I’ve rolled back to 23.9.3 Adrenalin and now my 7900XTX don’t give me any more heavy shuttering. I got a clan mate with a 6800XT and things are going a lot better for him as well. Anyone with a serie 6 or 7 should give it a try, maybe do a clean install using display driver uninstal.
7900xtx user here and have no issues on the latest drivers. It actually feels smoother now and allows me to lock frames at 60fps now if I want to. Before this was simply ignored.
Performance on this game is wildly inconsistent!
Don’t roll back drivers unless this is the ONLY game you play.
Drivers have other improvements to other games which is why they’re always updating them.
If you want to see real gains and stable frame rates… Disable SAM (Smart Access Memory).
We shouldn’t have to do this for one game, but it’s because Series X/S, don’t have this feature. It’s like the PCI-E bandwidth or something else along the I/O chain is being oversaturated (or underused?). That’s why there are stutters and inconsistent frame times, but if you turn it off, they more or less disappear.
Well all game I play (ACC, Civilization 6 plus some single player I need to finish like The last of us, Lords of the fallen) work fine. I’ve tried to disable SAM and HAGS but the game give me a lot of shuttering with the latest adrenalin. And btw it’s the only game who give me problem; guess it’s already a spin of dice at this point.
