CONTENT OVERVIEW

TRACKS

  • This update introduces the Brands Hatch track - with Grand Prix layout and Indy layout - to Career, Multiplayer, Free Play and Rivals.
  • Update 8 will not include a track – our next track release is scheduled for Update 9, expected to be available in June.

FEATURES

Forza Race Regulations

  • In update 6 we made two specific changes to the FRR model. The first change was to add more examples of sideswipe collisions to the model’s training data. The second was to reduce false negatives and ensure we assign penalties to players who should have received them but weren’t. This second change had the unintended consequence of also increasing false positives by a much larger margin than anticipated, meaning, it assigned penalties to players who should not have received them. In Update 7 we have adjusted the weighting so that we expect to see false positives reduce and added more examples of sideswipes to our training data to continue to adjust the model.

  • We’ve added new PC audio settings for sample rate and buffer size which can be adjusted to reduce CPU usage. [1652110]
  • Proximity arrows are now enabled for all players by default in Multiplayer.
  • Proximity arrows now angle themselves based on car world position relative to the player car and camera rather than screen-space projection, providing more accurate arrow directions especially in non-chase camera views. [1637283]

I could barely remember what Brands Hatch even was.

I just watched that video to remember.

Why not write already “FOMO” in here? because its nothing else what coming :-1:

I wonder if there’s a single player of the remaining 500 players that actually requested Brands Hatch lmao.

I called it that brands hatch was coming along side the Lotus 98t (a little off but close). I’m going to say Long Beach is next. Brands hatch is a good track. Long Beach, Bathurst, Sebring, Road Atlanta, COTA are coming… Geez that’s 5 months worth of catching up to FM7. Awell.

Edit: I wonder what they’re going to do when they actually have to go out and laser scan tracks. (Tsukuba, Fuji, etc.). We’ll probably be waiting a year for that to happen IF it does.

Double edit: I heard that they might be sitting on Paul Ricard?

Looks like people want another Miata spam fiesta track. Considering how many great tracks still are missing, I wouldn’t have expected this track getting so many votes.

I remember Brands Hatch as being a good track. Maybe not in my top 3 list of must-have returning tracks, but it’s an addition I’m cool with.

Can’t say I’ll have trouble sleeping waiting for this. It’s not a bad track but I suspect it’ll be dominated by just a handful of cars. Dare say every time it grinds its way through the track list on the two hoppers we have it’ll be accompanied by a monsoon and thick fog. Oh! at midnight of course. Who on earth thinks this stuff though?

In This Thread: People who wouldn’t have been happy no matter what’s in the update.

I’m ready for BH. Going to be super fun in the TCR hopper. I figure it’ll be pretty difficult to pass on it in the GT3 hopper. You pretty much had to wait on someone to run wide on T1/T2/T3 or trade paint to make space when I played it in FM7. Should be fun though. This is one of those tracks that has zero room for mistakes. You’re either on the pace or way off it and a rolling roadblock.

Brands Hatch? The 11th ranked track in the voting. With 4 other FM7 tracks above. It would seem to ne, if the developers were actually listening to the community abd utilizing the votes the shub then one of the higher voted tracks would have received the push before Brands Hatch. Seems like Bathurst would have been the top of the list, since it’s at the top of the list.

As far as I can tell, it shows one thing very clearly (and I’m not going to mention that here):rofl::rofl: if you all can’t figure it out on your own. :+1:

Beer Hot Dog Popcorn?

It shows they don’t give a … about the votes and just do what is on their schedule.

I am drinking beer atm, my last Hot Dog was like 20 years ago and it’s the same for popcorn. I eat the sausages that are put into Hot Dogs, on a regular basis but not real Hot Dogs. I am more of a crisps/chips guy. Not into popcorn.

Don’t get me wrong, I think it is a decent track with it’s own “Brands” of challenges. But logically, if they were listening and using the community voting “LIKE THEY SAY THEY ARE”. Then Bathurst should have been next given that it was previously in FM7 and they had the track files to work with. The #1 track, I can see where that one would take more time since there are no files to start with. And any files for Fujimi would be really old and might not even be viable for use in FM8. Yeah, they listen.

Personally, I hate popcorn. Love German sausages. Polish ones too! And hot dogs from New York, the real hot dogs.

Looks like a great track for being pushed off

Surely this is to showcase massive FRR improvements?

We call them “Saitenwürstchen” in Germany.

Try and stay on topic, we’re on hot dogs now, ok?

I think Brands Hatch is okay. Not my favorite track, but I’ve raced it quite often in Forza, ACC, and Ride 4/5. I would like Turn 10 to release another fictional track for the next update. I eventually would like to get the tracks that were in ForzA 7 like Monza, Atlanta and Long Beach. However, I think we are due for something unique and hopefully a track that will show off the horsepower of the system. Rio was a pretty fun track and was a looker when Forza 6 came out.

Lastly, I think it would be good for Turn 10 to produce a road map of what tracks are coming and when they will release. I think that would help build some excitement with the community knowing their favorite tracks from previous titles or new to the franchise are actually coming. Finding out a day or two before it releases seems to set up disappointment when the track isn’t what someone was hoping for. Ride 5 made a road map for 6 month of what bikes and tracks were coming as part of their season pass. I enjoyed knowing what to look forward to.
