I used the FM3 usb stick a ton and is the only special edition item I’ve really liked.
A model of the new ford gt would be sweet. I would buy that and get some use out if it. I like using model cars as a weight in my dvd shelf to keep my games and movies upright.
How about a few good cars that only come with the LCE? I honestly felt ripped off with my LCE FM5 I should have just downloaded the regular version of the game. I was late to the Xbox one party and searched everywhere for my copy and it wasn’t worth the trouble because the LCE cars are the same "in my view worthless " cars with “special” paint and horrible tunes included in the regular version. Don’t get me wrong I love forza and will buy FM6 I just felt like I was burned with my LCE copy.
Make it cool and really worth buying the LCE TurnTen. Maybe a few unicorns from the pervious games since you’ve done away with those.
FM4 had a really nice leather bound booklet with little blurbs about some of the Autovista cars, that was nice. After that the LCE’s haven’t really been so great. FM5 has this metal case but that was pretty much it in terms of tangible content. If they could do something like GTA5, which came with a hat, that would be cool. I would love to see a model car, that would be nice.
Small things, hat would be nice. The book was okay, but meh. The metal case was a nice start but where’s the rest?
How about an outfit for the avatar online that’s exclusively Forza 6 LE? T shirt would rock, but sizing would be a mess, and shipping would suck. How about an exclusive background just for LE’s? There’s a few things that can be done online, in game and on Live, that wouldn’t add anything to the package cost, and would be available even to digital buyers. There’s just no imagination anymore. Heck, what about an LE painted car, or even an LE vinyl JUST available to LE members for painting purposes? Imagine your own LE number board?
I would be happy if they just offered the LCE for Forza 6. The idea of it going the way of Horizon 2 and only offering the stupid “Day One Edition” is the cheap way out.
I frankly hope that they o a Steelbook version of Forza 6 just so it matches Forza 5 LCE. The idea of a die cast for the cover car being included with 6 is nice, maybe with some other goodies, I liked the Forza USB Drive included with Forza 3 LCE.
I think there are enough fans that want the LCE that it should be at least offered and while I know it costs money to do it, raise the price if necessary cause I am sure that those of us that want it will pay for it.
Honestly I would like anything in the lce that just showed that turn 10 made an effort, went that extra mile. A die cast model of the new ford gt would be cool but I can’t see that happening. I would like a console or a controller skin because that would stand the test of time until the new console releases. Maybe some good exclusive dlc cars would be nice. Just something that makes me want to buy it over the standard edition.
The idea isn’t as radical as one might think. Turn 10 Studios had recently established a partnership with Hot Wheels in Forza Motorsport 5 through a car pack and a livery contest. While this isn’t anything out of the ordinary, a recent Horizon 2 photo contest included a prize Hot Wheel model Huracan (the cover vehicle of Horizon 2). Combine the brands of Turn 10, Hot Wheels, and Ford, and I think there is a sliver of hope that we may finally get a neat little die cast in Forza Motorsport 6’s LCE.
Actually i was hoping more minichamps than hotwheels but its certainly an idea.
I guess my thoughts were about a true limited edition for the game. A physical copy with something special that digital downloaders would not be able to have. I appreciate not everyone is bothered about celebrating a new iteration of Forza Motorsport but I for one hope T10 are going to make a storming comeback.
(I guess being someone of pre internet vintage i was not raised on the principle that everything should be free). I was paying £45-50 for PS1 games nearly twenty years ago. For me paying £100 - 150 for a proper full game doesn’t sound unreasonable when i consider how many hours entertainment - and heartache - the game gives me.
So an ideal LCE might be one that comes in a presentation box, with a steel case. A diecast scale model of the feature car is included and not available anywhere else. As a 10th anniversary bonus it also includes a usb stick of useful capacity and a poster signed by Dan Geenawalt. Possibly.
I been buying LCE edition since 3. Only thing I would really love to see in there is a detailed car setup manual. I.E. the car is doing this do/try this. I am getting better at setups, but it is still a dark art to me. He’ll as far as I’m
concerned if your top 10 leader board your setups should be free to all for dl, and unlocked. Just because I have the setup does not mean I can do anything with it. ; )
You guys were talking about the die casts, wouldn’t it be cool, it’ll never happen but, wouldn’t it be cool to be able to pick your favorite car from Forza 6. Some sort of code to redeem once you’ve played, gotten a favorite car, favorite paint job and setup, etc. Once you redeem it, you get your 1/24th or so Collectors Edition Die Cast Model of YOUR car!! That would sweet! I think that would be amazing, personally. Again, NOT likely, but would be cool.
I found the stickers to be a nice touch, But I am not about to put an AUDI sticker on my Chrysler.
the USB Fob was pretty neat…
I enjoyed the FM2 LCE, even though I had to import it, and it was OVER $100, it oozed with classy LCE machismo.
FM3 LCE was great in theory, but not practice. Never brand your LCE stuff with a number… It simply makes it feel hokie to have a FM3 Keychain, when FM5 is launching. Just keep it Forza Motorsport, Focus on the brand, and not the product.
I can vouch that Anyone that gets a LCE scale model car, will be disappointed, unless it is made by JADA or Hot Wheels. I seriously would not expect anything larger than 1:30 scale… and at that scale, the models tend to feel shoddy.
-Offer LCE vinyl types, New Fonts, or something that can be used in game.
-Keep the VIP
-Ditch LCE cars (even if they are just painted / pre-tuned)
-Bonus Starting cash or Permanent XP bonus
-Legacy Tracks
Keep the tradition of having a different car on the Collector’s Edition cover from the regular cover. Pack in a book about the game series as well as every car in the series. A LCE cover car would be nice to have as a collectible model car. Maybe add exclusive cars and tracks, which can be bought later by anyone who doesn’t get this version.
Maybe it could work by using the text from forzavista? I remember having a game guide from when forza 3 was out and I’d love them to incorporate that perhaps include in LCE
Would you rather have a die cast model of the standard games cover car the ford gt or if the LCE has a different cover car, a die cast model of the LCE cover car.
I posted a very sarcastic view of what I think should be included. That thread is probably deleted or locked by now.
I really believe a book about the iconic manufacturers, Forza history from initial concept to ten years later, and general car cultures (racing of various types, drifting, famous collectors, vintage car shows etc) would be great. One or two 10th anniversary Forza branded merchandise (a race day duffel bag or backpack that the LCE comes in), a car pack of 10 special vehicles with special 10th anniversary livery (maybe have a community contest), 10th anniversary livery for the cover car of the game with a free in game car, some in game credits, 10th anniversary steel game case at a minimum would be great LCE content I would be willing to pay $100-$150 for.
Heck, throw in a chance to win a “meet the Turn10 and Forzamotorsport.net teams at a track day” all expenses paid trip that each numbered LCE receipt qualifies a purchaser for and I would pay $250-$500.
There is no end to the creative 10th Anniversary LCE content Turn10 could create if they want to.
