FM5 Achievements, Titles, and Badges - tips and discussion thread

This is the place to discuss unlocking the Achievements, Titles and Badges in Forza 5. If you’re having trouble unlocking these, read through this thread to see if a solution has already been posted. The best place to report game issues is by emailing the developers directly at forzafb@microsoft.com. If reporting here, please provide as much detail as possible about the steps you’ve taken to solve the problem.

In this thread:

Problem Titles and Achievements - Please report if/how you’ve had success with any of these.

  • Flip your car - elusive but possible. See my clip and this thread for tips. Xbox records a video clip each time you do it, which can be annoying. Works in Free Play and Multiplayer.
  • Gold medal in a 77 Firebird - mislabeled, this pops for the 73 Trans Am.
  • 7000 point drift - seems to record a clip each time you do it.
  • Run out of gas - difficult but possible. Try an Ariel Atom for about 45 minutes. Works in Rivals (unlimited laps).
  • 50 races in (car type) - working for some players. Try multiplayer drag race hoppers.
  • Compete against a Turn 10 dev in any online race. - Fixed by the March 28 content update.
  • Career Drivatar on Pro - Wormfaust reports this unlocking after the Feb. 4 content update.
  • Beat your Friend in Rivals - Fixed by the March 28 content update.
  • Medal in Career without Rewind - Fixed? by the March 28 content update but still problematic in July - please post if you were able to unlock these badges.
  • Speed Medal Challenge - says “earn 20 medals” but appears to require Gold medals to count. You might find this easier to do in Drag or ABCs than regular circuit.

Speed Medal - Earn 20 medals in Multiplayer while driving an American Street Muscle car, by 8/4/14. NOTE: In Multiplayer hoppers only Gold medals count, but in private lobbies with human players silver and bronze medals may count.
The Drift Ring - Finish the Drift Ring Rivals event having earned 25,000 drift points in one lap, by 8/4/14.
On the Horizon - Drive 500 miles in a Lamborghini, by 8/4/14.

Brickyard Legend - Complete a race in the Indianapolis 500 Hopper and drive 375 miles in the event by 5/26/14.
I Would Drive 500 Miles - Drive 500 miles in a Timeless Supercar by 5/31/14.
Multi-Tasker - Finish a race in each Rivals event in the (May) monthly channel by 5/31/14.
Grand Prix of Long Beach - Complete a race in the Long Beach Challenge hopper and drive at least 125 miles in the event by 4/13/14.
Wing and a Prayer - Finish 10 races in the #66 Chaparral 2E Rivals event by 5/5/14.
Dragged - Earn a medal in 50 Multiplayer Hopper Drag events by 5/5/14.
Civic Si Century - Drive 100 miles in a Honda Civic Si by 3/31/14 - Contest related.

Tips:

  • Beat a Friend in Rivals - bug fixed in the March 28 update
  • Run out of gas - can be done with an Ariel Atom and 30-45 minutes driving. Rivals offers unlimited laps.
  • T10 Devs - Dev gamertags such as johniwanna have a T10 icon in lobbies/leaderboards. Look for Game With Dev play dates.

Some of these achievements are not working.
I have flipped my car, run 100’s of Career races without using rewind, etc without receiving these achievements.
Also, it is very difficult/impossible to run out of gas. I ran 50 laps at Indy with only 75% used.

The run out of gas badge is not impossible. It just takes the right combination of car, track, laps, and game mode to achieve. This can be done in 20 or fewer laps at Le Mans in most cars. The Ariel Atom supposedly runs out the quickest of cars I’ve heard people using. One other tip is to do this in a Rivals Time Attack event. You can run as many laps as you want, so keep racing until you run out.

The Rivals Badge also doesn’t unlock, I did way more than 10.

I’ve flipped my car many times and I haven’t been able to get this achievement to unlock. I’m using my own car and doing it in Free-play. Any ideas?

mine unlocked online racing, and each time i roll my car (again online) it automatically records it…try that?

I’ve got the challenge badge/title for 50 rival events, but not the one for 10.

As for running out of gas, take the atom into rivals, I ran out in 20 laps at Sebring.

Has there been any word on them fixing this? The fixed problems with the car pack in a week, yet this has been going on for two months.

I had that happen and was told that I had to go into the freeplay to unlock it. I was never able to do it on purpose again.

Try grabbing something big and miles off the floor. Range rover etc. Lift the springs all the way up them handbrake it over a kerb at 100mph or so and that I imagine should do the trick
