Forza Motorsport 7 to Horizon 4. Maybe a few tweaks here and there due to the physics change but I wouldn’t expect anything until FM8.

Personally I think, and many people on the net, that driving experience was more realistic, and just simply better, in the first Forza Horizon.
We all know that in Playground Games are some devs from Codis. They have created amazing series of racing games (personal my favs; FH/DIRT), and achieved something almost impossible. They created open world game based on game engine designed for realistic driving simluation on closed motor-racing circuits, and implemented amazing rally experince as well.
However immersion on wheel is still way better in Dirt series, because of magnificent FFB feature, that gives situational awareness of driving. Please make it happen in Forza.

Dam right they better, the Forza Motorsport 7 feedback was decently better then horizon 3, so hopefully they will use those feedback or even better ones. I don’t ever see them comparing to Assetto Corsa but they could come close to Project Cars. Hopefully there drifting feedback for wheel will be improved. As a Fanatec Clubsport owner I would love to have a game to free roam & cruise, and I know I’m asking for a lot but with all these new Windows Mixed Reality VR you would think they would push the PC version of Horizon 4 to use VR for full out immersion. That would get a lot of people to consider buying a PC for VR and Wheel System. Check My System Out on Youtube At Martybra Simulations

Forget, its a gamepad game. Not only FFB but whole physics is designed for small movement with the thumbs.
You just can’t take schoolbus and act its now a rally car, because you’ve added some rally fenders on it…

Real man playing with gamepad.
No one will make a more programming work for 2-3 people.

Driving is very similar to Dirt series, and FFB is sooo good in Dirt.

Say what? Dirt Rally has the best FFB in the business IMO. Horizon is way behind at least with 3. FH3 is playable on a wheel but until I see it for myself I wont expect miracles in the FFB department.

The rally stuff on gamepad is similar, but FFB is way behind in FH.

These days, there are soo many racing wheel users. Because racing wheel getting more and more commercialized. But Forza actually doesn’t much care about wheel technical support. So they’re losing wheel users to other wheel well-supported racing game. FH3 wheel experience was totally terrible, especially on PC. Turn10 and Playground Games should care about this.

Guys don’t worry…if the FFB code is anything like FH3, then it should work with FlatPlatoLV’s ForzaEmuWheel App for Windows. This is an app he created that literally TRANSFORMED the game for me. Before, the game didn’t even recognize my DD wheel, but after applying the app it allows both FH3 and F7 to deliver MAGNIFICENT FFb!!! I’m talking AC/Iracing/PCars2 quality FFB! Don’t believe me? Go download his app and give it a try. I have an expensive Leo Bodnar DD wheel and thanks to the ForzaEmuWheel app, I have been able to enjoy over 300hrs into Forza Horizon 3. I don’t know how FlatPlatoLV did it, but his app really brings fantastic FFB out of the game and delivers it to my wheel. And don’t get me started on how insane the off-road vehicles feel. Oh my god…

This works great if you are playing on a PC but it has no effect for those of us who play on a console like the Xbox One and the Xbox One X.

Agreed.
Hadn’t played a racing game in a few years, Played the demo for FH3, loved it. Went out, bought a wheel, shifter, stand and convinced a buddy to do the same. FH3 launched, both of us had the same reaction to driving with a wheel. I stuck it out and found other games; Dirt, Project Cars, Forza 6&7. My friend’s frustration got the best of him and he got rid of his setup . Fingers crossed FH4 drives better than 3, but won’t be surprised if it doesn’t.

I’m hoping that there will be a demo released at some point between Gamescom and the launch like they did with Forza 7. That way we can see if the wheel handling model is similar to Horizon 3 or FM7.
